“Severe smoke inhalation…”

 

“Broken hand…”

 

“Third degree burns…”

 

“She’ll wake up any day now…”

 

 

The voices in passing weren’t a single one I wanted to hear. Doctors, nurses, technicians, they had all been to my hospital room one time or another. I subconsciously heard them in my stupor. I hadn’t awoken but once since rescuing Seunghyun oppa from the plane ruins. Even at that time, I was so doped up on pain medication I hadn’t understood what was going on. All I knew was my hand was screwed, I could feel pain radiating even in my coma-like sleep. I wanted more than anything to know that Seunghyun oppa had been treated and was alright. Unfortunately, my body didn’t chose to be awake until this very moment. I could smell Jinwoon’s thick cologne in the room. I could hear Seulong mumbling something about lunch and haven’t eaten since noon. 

 

“Y’know Seunghyun’s rather dull with you sleeping all the damned time, Bomi, and I’m bored!”

 

“Hey!”

 

“What? This one always gets me in trouble and I like it.”

 

“Dork.”

 

“But I’m your dork right?”

 

“Always.”

 

I groaned, half conscious. I recalled Seunghyun and I’s cheesy conversations like that and a smile found its way on my face. Did he say Seunghyun was dull? Did that mean he was alright? My heart skipped a beat at the thought.

 

“Jinwoon, I think she can hear us.” Good job, Seulong. No wonder we’re in one of Korea’s top universities together.

 

“Bomi?” Jinwoon’s voice was closer. He was waving his hand in front of my face. I could sense the motion beneath my eyelids.

 

My eyes poked themselves open and I stared up at Jinwoon rather boredly.

 

“She’s awake! Look Seulong!” Jinwoon grabbed Seulong’s arm and pointed at me as if Seulong hadn’t already been gawking at me.

 

“Call the nurse in.” Seulong urged him.

 

“S-Seunghyun?” I stammered, my eyes burning into Jinwoon’s.

 

“He went for doughnuts. It’s the first time he’s left since you were brought in.” Jinwoon said thoughtfully.

 

“Doughnuts?” I raised an eyebrow in confusion. I had never seen Seunghyun oppa eat doughnuts in my life!

 

“I-I was hungry..” Seulong answered shrugging sheepishly.

 

“Bomi?” 

 

I looked towards the door where Seunghyun oppa stood. He wore a simple polo shirt and jeans with sneakers that I’m sure were worth more than the hospital bed I was lying in. I smiled and yelped. He rushed towards me, dropping the box of doughnuts in his rush (much to Seulong’s dismay). His arms wrapped firmly around me and I sighed. I hadn’t been in this single one place I belonged in so long. It felt like years since I had even seen him when it had probably only been days. 

 

“Don’t you ever do that to me again.” Seunghyun sighed, his lips brushing my forehead. He then kissed my hair, shutting his eyes tightly. Warmth entered my entire body, enveloping it from the inside out. I smiled softly, managing to wrap my arms around him.

 

“I-I’ll try not to.” I laughed weakly.

 

His deep chuckle in response made my heart flutter more if even possible.

 

 

“And do you have an explanation for this one, Kwon Bomi?”

 

Chae Rin unnie’s voice at the door made my fluttering heart come to a complete stop.
