Chapter Eight

Will You Dance With Me?

☙✨💖✨❧

“Awh, thank you for coming all the way out to visit our little Yoshi, but he's sleeping right now.” Soonyoung’s older sister Hana greeted them at the door.

“Is he doing any better?” Ji Min frowned. “Has his cold gotten any worse?”

“Well, his fever seems to have gone down at least. Hopefully, he’ll feel much better after resting.” She explained and gave Ji Min some hope. “Would you like me to tell him you dropped by?”

“Yes, please!” Ji Min nodded. “Thank you. We'll get going now. Make sure you don't catch a cold too!”

“I'll try!” Hana chuckled. “You two be safe on getting home!” She called after them with a wave. They waved back and she waited for them to disappear before shutting the front door.

“Was that Hongbin’s sister?” A voice asked when she returned to the living room. Hana currently had a guest over when Ji Min and Junhui stopped by.

“Yes,” Hana answered. “I'm surprised she came all this way to check on Soonyoung, they haven't known each other long.”

“I think it's because they bonded over dance during the gathering Friday night. I heard it from Hakyeon.” Nami smiled, she thought it was cute when people could bond over the same interest. “They must get along already.” She added while typing something up on her laptop. “Too bad I can't say the same for her and her brother.”

“Why?” Hana frowned at that reply.

“Well, it's not really my place to say, but all I can say is that they're not getting along currently. He opened up about it to me this morning at the studio. I felt bad… I could tell he feels horrible about it.”

“That's unfortunate.” She couldn’t imagine if she didn’t get along with Soonyoung, how hard it might be, especially if they live together, too. Naturally, all siblings fight to some extent, some more than others, some less than others. She couldn’t help wonder what it was that was keeping them from getting along? She can’t ask Nami since it really wasn’t her place to say. Either way, she really hoped the pair of siblings could patch things up between them because it won’t only affect them, but everyone around them, too. Feelings are contagious and it was clear by how down Nami seemed about it. It’s hard to see someone you care about going through a rough time.

Both of them fell into silence for a few moments before it was interrupted when they heard Soonyoung calling for his sister upstairs. “I'll be right back!” Nami nodded and gave a supportive smile. She knew it wasn't fun when siblings are sick. Though, Seungcheol is better at taking care of himself. It's the other way around, when Nami is sick it's like she's a kid again, she whines and cries and complains… like Soonyoung now. She felt sorry for him and worried that maybe they should take him to the hospital if the cold persists.

“I'm sorry, you can't eat anything that will irritate your throat,” Hana said while peeling the cooling pad off his forehead.

“I'm… so hungry.”

“I know, I can make you some soup?” He weakly nodded and she was relieved he didn't put up a fight about it. Before she left out the door, she stopped. “Oh yeah, Ji Min and Jun stopped by earlier, they wanted to check on you but you were asleep.”

“What?!” Soonyoung sat up so fast he nearly passed out.

“Careful!” She scolded. “And yes, she and Jun stopped by.”

“Why didn't you wake me?!” He frowned.

“... Hello, you're sick. You need your rest.” She looked at him like he had two heads. He almost felt like he had two heads too. “Even if I tried to wake you, you would have been so grumpy and make such a nice impression to the new girl. You should be thanking me that I thought ahead!”

Soonyoung only pouted in response and ran his hand through his messy bed hair. “Just get me the soup…” he muttered. Hana gave him a scolding look. “Please.”

“Sure, right on it, Yoshi!” She beamed and made her way out, leaving her brother complaining about her sister always saying his nickname wrong.

He fell back in bed and sighed. He coughed from irritating his throat and turned to his side to grab the half-full water bottle on his nightstand. It was still day two of being sick, but he hoped it wouldn't last more than three days. He set his water bottle back and noticed his phone. He grabbed it and lied down again.

He the screen and saw missed texts from his other friends. He felt missed and loved seeing the preview of the messages.

DK: Please rest a lot! 😢

Hannie-hyung: Get well soon! ❤

Cheol-hyung: If you need anything let me know 😊

Channie: Hyung! Please get better, don't be sick! 😭

Gyuuu: Be sure to take your medicine! 😤

HaoHao: Get well, punk 😒 take better care of your health!

He quietly chuckled to himself. Not everyone had texted him and he didn't expect everyone to know and drop everything and come over. Thinking about that, he really wished he hadn't been sleeping when Junhui and Ji Min dropped by. He started to imagine how it would have gone and started to have a ridiculous daydream.

Junhui wasn't even a part of it, just Ji Min. Go figure. She was painstakingly sweet to him and brought chicken noodle soup and even fed it to him. She checked his forehead with the back of her hand and caressed his cheek while pouting, telling him he needs to get better so they could go out and have fun again. He promised he would and then that cliché moment of an almost kiss started to happen until he was snapped out of it by his sister’s fiancé. He walked in on him kissing his phone screen when he brought up the soup Hana prepared.

Taekwoon had returned from morning errands and wanted to check on the sick guy so he offered to bring the soup. He was now regretting it. “What are you doing?” Taekwoon asked, staring at him from the door with a look of concern.

Soonyoung flinched and was startled. He looked to see Taekwoon standing there and his phone slipped from his fingers onto his chest. “Oh! Hi…” Soonyoung gave a weak smile and sat up too fast again. He fell back onto his pillow and looked unconscious. Taekwoon worried and rushed over to check on him

“Hey, Soonyoung!” He asked while patting his cheek to wake him. “Soonyoung!”

“Yes, Ji Min?” Soonyoung responded with his eyes closed and a loopy smile. He reached out to grab “her” to pull close. He puckered his lips and was ready to kiss.

🌟

“Did he like the soup?” Hana asked when Taekwoon returned downstairs.

“There's something wrong with your brother.” He looked traumatized. “He tried to kiss me!”

“What?!” Hana was shocked but couldn't help but laugh at the same time. Nami was also amused at how flustered he was about it.

“He's daydreaming about that new girl.” He explained. “It seems he's really fond of her already.”

“How cute!” Nami cooed. “His fever must've come back and he's hallucinating.”

“Damn, guess someone should go put another cooling pad on his delulu forehead.” Hana sighed. Immediately, Taekwoon made an “x” with his arms. Nami did the same.

“He's your brother.” Nami pointed out when Hana also made an “x” with her arms, a little too late. Just then the front door opened and in walked their friend Wonshik.

“Hey!” He greeted. “What’s up?” He tilted his head when he saw three of his friends making “x”s with their arms.

🌟

“Ahh, get off me!” The three could hear Wonshik shout from upstairs. He was the chosen one to put the cooling pad on Soonyoung’s delulu forehead. They sipped on their freshly steeped tea and ignored their friend’s cries for help. They were sure Soonyoung just wanted a kiss and nothing more. No harm was done, other than Wonshik never trusting his friends again.

“Wow, this is delicious!” Ji Min beamed after taking her first bite of authentic Chinese food. “How can I ever go back to takeout now!”

“Takeout is bad for you.” Junhui chuckled. She gave a sheepish laugh in response. “Whenever you want this kind of food, let me know, I’ll come with you.” He said with his friendly smile. That really was his intent, to be friendly but he noticed her get quiet and shy. “Uh, I’m not hitting on you if that’s what you think?” He gave an awkward laugh. He heard from Minghao about the time at the burger joint, when Mingyu thought Ji Min was flirting with him. It seemed so easy to say something sweet and be misunderstood these days.

“Oh, no! Of course not!” She was embarrassed. “It’s just… maybe we could come with other friends? I don’t mean that I don’t want to eat lunch alone with you, there’s nothing wrong in that! I don’t mind! It’s just… it’d be fun if we brought the others with us next time?”

“That’s no problem.” He smiled and thought her way of over-explaining herself was adorable, in a platonic way, it reminded him of his dear friend Ji Ah. “The others as in Won Woo, right?” He asked with a knowing smile.

“And Hoshi too!” She blurted out and avoided his teasing grin. “And perhaps your other friends like Jisoo and Mingyu… Minghao.”

“Yes. That would be fun. Inviting the other girls would be fun too, though, I might go broke if we brought all of them at the same time.”

“Oh, that’s right, there’s like 20 of you, right?”

“I think so.” Junhui paused and started to count on his fingers, she giggled at his surprised expression when he finished counting all of his friends. “It doesn’t seem like that much since we don’t normally all meet up at the same time.”

“That’s okay, All of them at once would be overwhelming.” She assured him. “But it could be fun, too?”

“That can be arranged!” Junhui perked up. “We’ll be celebrating Won Woo’s birthday on the 17th, so maybe we can all gather then.”

“Oh yeah, his birthday is this week.” She nodded, that look of realization on her face. “That sounds like fun. Where will you be holding it?”

“Maybe at the park or something. I don’t think the girls started planning yet.”

“Do they plan the birthday parties in the group?”

“Yes, and our friend Seungkwan, too.” Junhui nodded. “If you want to help plan, I can let them know.”

“Sure, I’d like to help with that!” Ji Min beamed and Junhui grinned. Of course, she’s known Won Woo longer than the rest of us. “I have a few ideas in mind.”

“Then I’ll be sure to let the girls know to contact you.”

“Thank you!” Ji Min was now excited. She hoped to make up for her absence to Won Woo through a spectacular birthday party, with all his favorite things. She planned to see about having his party at a place known for cheeseburgers because it’s his favorite food. Afterward, they could go to the arcade because he loves games. Maybe they could end it with present giving at his house, it’d be nice to see his home filled with his friends… he wouldn’t have such lonely memories about it anymore then, would he? She couldn’t help but smile at the thought.

“Ji Min?” Junhui snapped her out of it. “Are you ready to leave?” He asked after cleaning up their table to make it easier for their waiter. He had asked for the bill, too.

“Sure!” She nodded. “I should probably head back and check on Won Woo.”

“Is he okay?” Junhui was worried by her comment.

“Ah, well, he was originally going to take me to see Hoshi, but he wasn’t feeling well, so that’s why I contacted you. I’m worried if he might also be catching a cold. I probably should check on him after this.”

“Please do.”

“I will!” She gave a warm smile and Junhui felt relieved that Ji Min was around to check on Won Woo. Usually, he just ignores him and the others when he’s not feeling well, but he had a feeling Won Woo wouldn’t ignore Ji Min for somewhat obvious reasons. There’s no arguing about it, Won Woo likes her, I’m sure of it. He thought on their walk back to her street. The only problem is… Soonyoung seems to like her now, too. He wasn’t sure who he should be supporting and felt conflicted. Someone was going to get hurt by the end of all this, unfortunately. But that’s life. You don’t always get what you want and you can’t force it either. The universe can be so cruel sometimes.

It was mid-afternoon when Junhui walked Ji Min back home. She exchanged a few more words with him about the upcoming plans for Won Woo’s birthday before he took his leave and she waved him off. Before she started to unlock the front door, she remembered it. That's right, I should go check on Won Woo. She thought and quickly headed over. She rang the bell and waited. After a moment she rang it again. This time the door opened and she was still greeted with his grumpy expression. Like he was mad at her but she couldn't be so sure.

“Won Woo?” She asked. “Are you okay?” She had noticed his face looked a bit paler now and he looked tired.

“No. I’m not okay.” He simply said, not facing her and stared at the ground. His reply had her seriously worried now and she tried to think of what she could do to make it better. Then she remembered she had an extra fortune cookie from earlier when she ate lunch with Junhui. Chinese food. He mentioned how it’s not authentic but the restaurant they went to thought to include it.

“Here.” She pulled it out of her pocket and held it out to him. He looked at it before shaking his head. “C’mon! Maybe it’s something silly?!” She unwrapped it and placed it in his hand. He only looked at her before looking down at it. He broke the cookie in half and pulled out the fortune, making sure that the worded side was down. That’s when he noticed her looking away as if to give him privacy. “What does it say?” She asked.

The love of your life will appear in front of you unexpectedly!

“I’m not reading it out loud.” He answered with a faint smile on his lips. She turned back to him looking eager to see what kind of fortune he got.

“Whoa, you got a love fortune?!” She gawked at the tiny paper. “Mine said: Nothing is impossible to a willing heart.” She pulled out hers to show him. “We didn’t get anything silly…”

“Why do you sound disappointed?” He asked with a hint of laughter. At least his mood was brightening up, just like she wanted.

“I dunno, I just get a kick out of the silly ones and how accurate they are!” She grinned. “Speaking of accurate?! What if these are accurate, too?! Oh my god, the love of your life will appear in front of you unexpectedly… I wonder who that could be?” She stared at the small fortune with narrowed eyes. “Do you think she’ll appear in front of you tomorrow? Or next week?”

“I think she’s already appeared in front of me countless times before…” he said softly while smiling at her. If she’s going to be that clueless, then I suppose it’s safe to say things like this in front of her… His fortune seemed pretty accurate if you ask him. Love is a strong word, but he could see it, Ji Min being the love of his life. And how she appeared out of nowhere one sunny summer day… unexpectedly.

“Really?!” She gasped and looked shocked. “So, do you and Mei Yi have a thing going on?!”

“No!” He frowned instantly.

“If not her, then… that Vampire!!!!”

“Shut up!” He complained, reaching over to cover with his hand. “We’ve already established it’s a she! Mingyu is a he!”

“Things change!” She teased only to earn another glare from him.

“Whatever.” He mumbled while bringing a hand to his forehead, for a split second he felt a bit dizzy.

“Hey!” She grabbed onto his arm to keep him balanced. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” He shrugged her off.

“You don’t look fine.” She frowned and noticed there was definitely something wrong with him this time. “Go inside, I’ll make you some tea.”

“You don’t have to do that. You should just go home…”

“No way.” She reached over and tugged on his arm to guide him to the staircase. “Your parents aren’t home, I don’t want you to be home alone while you’re sick. Go lie down.”

“No, really… I’m fine.” He protested but she tugged on his arm harder.

“Stop protesting and get your upstairs. I’ll take care of you!” She snickered.

He decided in the end not to protest as he didn’t have the energy to do so anymore. This was a better option for him too… since he didn’t have anyone at home to take care of him unless he called up Mingyu, which he didn’t want to bother his friend like this.

Once they were upstairs, Ji Min had Won Woo lie down on his bed and she brought him freshly steeped tea moments later. “Drink the tea and try to rest.” He nodded and took a few sips of the tea from the thermos she brought him. “You can watch some TV until you fall asleep. I’ll be here watching after you.”

“Thanks, though I’d prefer music...”

“That’s fine, no problem. Do you have a stereo or something you put on?” She asked and glanced around his room for it.

“I just use my phone.” He mentioned and pointed to his nightstand. “I’ll just connect it to the charger after putting on a playlist.”

“Okay, sounds good.” She beamed. “By the way, are you hungry?”

“No, but I bet you are.” He chuckled. She gave a sheepish smile, despite eating with Junhui, she still had room for more food. “You can go down and see if there are any snacks.” She nodded and left the room. Won Woo watched her exit his room with a fond smile. She’s taking care of me… he felt warm on the inside. This was nice. He’s been too used to being alone when sick these past three years, but that’s changed now that he has her by his side again. He can recall the times they took care of each other when they were sick back in Changwon and it brought a smile to his lips. He continued to think back on those memories until sleep slowly took over and continued in his dreams.

☙✨💖✨❧

About two hours had passed since she left Won Woo to rest in his room. She stayed out of his way hoping he would fall asleep sooner without her distracting him. She knew it was hard to sleep if someone was watching you, not like she’d be watching him… okay, maybe she would just to monitor his health. From what she could tell so far, it looked like he was coming down with just a fever, probably from stress.

I wonder what he’s been stressing about lately? She thought to herself as she turned the TV off in the living room, she had kept herself occupied with it after coming downstairs earlier. She pulled at her skinny jeans a bit because of the knee sleeve underneath. It was kind of irritating. She felt like she should take it off in the bathroom but worried if her knee would give her problems later, she doesn't know when she's going home to be honest.

Won Woo was sound asleep by now when she came back to his room. Quietly she entered the room and stood beside his bed. Seeing Won Woo’s peacefully sleeping face was always a new experience for her. As someone who rarely slept in front of her, she always thought it was cute to see. Then a familiar song started to play on his phone…

Beast - Midnight

She could remember listening to the same song many times before, the lyrics always got to her when she was lonely. Then she wondered why he was listening to such sad songs? She took a peek at his phone and noticed it was a playlist labeled as Sad Music. Well, I suppose just because it’s sad music doesn’t necessarily mean you’re sad. Maybe he just likes the song… they could like it for different reasons, for him could be as harmless as just liking it and for her because the lyrics are relatable and describe her feelings for the most part. The thought put a sad smile on her lips. She wondered what other songs he liked? So she took some time to listen to his playlist while sitting on the floor next to his bed.

Eventually, she realized she was probably being creepy, just watching him sleep while listening to music like this and decided maybe she should leave again until he shifted in his sleep and his side(like the visual above). Gosh, he really is cute when he’s sleeping like this! Then she suddenly blushed at her own thought. Cute as in… just cute right? She shook her head to snap out of it and started to turn away. She was sure she would have thought the same thing about Soonyoung earlier if she had seen him sleeping, so it wasn't anything weird. So she thinks at least. She’s decided to ignore and fight off her weird feelings for Won Woo because she felt like maybe she really was confusing herself. You’re my best friend… that’s all, right?

“Ji… Min.” Won Woo muttered in his sleep.

“... how cliché.” She whispered to herself with a small laugh. She waited for him to mumble anything else. When a few minutes passed, she decided to finally leave… but then he mumbled something again.

“Don’t leave… me…” those memories that followed him into his dreams had taken a turn, his peaceful expression distorting into sadness and pain, he was dreaming of the day they parted ways and he hated it. He never wanted to leave her.

Those three words made her heartache just a bit when he said it. Given his background, she felt so bad. It made her think about how he must’ve felt when she disappeared so suddenly like that. Her poor decision must’ve hurt him more than the first time with his other friend. But at least she came back to him. Regardless, in a way, she left him. I’m sorry. She wondered if she told him everything, would he really understand? Or would it not make a difference? Would it just sound like an excuse? Is there such a thing as not being judged at all?

She carefully knelt down by his bed and stayed there watching over him. “I don’t know who’s leaving you, but it sure won’t be me a second time.” She said softly, reaching over to his hair a bit, why she thought to do that was a mystery to her as well. Ji Min had sat there on the floor by Won Woo’s bed for almost 30 minutes by now, she just couldn't stop admiring his peacefully sleeping face. She felt bad that he had caught a fever from stress, though at least he was sleeping well now after her gentle touch.

Earlier when she his hair, she must've done it a hundred times before stopping, getting lost in that cute fuzzy feeling about how soft his hair was, almost like when she used to pet fluffy long haired cats before she found out she was allergic, it was almost addicting! It wasn't until she realized what she was actually doing and stopped immediately. Isn't that something couples do?! She thought to herself, feeling her cheeks warm up.

She sat there feeling so conflicted. I can't think of him like that! It's weird? He's my friend. He was my dance partner… sure we get along sometimes but he's a total jerk half the time! How can I like someone with a terrible attitude? Even if she had come up with reasons not to like Won Woo…

She shook her head with a small sigh. No… this can't be it. This feeling was there before…? One of the lyrics from that Midnight song suddenly came to mind “I don’t want to talk about things that have passed but I guess I really liked you a lot…” She was hunched over on the floor now, thinking about it all. She recalled all the moments Won Woo had been there when she was in trouble, back in Changwon. She even thought about how empty she felt when he left and when she stopped talking to him.

Meeting again after two years of silence, she could not describe how happy she was to see him, even if it didn't show that well. She had missed him a lot more than she thought she did.

 ☙✨💖✨❧

It was quiet when Won Woo woke up, his music player must’ve stopped working at some point, it’s happened a few times before and he was a bit annoyed. His eyes fluttered open and he was greeted by the ceiling. Did I fall asleep? He really didn’t plan on it earlier, but it just happened. He frowned when he noticed Ji Min sitting on the floor near his bed, asleep… while sitting up and leaning on the nightstand. That idiot! He thought while sitting up quickly to catch her from falling over, he supposed he woke up just in time to save her. Don’t they call that fate?

Fate or not, an unconscious person sure is a lot heavier than he thought! He struggled at first to get her to sit upright. Once he had her upright he heard her groan a bit, like a kid who didn’t want to be woken up from her nap, even her expression said it with her eyebrows knitting together in annoyance, discomfort. He chuckled quietly while sliding off his bed and knelt down in front of her and looked at her sleeping figure. That must be uncomfortable, maybe I should put her on the bed?

He proceeded to scoop her up in his arms carefully. Then turned to the bed. “Great…” he muttered, suddenly wondering how he was going to put her down… he was worried he’d lose his balance and they’d both go falling down together. He thought about it for a moment before adjusting her in his arms to ensure he had a better hold on her, but when he did so she woke up, or at least that’s what Won Woo thought. She was half asleep when she muttered out his name before her arms reached out and wrapped around his neck.

He stiffened at the small action, his brain shutting down for a second at the warm feeling he got when she did that. Was he shocked? Was he nervous? Was he… happy?

“What are you doing?” He heard her mumble against his shoulder.

“Putting you to bed.” He replied calmly and took this chance to put her down and was gentle about it. It was like he was holding a fragile doll, a beautiful fragile doll. He wore a sad smile as he watched her cute sleeping face. He adored it… a lot. I'm such a creep. He thought to himself, holding back a small laugh. He didn't want to wake her. But after admiring her sleeping form again, he found himself leaving to change into his pajamas before crawling onto his bed to lie beside her.

He lied on his side with one arm supporting his head as he watched her sleep. Isn't this something couples do? He thought amused with a small smile. After some time, he reached over and started to her hair, recalling the weird dream he had of her his hair. Okay, that wasn't a dream, he was awake when she did that and he was glad he was. Ji Min, are you like me? He wondered. Too stubborn and scared to admit anything? Or are you really just that clueless?

Just as he stopped her hair, she caught his hand before he could pull it back and forced it back to her head as if she was telling him to keep her hair. He couldn't help but grin at that, remembering that he heard from Jeonghan’s girlfriend that girls usually like it when a guy their hair. He stopped again, just to test this theory…

She didn't grab his hand this time and even if he was a little disappointed, he assumed maybe she woke up when he put her in bed but his gesture helped her go back to sleep. What am I going to do with you? He sighed.

Now that she was asleep, he worried about later when her brothers come home, his parents too. They don't know, do they? I doubt we'd be in trouble. He assured himself. He turned and grabbed his phone off the nightstand. He missed a few texts from his friends but one stood out the most. One from his mother.

Mom: Be sure to lock up the house tonight, your father and I won't be home because of deadlines. Take care of yourself! Love you ❤

Well, he supposed he wouldn't have to worry about his parents finding out he has a girl in his bed right now. He snickered at how that sounded in his head. They know who Ji Min is, he was sure they wouldn't be so shocked, surprised, but they probably wouldn't be suspicious about it. Her brothers on the other hand…

He noticed her phone peeking out from the pocket of her skinny jeans and he decided maybe he should put it on the nightstand in case she shifts around and it becomes uncomfortable. When he did, the screen from hitting the power button and he could see she missed texts from Soo Min, Jun, and Hoshi. He scowled at that one name.

The preview made him snicker and roll his eyes.

Hoshi~☆: I heard you came to check on me!

Thanks for thinking about me, sorry I missed you! 😢

He swiped the message off from the notification bar, feeling petty. Then her phone buzzed again and it was from her older brother, Jaehwan.

Jaehwan: I won't be home tonight, Hongbin is staying at his

studio because of a deadline, so please make sure to lock up the house!

I'll try to be home for dinner tomorrow, think of what you'd like to eat.

I'll see you then! 😙 Sweet dreams, JiJi~❤

He has nothing to worry about at all now, but he couldn't help but feel conflicted. If she hadn't come to check on him, he would have been all alone. She would have been all alone as well. Things happen for a reason, right? He wondered in thought. He really didn't mind this, though, if she wants to go home later when she wakes up, he won't protest. For now, he'll cherish the time she's here with him, even if she was sleeping like Sleeping Beauty.

He got comfortable next to her again and thought back on old memories they had together and turned to his side once more to admire her. She was just too pretty, he could watch her for hours and suddenly grinned. Soonyoung would probably never get the chance to do this, huh? He was quite pleased, he wins, right?

☙✨💖✨❧

Ji Min woke up in the middle of the night and noticed she wasn't in her own bed or her room. Where am I? She thought curiously. This is… Won Woo’s room? Wait… Won Woo! Is he still sick- when she turned to her other side she saw him lying beside her staring up at the ceiling. “Won Woo?!” She blurted out and startled him.

“Damn it, don't do that!” He clutched his racing heart. “Are you trying to give me a heart attack?”

“What happened?” She frowned. “I fell asleep here?”

“Yeah.” He mumbled while sitting up after she did. “Your brother texted that they won't be home tonight, I didn't want to wake you… so...” he shrugged.

“They're not coming home?” She looked so disappointed and he felt that. He’s been there and it doesn’t feel nice at all. She looked for the time and saw it on the digital clock on his nightstand. “It's… 2 am?!”

“Really?” Won Woo was shocked… he had been lying there with her for almost 7 hours? He only napped for a few hours, shouldn’t he still be tired?

“I should go home.” She frowned when it came to mind. “Oh right, are you feeling better?” She reached over to check if his fever was gone. It had gone down but was still present.

“Just a little.” He said quietly. “I still feel like .” Not entirely.

“Ah, maybe you need to sleep! Just lie down. You can have your bed back! Sorry!”

“No, it's fine, there's room.” He assured her with a light chuckle. “You can spend the night here.” He added with a small hopeful smile.

“That's okay, I'll go home. I don't want my brothers to get mad if they found out I never went home.”

“They won't be mad.” He blurted out. “Because they won't know if you don't tell them.”

“But…” she was confused and a bit nervous. She suddenly felt like a sneaky teenager, waking up in a teenage guy’s room without her brothers knowing. Now that teenage guy was telling her to stay with him longer. It felt scandalous and made her feel flustered. Is he really serious? He's really telling me to stay with him? She wasn't expecting this from him. Or maybe it’s something else?

“... I just don't want to be alone.” He sighed while looking away.

Seeing the lonely expression on his face got to her, that must be it. “Okay, I'll stay with you.” She said in a soft voice. It doesn't feel so scandalous anymore when he puts it that way and she was relieved. “Where do I sleep?” She asked.

“Here.” He gestured to his bed. “With me.”

She stared at him, her brain glitched for a moment. This doesn't seem right. “You were sick earlier, it’s probably best if I sleep on the couch or something. You should be resting. What if I get sick too?” She wasn't entirely sure if his fever was from stress or if he was coming down with something like Soonyoung.

“I’ll take care of you.” He gave a small smile. “I’ll always take care of you, sick or not.”

“You say that now, but the moment you’re seriously sick it’ll be different.” She chuckled.

“I’m serious, though.” He pouted.

“Okay.” She nodded, assuring she understood but did she really? She just thinks I’m being nice again or something, isn’t she? He mentally sighed. “It’s late, we should try to go back to sleep.” He agreed and stopped her from getting up and pulled her down to lie next to him.

LOL IN OUR DREAMS

“Stay… with me.” He said softly and she figured she must. Even though she worried about getting sick as well, she did think sleeping alone on the couch wouldn’t work out, she'd probably be up all night. His bed is more comfortable anyway. She accepted it and got comfortable on her side of the bed while he did the same. At first, it seemed awkward for the two but it quickly changed after a bit. This wouldn’t be the first time sleeping beside each other, they have many times before back in Changwon.

The times they went camping with their fellow dance class for a ‘bonding’ experience, they always slept in the same tent together, meaning they always slept beside each other. Even if it was only about 10 times (a yearly trip once a year for a three day weekend)… it wasn’t a big deal. Back then it was rare to see him sleep because he always woke up before she did or didn’t sleep until she was asleep. Now that she thought about it… Did he always make sure I fell asleep before he did? Did he always make sure he was awake before me… was he always looking after me?

“Goodnight, Won Woo. I hope you’re feeling better in the morning.” She gave him a kind smile before closing her eyes and getting comfortable under the covers.

“Thanks.” He managed to get out before doing the same. Instead of going to sleep, he opted to watch and see how fast she would fall asleep with him present. It was true that he always made sure she went to sleep alright during those few times they had to sleep in the tent. She had admitted long ago that she has trouble sleeping sometimes and he just didn’t want her to be left alone while wide awake through the whole night. He wondered if things have changed since then?

Not even a minute later… “What's wrong?” He asked when he noticed her rubbing her arms under the blanket.

“It's cold.” She barely said. It was always something small like this that would be an issue for her to sleep peacefully. But he noticed she didn't seem that cold and wondered if this was her way of saying she felt lonely?

A few seconds later she felt him put another blanket on her. He had left to fetch one for her and she thought it was so sweet! “Thanks.” She said softly.

“You’re welcome.” He replied while getting back into the bed and under the cover. He tried to get comfortable but it was hard because he was also getting cold but didn’t want to get up a second time. He sighed and hugged himself under the blanket before he felt Ji Min shifting in the bed next to him.

“Why didn’t you get yourself another blanket too?” She scolded and tried to spread the second blanket over the both of them. He didn’t reply only because what does he say? She could tell he felt like an idiot by the expression he had, like a pouty little kid and she giggled to herself. “That’s okay, we can share.” He smiled at her kind gesture. She’s always been kind to him whenever it came to small things such as this… there were even times when she’d share her food and that’s a really big thing for Lee Ji Min, sharing food.

After a few moments in silence, Ji Min sighed again. “What is it?” Won Woo asked, a little worried and turned his head towards her.

“It’s still cold.” She complained. “Why is your room so cold?! It’s supposed to be summer, right?”

“I don’t know.” He snickered. “I really don’t know. I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine. I’m just being dramatic, that’s all. You know me, I’m picky about a lot of things.” She confessed and rubbed her arms under the blanket in hopes to help warm up.

“I know, you’re just like Goldie Locks, not too hot, not too cold, but just right.”

“At least the bed is just right.” She giggled at his comment and he laughed in reply too. It was adorable. “Seriously though, don’t you have a warmer blanket?” She asked. She was sure since it was summer, he put them away so he doesn’t get overheated at night, but for some reason, it was especially cold tonight.

“Just get closer.” He gestured for her to move towards him. “If I get a warmer blanket, you’ll complain it’s too hot later.” He could hear her groan in complaint but listened to him. “This doesn’t have to be weird, we’re just trying to keep warm.”

“Did you have to point it out?” She snickered at him. “You’re gonna make it weird by saying it’s not weird. I get it! I suppose we used to stay in the same tent together, how is this any different?”

“Because we’re in my bed.”

“Just shut up!” She started to get embarrassed and he laughed at her expression before she shifted and had her back towards him. She’s so cute. “Go to sleep!” She scolded.

“Goodnight. Sweet dreams.” He teased and his side, facing her back. She was a lot closer than before and he was starting to feel less cold now.

“Hey?” She asked after a few moments in that position.

“Hmm?” He hummed in reply and she thought about what she was going to say.

“Ah, nevermind.” She chickened out. “It’s nothing.”

“Are you sure?” He wanted to know. He couldn’t see her face, he wasn’t sure what it could have been, but it sounded like she wanted to say something and it was probably something serious?

“Yeah, I already forgot, I’m so tired.” She said with a sheepish tone.

“That’s okay, just sleep. I’ll be here.” He said softly and those words warmed her heart. She smiled and was thankful he couldn’t see it or he might about it. She too was feeling less cold now.

A moment later, she guided his hand to her hair again and he smiled when she did so. It was a sweet feeling and felt nice for him to touch her soft hair. He liked it more than he thought he would. Eventually, his gentle put her to sleep along with his warmth. If she were a cat, she’d definitely be purring right about now. Won Woo was quite pleased with the situation. Even if it was not what it seemed, he was happy to have her close like this, and sleeping peacefully. There was no telling when something like this would happen again, so he enjoyed it for a bit longer until he knew she was asleep before letting his own fatigue take over. He just wanted to make sure she was sleeping okay because he always did.

“Won Woo!” Ji Min yelled from the bottom of the staircase the next morning. “Wake up already!”

Hearing her voice from downstairs, Won Woo jolted up immediately in bed. What the hell?! How did she get downstairs without waking me?! He rolled out of bed and rushed down to check on her…

Palli, Palli~!

Reaching the kitchen, he saw that she had prepared some breakfast. “Gosh, I thought you were never going to wake up.” She giggled at the doorway. “Come and eat!” She gestured and disappeared off into the kitchen. He stood there for a moment and a smile slowly spread across his lips. Did she stay with me the entire night? This was the only time he didn’t wake up before her, so he couldn’t be sure, but he had a feeling she did. Once again, he had that feeling of it just… feeling right. Waking up to Ji Min who cooked him breakfast, he wanted this more often.

When he entered the kitchen, he saw a completed breakfast set out on the table and was impressed. It looked delicious. “You made all of this?”

“Ah, well…” she gave a sheepish smile. Just then, his mother returned to the kitchen and smiled brightly at Won Woo.

“Good morning!” She walked over and gave him a quick hug and kiss to his cheek. He seemed stunned and Ji Min giggled at his reaction. “Gosh, he’s so used to me never being here that he can’t comprehend it!”

Won Woo: What’s going on? Where am I? Who am I?

(lol sorry for the annoying gif inserts but it’s too funny not to show it!)

“Mom?” Won Woo was really confused. “You don’t have work today?”

“Not until later.” She said with a frown. “But I at least have time to eat breakfast with my son and his girlfriend!” She watched Won Woo look shocked yet amused by her comment. On the other hand, Ji Min looked embarrassed. “She is your girlfriend, right?” His mother chuckled. She seemed hopeful and it reminded him of the many times she’s tried to find a suitable wife for him. Did she have her eyes on Ji Min now that she’s back in his life?

“Well, I am a girl and his friend.” Ji Min said awkwardly. It made her think back on that night when Soo Min and Jeonghan tried asking if they were on a date. And the night Hongbin asked if she had been on a date with Won Woo. This would be the third time they’re mistaken as something more than friends and she honestly didn’t know how to feel, good or bad?

“I don’t understand?” His mother pouted. “I came home and saw you two sleeping in bed together?” He was amazed at how okay she was about that, shouldn’t she be angry and scold Won Woo for being irresponsible? They could have been having unprotected for all she knew and she was unphased by this?

Won Woo: *Still trying to wake up…*

Ji Min’s my girlfriend? I’ve entered a parallel universe or something?

“Ah, Won Woo was just being nice and there was room on his bed and I was really tired so…” Ji Min was getting completely flustered and his mother thought it was adorable. Won Woo seemed entertained and chuckled.

“That’s right.” He confirmed. “We’re just friends.” He added. He smiled even though it hurt him to say it.

“Yes, just friends. We used to share a tent together during our camping trips for dance practice.” Ji Min repeated and tried to hide the weird feeling she got when she heard him say it himself. We’re really just friends, nothing more. They happened to lock eyes with each other from across the room and Won Woo’s mother noticed it. They seemed… unhappy with their answers.

“My mistake, I’m sorry!” She apologized with an apologetic smile. Perhaps not just yet. She thought. “Just forget I said anything, shall we eat now?” She gestured to the table of food. The two teenagers snapped out of their thoughts and agreed. They were able to put it behind them and enjoy the food while chatting with Won Woo’s mother. Mrs. Jeon did most of the talking and chatted up a thunderstorm with Ji Min while Won Woo listened and subtly watch Ji Min from his seat.

Won Woo: *not happy*

They talked about old memories of when they ate breakfast together a few times back in Changwon, because Ji Min had slept over occasionally, but not in the same bed with him, on an air mattress they bought just for her so she’d have a more comfortable place to sleep. Their old house really didn’t have guest rooms at the time. Their current house was a big improvement from before.

“We actually have a guest room this time.” His mother pointed out and Ji Min paused and looked to Won Woo, who seemed to avoid the conversation now. Like he was caught. Sleeping in his bed was unnecessary then?! But he said he didn’t want to be alone last night, so I can understand. She probably wouldn’t have slept in the guest room anyway if he told her, she’s the type that has a hard time sleeping in unfamiliar places, at least with him by her side she was able to sleep.

Her cheeks started to feel warm thinking about how she really slept in his bed last night. They’ve slept in tents, but there was more room, unlike his bed. She had woken up to his arms around her after she had fallen asleep. Since she had her back towards him, he seemed to latch himself to her from behind, his arms around her waist and his face cuddled into her back like he was hugging his favorite pillow. And just her luck, his mother walked in on them like that. She was clearly shocked but not angry and instead, excited. It was embarrassing. She managed to get out of his hold so she could get up and properly meet with his mother. She didn’t get a chance to explain what just happened since his mother dragged her down to the kitchen to start breakfast, she only had till noon before she would have to head into work.

Just as she was thinking back on that, Won Woo’s mother brought it up and excused herself from the table so she could go get ready. That left her and Won Woo at the table alone. There was an awkward silence between them and she really disliked that. But she didn’t want to bring it up and make it even more awkward either. So they just sat there in silence, feeling those conflicting emotions. He also had thought about bringing it up and possibly apologizing on his mother’s behalf for making such a comment. But he admits, he would think the same if he walked in on his son in bed with a girl.

The silence was killing him. He wanted to say something but had trouble coming up with the words. She was avoiding his gaze and he felt even worse. She must be uncomfortable. He thought. She really doesn’t see us like that… but he does. How did they do it? How do guys confess to the girls they like? He began to wonder and let his head fall back in defeat. Why did it have to be this complicated?

“Okay, I’m off!” His mother’s loud and energetic voice sounded off in the kitchen doorway and nearly gave him a heart attack, he nearly fell out of his seat and he could hear Ji Min giggling at him. “Sorry, sorry!” His mother chuckled and came over to give him a hug goodbye and a kiss to his cheek again. “Let’s have breakfast together again soon!”

“Sure.” Ji Min really didn’t mind, even though it was a bit awkward with the girlfriend comment, but they can get past it, she’s sure. Just a silly mistake, that’s all. “Nice. That was way more than just three minutes.” Ji Min mentioned after Won Woo’s mother just left out the front door. “Congratulations!”

“Thanks.” Won Woo seemed to be in a very good mood now because of it.

“Well, I guess I should go home now.” She could see his mood start to deflate when she mentioned that and started to wonder if maybe he had thought the same thing earlier when they said they were just friends. I mean… we’ve grown up. We’re not kids anymore and… A lot of girls my age have already had their first boyfriend but me… it’s not something that should matter to her because she’s devoted to dancing, she shouldn’t be thinking about boys and relationships. She won’t have time for it. Yeah, just forget it. She let out a small sigh and turned away to head to the front door.

“Wait, what’s wrong?” Won Woo managed to stop her from leaving.

“It’s nothing. Don’t worry about it.” She looked over her shoulder with a smile. “Take it easy, don’t get sick again, okay?” She added before continuing out the front door.

Won Woo couldn’t help but feel concerned by the way she left. He was hoping she wasn’t also getting sick… or if he said something wrong? I don’t know what I could have possibly said to upset her? It would be a mystery to him for a while. What should I do? He wondered and watched her walk down the street to her brother’s house. When she finally made it inside, he sighed and was about to shut the door until he saw someone running up the walkway to the front door. It was the friendly giant, Mingyu.

“What are you doing here?” Won Woo pouted.

“Jun told me he heard from Ji Min that you weren’t feeling well. I thought to come to check on you!” Mingyu explained, out of breath from running.

“Well, thanks for thinking of me, but I’m fine now.”

“That’s good!” Mingyu seemed happy to hear about that. “Too bad we can’t say the same for Hoshi.”

“He’s still sick?” Won Woo frowned.

“Unfortunately.” Mingyu nodded. “I was planning on bringing him some soup today after I came to check on you first.”

Won Woo snickered at that. I was first pick. The pettiness was still there. “I’ll go with you.”

“Really? Are you sure?”

“Why are you questioning it?” Won Woo frowned. “We’re friends, of course, I want to check on him!” Even though he didn’t want to yesterday, but that was different, he wasn’t feeling like himself from the fever. Today is different. “Let’s go!” He pushed his friend out of the house and shut the door behind him.

“Wait, hyung… you’re not even dressed to go out!” Mingyu pointed and Won Woo looked down to see he was only wearing his white t-shirt and black sweatpants, he didn’t even have his shoes on either.

“Oh, then just give me a minute.” He said and turned to open the door, but it was locked. “Not again.” He groaned. He was disliking his habit of turning the lock on the doorknob before shutting the door since he was so used to locking without the key and he was so used to not leaving the house, so when he does, the habit of locking it always happened.

“Are you locked out?” Mingyu was worried. Won Woo quickly looked for the spare key under the potted plant, it was still missing. I never got the key back?! It’s been nearly seven days now. Wow. More reason to go visit the sickly star today. “Hyung?”

“I’ll figure it out when I get back, for now, let’s…” he looked at the ground and sighed. Does he have to walk on the dirty ground the whole way?

“I’ll carry you!” Mingyu offered and knelt down in front of him. “Just until we get to my house and you can borrow a change of clothes and shoes. Don’t worry, I got you!” His gesture put a smile on Won Woo’s face. He was glad to have a friend like him. There was no way he was going to borrow clothes and shoes from Ji Min, they wouldn’t fit nor would they be proper for him to wear in the first place.

Once Won Woo was on Mingyu’s back, they were off!

“Thanks for inviting me out to lunch.” Ji Min greeted with a bright smile when she met up with Junghwa in Moonlight cafe downtown. She didn’t have a hard time finding the place at least and was grateful that Junghwa gave her very detailed directions. It was also the cafe where she met Won Woo’s friends Mingyu and Jisoo last week.

“No problem! I thought we should meet up and get to know each other more. I’m not sure if you’ve made many friends here yet since it’s summer break and all.”

“Not really, just my guy friend and some of his friends so far.” Ji Min answered. “He seems quite popular.” She added with a chuckle.

“Sounds like it!” Junghwa grinned. “What’s his name again?”

“Won Woo.”

“Jeon Won Woo?” Junghwa seemed surprised.

“What is it?” Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

“Nothing, I just didn’t think it would be him.” The older shook her head and gave a sheepish smile. “He was quite popular in school. Even though he doesn’t open up to others well. He and his friends are well-liked.”

“Oh, so… he hasn’t been a troublemaker at school these past three years?”

“I don’t think so, other than pulling a few pranks on the seniors a few times, it was nothing serious.”

“Pranks on seniors?!” Ji Min felt like scolding him now.

“Is he the friend you knew back in Changwon?” Ji Min simply nodded. “Did he used to pull pranks back then too?”

“Kind of… he was a bit of a troublemaker back then and was always getting into situations. He was rebellious. When he moved away, I always wondered if those bad habits stuck with him or not.”

“I don’t think it did, he was pretty quiet and distant when he first transferred to Pledis High.” Junghwan began to explain and Ji Min was ready to hear about it all. “He was unapproachable at first, a lot of the students thought he was scary and mean looking. That was until a few of his fellow classmates took the chance to befriend him. For a while, he was always glued to his phone and texting someone during breaks and outside of school. He wouldn’t talk much. A year passed and he suddenly stopped checking his phone so often. He seemed depressed at that time until Hoshi and his other friends started to talk with him more. He eventually came out of it and started to spend more time with his friends after that. He still seems to keep a distance, but not many noticed that.”

“I see.” Ji Min felt her heart aching. She felt horrible for doing that to Won Woo. I must’ve made him suffer alone… she started to remember her first day in Seoul, how she bumped into Won Woo so suddenly. He didn’t seem too angry with me at the time, he seemed happy, actually. She knows Won Woo doesn’t express himself with words very well, but it was also hard for her to read him, too. I wonder how he really feels about my disappearance? Did he forgive me? We never truly talked about it… I owe him an explanation, right?

“Ji Min?” Junghwa snapped her out of her thoughts. “Are you okay?”

“Oh? I’m fine.” Ji Min assured her.

“But you’re crying?” Her friend pointed out and handed her a napkin for her tears. She rested a hand on her shoulder in hopes to comfort her. “Is something wrong?”

“Ah… it’s just…” Ji Min thought of what to say. “He’s a special friend of mine. It hurts to hear how he struggled after moving…”

“A special friend?” She repeated and Ji Min recalled how his mother misunderstood the situation before.

“We were dance partners back in Changwon… and so we went through a lot during that time. Our parents were always busy with work and so instead of going home to empty houses every day, we always hung out together after school and dance practice. It was like that for a long time. So, it must’ve been hard for him when he moved to Seoul and everything changed. It was hard for me too.”

“I see. You missed each other, then?”

“I guess you can say that.” Ji Min nodded. “I missed him a lot more than I thought I would.”

“Awh, sounds like true friendship.” Junghwa cooed. “That’s adorable. Well, at least you two are back together now.”

“Yeah, I’m happy to be back by his side.”

“I bet you are! I can’t imagine if I had to be separated by a close friend like that. Sounds rough.” Junghwa pouted and Ji Min thought it was cute.

“Is it like that with Hyuk?”

“Hyuk?!”

“Yeah,” Ji Min chuckled at how shocked she was. “You and Hyuk aren’t close?”

“I, uh, well… I’d like to think so.” Junghwa was now getting flustered. “Though, it might be different than you and Won Woo.”

“Different?” Ji Min tilted her head in confusion.

“Ji Min? Have you ever… had a boyfriend before?” The older asked in a whisper like she didn’t want anyone else to hear.

“No, I haven’t.” Ji Min blushed. She didn’t know where this conversation was going.

“That’s right, you’re younger than me, sorry!” Junghwan laughed.

“Only by a year!” The younger pouted. “It’s not that much of an !”

“You’re right. So, then… have you ever had feelings for anyone before?”

“W-Why?”

“You’re getting so embarrassed, I’m sorry!” Junghwa gushed with a chuckle. “You just graduated, surely I thought you’d have experienced something like it before. I only asked because… I don’t know. It’s embarrassing to say but…”

“But? What?” Ji Min wanted to know what this was about.

“Please don’t say this to anyone, okay?!” Junghwa asked before taking a deep breath. “I think I have feelings for Sangh-” she trailed off and Ji Min stared at her, waiting for her to continue until they heard someone greet them. They both jumped in their seats from being startled.

“Hey, didn’t think we’d run into you like this!” Hyuk greeted with a friendly smile. He was accompanied by Wonshik.

“Don’t you have any other friends to hang out with other than your older cousin?” Junghwa teased and Hyuk pouted at her. Ji Min giggled at their interactions and so did his cousin.

“Mind if we join you ladies?” Wonshik asked with a charming smile. “There doesn’t seem to be any other table open at the moment.” That was true, the cafe seemed to have gotten busy during the girls’ talk with each other.

“Sure.” Ji Min happily agreed and scooted over in the booth to make room for one of them. Junghwa did the same. Ji Min expected Hyuk to sit by Junghwa, but he sat by her instead, leaving Wonshik to sit by Junghwa. For a second, she could see the look of betrayal on the older girl’s face, like she was jealous and Ji Min gave her an apologetic smile and created more distance between herself and Hyuk. She supposed Junghwa was about to admit she had feelings for Hyuk until they interrupted them. It seemed clear to Ji Min now after seeing that.

“I don’t have cooties, you know.” Hyuk pouted when he noticed Ji Min scoot away.

“It’s not that!” Ji Min quickly blurted out. “I just… need more elbow room!” She said and obnoxiously took up space on the table with her arms.

“This is fun!” Wonshik said sarcastically with a bright smile and Hyuk only glared at him. “Lunch with my younger cousin and his love interests.”

“Love interests?!” Junghwa blurted out and elbowed the guy in the ribs. Ji Min felt defeated. Misunderstandings after another. Her life sure has gotten more lively since moving, that’s for sure!

“Sorry!” Wonshik chuckled before pulling his phone out and the display. He was greeted by the photo of his new dog and he perked up before turning it around to show the girls. “Want to see my new dog?”

“You got a dog?” Junghwa asked. “How cute, is it a boy or a girl?”

“Boy. He’s a French Bulldog and his name is .” The older man explained with excitement. Both Junghwa and Ji Min stared at the puppy on his phone and gave awkward laughs imagining Wonshik walking around asking everyone if they want to see his “.”

“Hyung…” Hyuk shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Isn’t my cute?” Wonshik asked and the girls couldn’t help but hold back their laughter and disengage the conversation with him. It sounds inappropriate when using the dog’s name. LOL

“What’s the matter?” Mingyu asked when he joined Won Woo on the living room couch of his home. His father was currently at work because he’s a doctor at the busiest hospital in the city. His mother and sister were out running errands and shopping for dinner later, so they had the house to themselves for a few hours. Mingyu was currently making the homemade soup he wanted to take to Soonyoung, it’d be ready shortly.

Won Woo had gone upstairs to get a change of clothes from Mingyu’s room when they first arrived. Entering the house felt like entering his own home. As his friend said once before “What’s mine is yours.” His clothes were a bit big on him but he doesn’t mind since he already wears clothes that were a bit big to begin with. He’s just lucky Mingyu had an old pair of shoes his size or he might have been carried around all day. After he changed, he came back down to rest and wait on the couch. He had been thinking about this morning, about what his mother said. She thought Ji Min was my girlfriend. He felt bittersweet about it. It was nice to see that others might think they make a good pair, a good couple, but bitter that it wasn’t the truth. They were just friends.

“Won Woo?” Mingyu asked again. “Something on your mind?”

“This morning… my mom came home for breakfast.” Won Woo began to explain. “Last night, Ji Min took care of me when I wasn’t feeling well. She fell asleep and so I put her on my bed.”

“Oh!” Mingyu was shocked. “And then what?”

“I slept on the bed too.”

“Hyung!” Mingyu was losing his mind now and Won Woo just laughed, there’s the reaction he was looking for from his own mother. “You didn’t do anything naughty did you!?”

“Of course not!” Won Woo scolded. “But my mom saw and so…”

“Was she mad?” Mingyu was worried now. Did he fight with his mother about that?

“No, she was okay with it.” The younger was relieved. “But, she misunderstood and called Ji Min my girlfriend.”

“... wow, okay. So, did you correct her?”

“Of course I did.” Won Woo’s expression clearly showed he didn’t like it.

“I see the problem now.”

“I don’t know what to do.”

“Hyung, you should just tell her how you feel?”

“But what if she doesn’t feel the same? What if I'm misunderstanding her?”

“That is a problem…” Mingyu ruffled his own hair and tried to think of a solution. “Hey, why don’t we have the girls figure it out?”

“Figure out what?” Won Woo wasn’t sure what he meant, he really didn’t want to get others involved with this either.

“You know girls, they like to gossip and share secrets. Maybe if Ji Min gets comfortable enough, she’d confide in them about who she likes?”

“And if it’s not me.” Won Woo looked rejected and nothing had even happened yet!

“Hyung! Seriously, make a move, if not, don’t complain about it!” Mingyu was annoyed. He really didn’t like Won Woo doing that, it was pointless to complain about it yet not do anything about it. “I’m sorry, hyung, but really… either do something about it or don’t.”

Won Woo was silent, but he agreed with his friend. He either does something about it or he doesn’t. He just didn’t know why it was so hard to even bring it up when he’s facing her? Would it always be like that, getting stuck on words every time? If I can’t express it in words, I could express it in action, right? But he didn’t want to shock her if he were to suddenly kiss her or hold her hand. He decided he’d have to work on talking about it more. Mingyu said I’d know when the time is right… there honestly was no rush, he supposed he should let her focus on starting college first… and if the time comes before then, so be it! But there’s no reason to stress about it right now, right?

That was until he was face to face with Soonyoung. The poor guy seemed out of it at the moment because of his fever and coughing, but Mingyu was here to nurse him back to health. Won Woo stood by and watched. Right, maybe I shouldn’t ask about my house key right now… because maybe he could stay with Ji Min until his parents get home? It seemed to work out, didn’t it?

Meanwhile, Soonyoung and Mingyu talked while Won Woo looked through a few of Soonyoung’s manga books, he doesn’t have his phone with him so there wasn’t much he can do to distract himself. “Oh… you were sick yesterday, too?” Soonyoung’s hoarse voice snapped him out of it.

“Just a small fever, that’s all.” Won Woo answered.

“He said Ji Min took care of him last night,” Mingyu explained and flinched when Won Woo slapped him on the back and glared at him for bringing it up.

“Ji Min took care of you?” Soonyoung asked and now looked like a sick puppy. “That’s nice of her.” He added with a weak smile. “I heard she tried to visit me yesterday but I was asleep.”

“Yeah, Jun mentioned that.” Mingyu nodded and looked to Won Woo.

“I would have asked her to come to visit today but I wouldn't want to burden her like that,” Soonyoung muttered.

“Yeah, don’t.” Won Woo said a bit blunt. Mingyu worried and saw Soonyoung look at him, a bit surprised, but snickered like he understood what was going on.

“I mean, it’s not too late to do so.” He started to reach for his phone, but Won Woo was quick to push it further away on the nightstand.

“No, you need your rest.” Won Woo scolded.

“I have been resting!” Soonyoung complained before triggering a couch attack.

“Rest more. You need it.” Won Woo said harshly.

“Jerk.” Soonyoung coughed out and looked upset.

“Guys, don’t fight!” Mingyu intervened. “Hyung, you really should focus on resting. Too many visitors won’t help.” He added.

“He’s right. So I’ll be leaving first.” Won Woo said and made his way to the door.

“Wait, Won Woo!” Mingyu called after him. He remembered that he was locked out earlier.

“I’ll be fine, just take care of the sickly star.” Won Woo said over his shoulder and waved. “Later.” Then he was gone.

“Jeez, what is his problem?” Soonyoung sighed once his coughing calmed down. “Why does he seem so protective over Ji Min? I’m just trying to be friendly!”

“Hyung, don’t stress about it, okay?” Mingyu said in a gentle tone and rested his hand on his arm as if to make him calm down as well. “Just focus on recovering. Then you can worry about it.”

“Fine.” Soonyoung let his head fall back onto his pillow and he closed his eyes. Won Woo’s actually interested in her, that’s it. He thought bitterly. Of course, he is… how could he not?

Kwon Soonyoung has always been the life of the party everywhere he goes. He’s easy to like and easy to get along with. With that said, he’s had his share of high school admirers. He even accepted a few confessions here and there but never seriously dated any of them. There were innocent dates and he had fun on them. It was hard to say no to the girls sometimes, and so it’s why he would Say Yes. But he rarely had feelings to bring to the dates and they were more like hang out sessions for him. Technically, you could say he’s been on many dates, at the same time, though they were never really dating at the end of it all.

There had been one girl out of many that he thought he might actually have feelings for, and so he really gave dating a shot. But it didn’t last long since she had to move away. There was a chance she won’t be coming back. He believes long-distance relationships could work, but it’s not what he wants. So they had to let the relationship go. When he thinks back on it, he felt the same feelings he felt once before after meeting Ji Min. He found her beautiful and kind. She was already easy to get along with, too. He felt it could work out between them, but he also knew he shouldn’t rush into anything either. He’s only been able to meet with her two times so far. It seems a bit dramatic to already be falling for her, but he can’t help it. He’s one to believe in love at first sight.

“Hyung?” Mingyu snapped him out of his thoughts. “Are you feeling any better?”

“Yeah, thanks.” Soonyoung nodded and gave a soft smile. If you want to battle, let’s battle, Jeon Won Woo. And no, he doesn’t mean playing him in a round of Mortal Kombat, because that would be too childish!

But someone else is ready to fight too, not for Ji Min, but for victory against Won Woo.

Jisoo lost three times to Won Woo on game night. LOL

Won Woo’s like “Thank you, next.”
