She had a strong urge to end it all.
Right then, right there.
The city's lights were calling her name;
they were begging her to join them.
Her frail hands gripped the railings as her heart began to race.
It was her chance to finally soar above all the pain, the tears.
All of it would be left behind.
"Your story wasn't meant to end like this.
Don't let your past defeat you."
That night, a stranger's voice,
echoing from the shadows, saved her life.
Jessica Jung; a lost soul in need of a savior. With the weight of the world pressed down upon her shoulders, she was ready to let it all go and finally spread her wings and leave all of her worries behind. She brought herself up to that rooftop with a purpose. She was so sure of her decision. The world didn't scare her anymore, because soon, she would be one with the lights. She'd be able to be with her mother again and remember what it was like to smile. But her reunion was taken from her. That stranger took away her dream, but her gave her life in return.
Dong Youngbae; a young man who has been through life's ups and downs more than anyone could count. Though not the type to talk much or do much, there was something about him that no one could put their finger on. Maybe it was the way he would keep to himself and disregard the rest of the world around him. Maybe it was the way he only seemed to talk to one person, as if no one else existed or mattered. Maybe it was the way he would, without fail, go up to that filthy rooftop every evening and stare up into the sky, having a silent conversation with the night.
