He was running.

His feet pounded the cement with every rapid step he took. He was zigzagging through traffic, heading to no particular direction. His heart was pumping, adrenaline rushed through his veins. He couldn’t go any faster but he had to keep going. He could hear their footsteps getting closer.

He just needed to run.

He needed to lose them.  

They were chasing him.

They will catch him.

They will hold him down.

She’s sitting there.

Her feet partially disturbed the ground underneath as she leaned back on the swings.   

She’s just sitting there. She’s just watching them.

They were playing tag. Some were doing hide and seek.

And she was just there to observe. Everything in the area seems to be moving fast. The boys were running, the girls were skipping. They were all actively doing something.

And there she was…just sitting.

Of course she couldn’t do much really.

Because if she even attempted to walk towards those other kids.

They will hold her down.
