Chapter 5
The Little Prince."Good night, your majesty." Jong Woon bowed to the Little Prince.
"Good night, Jong Woon, rest well." Ryeowook smiled, opening the door to his room and walking inside.
Even after two years of losing his mother, Jong Woon still missed her, night after night while he walked towards his house, he remembered her smile, her comforting words and how she was always eager to hear what he and Ryeowook did on that day. He wanted to have her back, nothing was the same anymore, his father seemed to pay less attention to the castle's security and even asked less about Ryeowook's state.
"I'm home..." He muttered, seeing his father at the table with other people that were supposed to be in charge of the gate's security.
"Go to rest, Jong Woon." He said without greeting him back or asking how his day was, keeping his gaze on a map that he was analysing with the others.
"Good night." He bowed, taking his shoes off and hurrying to his room.
He knew he wasn't supposed to think bad about his own family, but he was starting to feel worried, if the castle was unprotected, thieves and deserters from the kingdom were going to enter the castle and attack the kings and most importantly, the Little Prince too. Now that he had eighteen, everyone looked at him like the heir of the throne, like the next person in line that was going to rule the country, placing more expectations and demands on his thin shoulders; he didn't like how tired the Little Prince looked sometimes and how some of this people looked at him.
Sighing, he placed his sword on the small table next to his bed and lay down. The feelings towards the prince were still present despite his efforts to forget everything; he knew that the fact Ryeowook considered him his friend was an honour he didn't really deserve, that he couldn't push something more than that. Shaking his head a little, he closed his eyes, wanting to sleep and dream with his mother.
"I'll keep guarding Prince Ryeowook's room until midnight..." He said that morning while he and his father were having breakfast.
"Why would you do that? There's security on every door." His father said.
"The people that were in here last night were the guards of the main entrance" He trailed off, taking his plate off the table "The other day I saw a man walking around the gardens that didn't belong here and no one said anything to him."
"I'm making my work, Jong Woon, you do yours."
"That's what I'm doing; I was just letting you know."
It was painful for him how his relationship with his father became so tense after his mother's dead, they used to spend a lot of time when Jong Woon was younger, all he knew about self-defence and combats was thanks to him, he couldn't understand why his father acted like if he blamed Jong Woon for something.
"Good morning, Jong Woon, did you rest well?" Ryeowook asked when he stepped out of his room, smiling with that bright smile he had.
"Yeah, I hope you slept well too, Prince." He bowed, hiding his conflicted mind for himself.
They walked towards the library, where Ryeowook needed to study about things Jong Woon didn't really want to know about. He stood next to the window while he started to study with his teacher, his gaze lost in the garden, looking for someone that seemed suspicious. Something felt weird for him and he hated that kind of sensation, it remembered him the time when his mother died.
