Description
"He's dead pale. The opened window’s sun mixing with the artificial light of the classroom making his eyes look pitch-black in comparison to his white, shining face. As soon as he looks at me, though - his eyes hard with confusion as to why I was here - I know I can't ever trust him. His arched eyebrows tell me everything I need to know about him. He wasn’t used to new, unwanted people. For he seemed to think it was his place to rule and that he needed to keep tabs on everyone who entered or left the palace in which he was king. As he stared at me, curiosity laced into his dark eyes, I imagined him sitting on a throne, telling all of his peers to bow down before him. This is when I promised myself to never get to know anyone of the likes of him, for I realized that unfortunately that is how the innocent get flipped over, hanging by your feet, and all the life gets shaken out of you. For one innocently hidden mistake is all it takes to die a well-planned and well-hidden death."
Foreword
Esther Lee James – based off of her insane Mom’s succeeding plans to go to jail - decided it was time to move. A new school, a new town, a new life. No parents to worry about, illegally of course, and no financial issues – for she lived in a tent on the roof of a local library. But of course, with a new life comes new people. And although she tried her best at looking as threatening and unapproachable as possible - her puny stature adding no help to this plan - she does run into people she will never forget. JungKook is a rich, smart boy who deals only with things he wants to deal with. But don’t get excited, for Esther doesn’t become any kind of traditional, lovely Cinderella. For JungKook has thoughts – thoughts that could influence anyone who thinks them along with their behavior. These thoughts have not led him into anything bad until someone new shows up. Why? JungKook doesn’t know, but he knows that if he doesn’t figure it out that he may do some sick things, things Esther somehow got pulled into…and is maybe even the reason for.
