Prologue

   POV- Aaliyah Keita
2 years. 2 years we were in a relationship before he walked out the door with no explanation, just a note and a bag of $20,000. Where did he even get that much money? I try to think hard but I can't even think of what he does for a living. He works at that night club in downtown, I think. I am a terrible mom; I should know the answer to that question without any hesitation. I look over to where the pictures of me and my kids use to be. Who steals pictures?
 Four weeks ago I came home and the first thing I noticed was that all the family pictures were missing. I looked around the house noticed that all of his stuff was gone and  that he even took the knick knacks and pictures the boys had made for him. That is when I noticed the duffel bag and the  note.  The Note Read:

Liyah,
I am sorry but I had to leave. I can't keep coming home knowing that I am hurting you and the kids. I love you and I wish I could be with you right now but I can't.  I left some money to help with my absence. I hope one day soon you will forgive me and I can come and get you and the boys and we can live as a family.

I had to tell the boys something but I couldn't  tell them that he just left. I told them that he had to go back to Korea for an emergency and that I did not now how long it would be before he would come back. We ate silently that night and it has been like that for the last month.  I walk them to school and I go to work. Nothing more, nothing less. It is like a big hole has been placed in our lives.

Status Update10/15/16
I am an college student and midterms are coming up, so I have been really busy. I have been working on the chapter but between school work and minor writers block, I haven't had a chance to finish it. Hopefully after midterms are over I will be able to take a break and to continue to write the chapter.
