Ammit which is known as devourers or soul-eaters were demons in ancient Egyptian religion. Known also as a funerary deity, their titles include Devourer of the Dead, Eater of Hearts and Great of Death. The soul-eater was believed to live in the underworld where they weighed the heart of a person. If the heart was judged to be not pure, the Ammit would devour it, and the person undergoing judgement was not allowed to continue their voyage towards Orisis and immortality. Once a devourer swallowed the heart, the soul was believed to become restless forever and this situation was called to die a second time. The soul-eater however, was not worshipped; instead their existences were feared, threatening and being outcasted among human civilization. Nowadays, as the civilization grows, the Eaters of the Hearts are surviving along it, living and hiding among human and searching as well as cleaning the world from impure hearts and believing, one of the pure hearts could be breathing among the anonymous humans waiting to be their soulmate.
