A Chance

What to Do?

It has been a week since Sojin left Yura and the dorm. Although she didn’t want to go back, she only requested a week vacation. Girl’s Day comeback was just around the corner and she didn’t want to disappoint DreamT, her members and her fans if she asked for a longer break. Being away from Yura was painful but helpful. Being at Daegu, she was able to have some time to herself and think about their relationship. She spent so much time with family and friends but now she was in front of the dorm’s door. Just when she was about to unlock the door, the door suddenly open and there stood Yura.

“S…Sojin…you’re back,” Yura stuttered as she stared at her.

Sojin was overwhelmed with emotions so she didn’t know how to reply. They continued to stare at each until Sojin decided to pass Yura. Yura was about to leave for her schedule but she couldn’t pass an opportunity to talk to her. She quickly took off her sneakers and rushed to Sojin’s room. Sojin had closed her door and Yura hoped that she didn’t lock it. But Yura didn’t want to rush in and upset Sojin even more.

“Sojin…babe…can I come in please?” Yura asked through the door.

There was no reply and Yura decided to be patient with Sojin. It was all her fault that they were in this situation so Sojin had the right to ignore her.

“Please babe…we just need to talk…about this…about us,” Yura said timidly.

There was still no reply from Sojin and Yura didn’t want to mess it up even more just by leaving for her schedule. She said a silent prayer as she reached for the doorknob. She released a breath of relief when the doorknob wasn’t lock. Slowly, she pushed open the door to see Sojin sitting on her bed. As she moved closer to Sojin, she saw that she was holding a picture of them on their first date. Sojin started to tear up and her shoulders were shaking. Yura quickly moved in front of her and kneeled down to look into Sojin’s eyes. She wanted to wipe away the pain that Sojin was feeling.

“Please don’t cry. If you want, you can hit me. Just please stop crying,” Yura said as she tried to wipe away Sojin’s tears.

Unlike their last encounter, Sojin didn’t move away from Yura’s touch. She was too tried to fight Yura anymore. Deep down inside, Sojin wanted to work things out with Yura but she didn’t know how to. She released a deep sigh as she felt Yura’s hand leaving her face. She looked up a bit and studied Yura’s face. From the dark bags under Yura’s eyes to her cheekbones, she could tell that Yura was losing sleep over this situation.

“Look…I really don’t know what to do with this situation. Honestly, I was going to end our relationship through text when I was in Daegu but…I stopped myself,” Sojin explained.

When Yura heard that Sojin wanted to break up, she suddenly felt like she couldn’t breathe. Her nightmare was slowly becoming true and she started to blank out. Sojin saw this and was worried that Yura might have misheard what she said.

“Y…Yura. I said that I stopped myself from breaking up with you,” Sojin repeated as she shook Yura out from her nightmare. “I really don’t know what to do with our relationship or how we can fix it. I think we just need time to ourselves for now but we are not breaking up.”

Yura could finally breathe again when Sojin clarified her thought. She wasn’t surprised that Sojin didn’t know what to do because she didn’t know what to do either. For the whole week, she was trying to figure out ways to fix their relationship and get Sojin to forgive her but she couldn’t think up a good plan. It also didn’t help that Hyeri kept complaining how it was miserable without Sojin around. She knew that if she told Hyeri and Minah the full story of how badly she screwed up with Sojin, they would never forgive her.

“I understand that we need time to figure this out. I will try my best to give you all the space you need even if it hurts me. Look…I didn’t tell Hyeri and Minah because I know they will never forgive me for hurting you. If you think that they need to know, I won’t stop you from telling them,” Yura told Sojin as she held Sojin’s hands.

“It is best if we don’t tell Hyeri and Minah just yet. We don’t want the vibe of the group to be weird around the waiting rooms. If they notice something is off between us and they ask, we will have to tell them,” Sojin explained as she stared at their intertwined hands.

“Okay, whatever you want. I just want to work this out because I don’t want to lose you,” Yura said desperately.

“I also don’t want to end things either but you really hurt me…bad. I don’t know if I can ever forgive for cheating and lying to me,” Sojin replied as she choked up a bit.

Yura heard Sojin voice wavering and she knew that Sojin was trying so hard not to break down right now. She didn’t know what to do so she just did the first thing that came into her mind. She pulled Sojin into her arms and gave her the tightest hug. Once she felt like Sojin wasn’t going to fight her, she nuzzled her face against Sojin’s neck.

“Please forgive me. I was so stupid to ever lie or cheat on you. You are the most wonderful person in the world to ever give me another chance to work this out and I promise I will fix everything,” Yura mumbled against Sojin’s neck. “But for now, just tell me what to do and I will do it.”

Once Sojin heard Yura’s promises, she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. Yura felt Sojin shaking and her hot tears on her shoulders. Yura didn’t want Sojin to cry anymore because her idiotic actions. So she slowly rubbed her hands up and down on her back to calm her.

“Please just stop crying. Instead of crying, you can hit me,” Yura said as she tried her best to calm Sojin.

The moment was interrupted when Yura’s phone beeped.

Yura…we are behind schedule…where are you? Can you at least tell me you are awake and dress? – Manager Oppa

Yura and Sojin saw the message and Sojin gasped loudly. She didn’t know that Yura was running late on her schedule so she quickly wiped away her tears and tried to calm herself. Yura quickly typed a message to her manager that she was coming down soon.

Sorry oppa, I forgot that I had to do something before I leave. I will be down soon. – Yura

“Y…you better go or else you will get in trouble for being late,” Sojin said as she pushed Yura to move.

Yura smiled a bit as she felt like things were slowly going back to normal. But she knew that she would need to do a lot more waiting until the relationship is back to 200%. As they got closer to the front door, Yura abruptly turned to look at Sojin.

“Before I go, I just want to let you know that I will always love you and only you. Again, I made too many stupid mistakes that I can’t take back but you are still willing to give us another try. I will give you all the space and time you need because only time can heal us,” Yura said as she stared into Sojin’s eyes.

At that moment, Yura resisted her urge to kiss Sojin on the lips since she did promise to give all the space and time to heal. She couldn’t go back on her words and she didn’t want to ruin her chances. She decided to take the safe choice and gave Sojin a quick peck on the cheek before she left the dorm. After the peck, she quickly put on her shoes and rushed down to the parking lot where she saw that her manager patiently waiting.

“I am so sorry that I am late. Being the pabo I am, I totally forgot to do something that I promised Sojin I will do,” Yura explained as she swiftly entered the van.

“It is alright. I talked to the photographer’s aid to explain that you had to do some last minute things to do and they totally understand,” her manager replied.

“Aww…you’re the best manager in the world,” Yura exclaimed while her manager chuckled.

They slowly pulled out from the parking spot and onto the main road. Yura couldn’t help but to feel happy that things between Sojin and her were getting better. Although it was a long road to recovery, Sojin gave her another chance and that was all it matter.
