"We'll take 2 regular coffees and 2 blueberry scones.” Quickly scribbling down their order, I turned to Sunglasses. 

“Coffee on New Years’ Eve? Eh~ Do you want me to add in one shot?” I joked, nudging his arm playfully.

He remained silent and the latter across from him chuckled and replied. “As tempting as it sounds, no, thank you, we’re fine.” What? Too special to say anything to a mere waitress? 

With a quick smile, I nodded and left. I tore the slip and and clipped it to the stand, before brewing the coffee. Pulling to scones from the refrigerator, I placed them in the toaster and set it for a minute. Leaning against the counter, I glanced at the clock on the wall. 11:04 pm. Sighing, I rubbed my eyes, attempting to lessen the sleepiness in them.

This is going to take forever.
