The Goddess said she would be in New York for two weeks, so when a clothing label asked for his schedule, he said he’d be available for filming that advertisement in New York on the same period when Hye Kyo would be there.

“Is it ok if I really follow you to New York?” he asked one night on the phone.

He knew that laugh. It’s her laugh when she couldn’t tell he was serious or joking.

“It’s fine with me”

“I really will come and stay in your place. Don’t be shocked if I knock your door”

“Stay at my place? There are thousands of elite suites in New York!”

“I know. But those elite suites don’t have you”

She squealed before laughing again.

He knew that laugh too. It’s her type of laugh where she’s embarrassed but loving what she heard at the same time.

“I still haven’t really believed you’ll be here. But well, if I really see you here, I think I won’t know how to behave either”

“Well, you better figure it out fast because I’ll really follow you there”

It’s not the first time a man said he’d follow her to her sabbatical destination, but it’s been years since she heard that, and she felt the erratic beating of her heart after a mere phone call was foreign, yet sweet.

For Joong Ki, it’s his first time going across the globe just to be with a pretty somebody. But she’s not just a pretty somebody, she’s THE Song Hye Kyo, the woman he had always admired from TV and had somehow turned to be his lover for three months.

If he could, he’d do anything to be with her.

“You really are here!” she said, as she opened her door.

Even while she read his texts and received his calls before he took his flight and after he landed, it still didn’t feel real for her.

Now that he’s at her doorstep and reaching out to hug her, she finally accepted the fact that he did like her that much.

“Didn’t know there’s a direct flight to heaven” Joong Ki said, half-laughing with what he was saying, but burying his nose on the crook of her neck and sighing in her arms.

“God. What should I do with this guy?” Hye Kyo asked the ceiling. She’s amazingly flattered and she wanted to jump around like a high school girl.

“You can let me kiss you”

His kiss was only putting his lips on hers, inhaling her and very gentle.

When he pulled away, she was still closing her eyes for a few seconds.

She opened her eyes to his smiling face and then he asked, “Can I have something to eat? I’m starving!”

They went to have lunch in her favourite restaurant with their managers, then they went shopping his favorite brand of clothing. She was wearing a cap and felt like covering herself, but he was deliberately holding her hand.

“If people saw us........”

“We’ll just be rumoured together. Our agencies will deny it”

“But –“

“I want to be rumoured with you”

She burst out laughing and pushed him away.

“Wae? I’m only telling the truth. Hye Kyo-ssi......”

There’s always this tingle at her toes whenever he called her name. He mostly called her “Hye Kyo-ssi” since she’s older than him. “Hye Kyo” or “Hye Kyo-yah” were only reserved for moment when they’re completely alone. But still, no matter how he said it, it always sounded so good it made her giddy.

“I want to forget that people could take pictures of us just for this one day. We can be careful on other days. Do you agree?”

She found herself nodding and followed him walking along the store, their hands linked.

Somehow, they ended up sitting on her carpet playing Yutnori, a board dice game played with four wooden sticks. Her friends just gave her a box of the game, and when Joong Ki saw it, he immediately wanted to play it.

They played while talking about their past week, and he was telling a joke of how Lee Kwang Soo kept imitating the DOTS teaser when Dr. Kang and Captain saw each other again in Urk, where her scarf flew and he was wearing sunglasses. The way Joong Ki imitated Kwang Soo was so funny that she kept laughing and laughing.

Until after one joke, he closed his eyes.

“Aigoo, I can’t”

“What, why?”

“I can’t see you anymore. You’re too beautiful! Stop it!”

“Aish, michin namja!”

“Wae? I mean it. I’m blinded! How can I survive a week with you here? I won’t be able to see anything afterwards”

He was still closing his eyes with his hand and she pulled his hand away.

She had come very close and he held her by the shoulders.

“What if I die because I’m overdosed?”

“Overdosed of what, you silly?”

“Of your pretty face”

She sighed and covered her face. “There. Feeling better?”

“Hem......” he pretended to think, before pulling her hands away, “But it’s a waste too without seeing you. I don’t mind being blind then”

She squealed, “Omona, ottokeee??? He’s so cheesy!!!”

“What else could I do? You’re too pretty!”

“I’m not!”

“You are!”

“Ah, mwolla!”

He moved forward and kissed her.

“Is this true? Or am I just dreaming? Are we really together?”

She chuckled before pecking his lips.

“This is true, Joong Ki-yah”

He’s laughing and she complained, “You laugh too much. I’m starting to feel like a comedian!”

“Sorry. You just. You make me stupidly happy like this”

“You make me feel fifteen again”

“We influence each other positively” he concluded.

She sighed, “You’re so sweet. Nearly all the time. I might be crazy and be really clingy if you keep this on”

“Cling to me juseyo. Let me be your Oppa, Hye Kyo-yah”

“You already are” she answered, before he began kissing her again and lying her on the carpet.

It’s the cheesiest week of her life. Being with him was so......so......fun. And happy. And easy.

It crossed her mind that they would be awkward since she’s four years older than him, but it didn’t happen. She became like a high school girl again around him.

It tickled her whenever she caught him looking at her then seeing him shaking his face like he couldn’t stand staring at her much longer.

Many had told her she’s as pretty as a goddess, but she had always took it light-heartedly. Yet, when Joong Ki looked at her, she believed she’s the most beautiful woman in the world and as a result, she bloomed even more.

The last day before he had to return to Korea, he spent the day recording videos of her and taking pictures of her so often she threatened to throw his phone out of the window.

“Be quiet. I’m only storing my vitamins. I need this to see again and again when we’re apart”

“We need to take a selfie then”

He held his phone on selfie mode and kissed her.

“There. Best selfie of my life”

She could only laugh again as he trapped her on the kitchen counter.

“Miss me when I’m away” he asked, pecking her lips once.

“I will”

“Don’t smile to other guys” and he kissed her nose.

“That’s not possible”

“Think of me until you fall as crazily as I am” and he kissed her forehead.

She didn’t say anything. Whatever could she say when she felt entirely melted already?

“I’ll call you everyday and text you whenever I can”

She was smiling like a lunatic and finally pulled him closer for a hug.

“God. I’m desperately in love with you, Hye Kyo-yah. Ottoke?”

“.........stay desperate” she whispered.

“I think I will. This won’t wear off, I guess. I might get crazier in time”

“I’ll make you crazier”

“What am I getting myself into?”

“I’ve trapped you” she replied, circling his neck with her arms.

“You completely have”

“You’re going to be trapped for a long time. I’ll make sure of that”

His grip on her waist tightened and his breathing became faster.

“I love you” he murmured urgently, “I can’t control myself when I’m with you, Hye Kyo-yah. And I’m sure I’m never going to love anyone else this much”

She blinked, shocked to realize what he said made her eyes wet with tears.

“I should be afraid. You speak as if you want to be with me forever”

“I do”

She should have reminded him that they’ve been closer for only less than a year, and they’ve been together for only three months. But the way he said it, the way he’s holding her, and the way he’s been treating her made her knew that he meant what he said.

Joong Ki saw doubt on her lovely face and held her cheeks.

“Trust me” he begged. “I’ll make you happy. And I’ll never let you go”

“Other guys spoke like this to me in the past. And they all broke my heart in the end”

“I want to marry you”

That made her really cried. Her tears dropped on her cheeks and she said, “Other guys I really love in the past said they’ll marry me too and I end up only hurting”

“Can’t you trust me?”

“Joong Ki-yah. If it doesn’t end well with you, I don’t think I’ll be able to bear it”

“We won’t end in pain. I love you too much to let it ever happen”

“Do you promise?”

“I promise”

“......I’m going to believe you”

“Good. You should” he said, wiping her tears away.

“I’m going to believe you because I have no other choice. I already love you very much too”

He kissed her after hearing that. And he didn’t stop.

Hye Kyo closed her eyes and let him swept her away.

Because, the only option to choose in life was happiness, right?

She chose happiness.

She chose to believe that his love, their love, would never have a bitter end.

Only happiness.

Regarding my personal life, I've been having allergy for these past few months. I hate going to doctors but finally went to my friend who's also a doctor because I couldn't take it anymore. I hope by following her suggestions and drinking her medicines I'll be better. 

I'm excited for the last two eps of DOTS but also feel reluctant for the drama to end. Oh DOTS, the way you make everybody feels..........
