“Waaah~! Mommmy!”

Long long ago, one day,

5 year old Woohyun was crying alone in an unfamiliar playground, of an unfamiliar town he came holding his mom’s hand.

In between that few second where his mom wasn’t looking at him, he moved around, looking around, amazed at the every new sight.

But when he came back to his senses, he noticed that he was surrounded by the people he did not know, and was alone in this playground.

As a young kid, he was so frightened that his mom wasn’t around. Woohyun looked for her all around the town, panicking, but in the end, he came back.

He sat down on a swing.

His whole legs were hurting from looking for her, but even with that, still not able to find her, he started to cry.

“Why are you crying? That is my seat, you know.”

How long have he been crying, a boy appeared in front of crying Woohyun. A kid around his around his age was looking at him with his little but sparkling eyes.

Even with him asking Woohyun, about why Woohyun was sitting on his seat, he continued staring at him, grabbing a potato chip from the pack of chips he was holding.

But Woohyun continued crying, not caring if he was there or not.

For few more while, the boy continued to watch Woohyun, crunching on his potato chips. But, he soon said in a much louder voice, not being able withstand Woohyun crying anymore.

“My mom said Santa won’t give you gifts in Christmas if you cry, you know.”

“..waahh! waahh! Mommmmy..!”

As Woohyun was about to stop crying when the boy was looking at him, he started crying and sobbing once more at the ‘Mom + No-Gift-In-Christmas attack”.

Bewildered, not expecting that Woohyun would start crying louder, the boy stammered, playing with his fingers. While he was still bewildered, Woohyun started crying louder and louder, and to that he was starting to turn pale.

He opened his mouth once more as a idea came across his mind.

“H…Here! I will give you my chips! So stop crying!”

“….. Chips?”

“Ye....Yeah! It’s my favorite, but still…. here! I’ll give it to you!”

Even if he gave his chips to Woohyun, it was obvious in his eyes that he wanted it.

“What is your name? I’m Sunggyu. Kim Sunggyu.”

Sunggyu sat down on the other swing, and asked him. Woohyun murmured his name, while eating the chips.

“Namu hyun? Your name is Namu?”

“Nooo… Nam Woohyun”

“Uh…umm.... Okay,  Namu-ya!!

 Sunggyu called Woohyun ‘Namu’, probably young Woohyun couldn’t pronounce his name well, and also it was too difficult for young Sunggyu to understand it correctly. Soon he asked a question.

“Why were you crying here?”

Being asked, Woohyun stayed fidgeted for a while, but soon answered Sunggyu, looking up,

“I lost my mom…”

“..Oh my…”

Probably a young kid knows his fellow young friend’s mind., Sunggyu also made a face which looked like someone who lost his whole world. Sunggyu hurriedly started to sooth Woohyun down, who was on an urge of crying.

“Uhh.. Uhhh! Our moms always know where we are!!”

“…Really?”

“Y..Yeah, yeah! Really!”

“What…What if my mom doesn’t know?” Woohyun said making a I-am-about-to-cry face.

“Then.. Then..! You can also be my mom’s son! I will specially forgive you as older brother!” Sunggyu said as if he was older, even they were just same aged friends. Soon Woohyun’s face brightened.

Sunggyu stayed with him until sunset, saying he would wait for his mom to be there. When it was near dark, these two children’s, who already started a long-lasting friendship, waiting has came to end, as Woohyun mom, who was covered in tears, came for Woohyun. His mom held his hand tight, as Woohyun smiled at the warmth of his mother’s hand. Soon Woohyun waved his hand at Sunggyu smiling brightly. Sunggyu also waved his hand back, but in both of their eyes filled sadness from saying goodbye.
