To where he stood, the river looked very much inviting, the rush of the water pulling him into hypnosis. The cool breeze kissing his wet cheek was urging him to let go. With just one slight miscalculated movement, he would fall to the depths of his death. 

So tempting.

He'd rather die this time than to die every single day knowing that he couldn't be with his angel, his angels, anymore. Somehow he understood her. He accepted her decision. She will never be back.


But how could he possibly live without her? When he finally got all of himself together, he found out that he had lost her, forever. All his life we would live in pain and regret and misery. He loved her so much and he can't live without her.



So he will follow her. Even in the afterlife he will pursue her. That's how much he loves her.



Wait for me.



He was finally letting go. He was letting the river take him to her. But a sharp ringing snapped him out of his daze. Someone was calling him.




The caller ID read Sehun.


Instinctively, he answered. He might as well let his best friend know what he was about to do even if he kept things from him. He needed someone to tell his parents how much he loved them even after what they did. He wanted someone to hear his last words so he wouldn't be forgotten.


He's afraid of oblivion after all.


"Where are you?"


"I'm going home."


"You really should. Your mom kept calling me. She told me that you're not picking up her calls. What's wrong?"


"Sehun, tell them I love them. Tell them I don't understand but I forgive them. This is the last thing I ask of you. Please." He tried his best to keep his voice from cracking. But Sehun knew him beter than anyone else.



A heart beat passed. He then heard his friend say, "Kai, if what I think you are doing is what you're doing, stop it. Don't. Calm down and think this through." Sehun was surprisingly  calm, his voice soft but firm.


He knew he'd try to talk him out of this. He knew he'd try to stop him. But he won't let him. He couldn't let him. He already made up his mind. There's no turning back.



"You don't understand. She's gone! And she thought I don't love her anymore. She thought I hated her. But no! How can I explain to her? How can I tell her I love her still?  I won't see her again. I can't  talk to her again. I'd never hold her again."


He was surprised that tears still came out from his eyes. He thought they are all dried up. He thought there's no more to come out from all of his sobbing for the past hours. But tears of sorrow never seem to ran out.


"Where are you right now?"


"It doesn't matter."


"Of course it matters, Kai! Your life matters! Listen to me. I saw her beside you every day when you were asleep. I saw how much she hoped for you to wake up, to live. I saw how much she wanted this second life for you. And now you're trying to kill yourself because she's gone? Do you think she wanted to see you dead? All her efforts will be put to waste if you continue this stupidity!"



His friends's words struck him straight to his heart. Was he really ready to throw away her prayers and tears?


"But she's gone." He whispered.


"She's gone but you're not, Kai."


"I know and it hurts."


"Come home now and tell me everything. I have things to tell you as well. I wont keep things from you anymore."


"I will."


"Kai," he heard,  "come home."




He ended the call, all of  his strength drained out. He can't believe he even thought of ending his life. She will not be pleased with it.



"I'm sorry, my angel. Forgive me." He said towards the sky. "I remember now. I remember."
