Taehyung lay on his bed, music blasting in his ears in case another fight started outside. His eyes were closed as his mind roamed around several thoughts. It lingered on his own fight with Jimin a few days ago.   Conflicting emotions swirled inside of him, and he took a moment to try and clear his head.   Why had he acted so differently in front of Nari and Jimin? It was a question he was afraid to answer; he didn’t want to know why.   Pushing it to the back of his mind, he searched for something else ㅡand settled on Nari. When was the last time he’d seen her smile? It felt like a long time. He remembered she used to smile a lot in middle school when the whole group was all together. The corners of his lips rose involuntarily.   Maybe it was time to be honest with himself. Why else would his heart be beating just at the thought of her smile? Why else would he be wanting to race to her side right now? Why else would he have said such harsh words to Jimin?   Sitting up, Taehyung ran a hand through his hair and scoffed at himself. It was this simple to do, so why had he been hesitating all these years?   Thinking of Nari, he placed a hand on his chest and finally admitted the truth he’d been hiding.   I like you, Park Nari.   ~~   Jungkook burst into the funeral hall attached to the hospital, hurriedly looking into each segment before recognizing a familiar black-haired head bowing to two elderly people who were doing the same thing.   “Hyung!” he shouted, throwing off his sneakers and running into the inner section. He skidded to a stop when he spotted her picture in the midst of white flowers at the back of the room.   Yoongi’s grandmother had on her warm smile, the same one she always used to greet Jungkook with, and the frame rested on top of the coffin that was covered in flowers.   Shocked, Jungkook dropped to his knees, feeling a pang in his chest. Tears sprung in his eyes, and he buried his face into his hands. He only sobbed harder when he felt Yoongi’s arms wrap around him.     Yoongi placed his suit jacket over a sleeping Jungkook and slumped next to him against the wall with a sigh. The younger boy had refused to leave and insisted on staying, assuring Yoongi he had told his parents he was staying the night. Yoongi wasn’t sure if he was telling the truth, but the selfish part of him that didn’t want to be alone didn’t ask any further.   It was late into the night when the visitors had finally stopped. Apparently, his grandmother had more friends than he knew of. Honestly, he wasn’t surprised.   Excluding Hoseok, most of their group had shown up and paid their consolations at different times. Namjoon said he would come tomorrow, and Nari had left with promises to visit again.   Yoongi reached into his pocket to take out a white envelope. The word ‘Wages’ were written in black ink, easy to read even in the low lighting.   A man had given it to him when he had come, saying that it was this month’s wages for his grandmother. She had taken up a cleaning job at apartments without him knowing, and it was there that she collapsed from a . A person had seen her, and she was rushed to the hospital immediately ㅡhowever, it was too late.   He hadn’t even been able to say goodbye.   Heaving a sigh, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and closing his eyes. He didn’t know why she had taken up a job. With him having a stable job at the woodworking shop, they were no longer struggling to survive; they had had enough to live on. Why?   Yoongi lifted his head to stare at her smiling picture, his heart numb with pain.   Why, Grandma? He felt his eyes fill, and the tears overflowed onto his cheeks. Why did you leave me, too?   He covered his face with his hands and cried silently in case Jungkook would hear and wake up.   ~~   Hoseok hesitated and moved out of the way for the people behind him to go in first. He followed them inside after a moment, patting down his black suit jacket. Still hesitant, he stood outside the entrance to Yoongi’s grandmother’s segment and stared at the people already in there, spotting Yoongi and Jungkook in the inner section bowing to guests in front of her coffin.   Just then, Yoongi turned, and Hoseok quickly hid behind the wall, praying he hadn’t seen him.   Of course, he had no right to be here. Especially because he had left the group on his own will. However, something in him had urged him to come after Nari had told him of her passing, and that same thing pressed him to go in.   Sighing, Hoseok peeked behind the wall and saw his two former friends sitting together on the ground, no other visitors at the moment. Yoongi had his head down, and Jungkook patted him on the back, looking tired himself.   Hoseok came behind the wall again and leaned his back on it. No, he couldn’t go in there. He would only cause more mental stress.   Looking down at the bouquet in his hands, he hoped she would like them and set them down in front of the entrance, next to the wall. After bowing in the direction of her coffin, Hoseok turned and trudged down the hall, his heart heavy and his eyes threatening to fill with tears.     Namjoon straightened out his suit as he walked down the hall. Just as he was about to enter, his foot caught on something, and he looked down.   A bouquet of flowers was at his feet, and he bent to pick it up, confused as to why it was here. A piece of paper placed among the flowers caught his eye. The print read, ‘To Yoongi hyung’s Grandmother.’ Wondering why the person had left it here, he shrugged and carried it with him inside.   “Namjoon,” Yoongi said when he spotted him. His eyes dropped to the flowers, and his eyebrows went up. “What are those?”   “They were on the ground outside the entrance,” Namjoon pointed with his thumb behind him, “I think they’re for your grandmother.”   Taking it, Yoongi read the card and looked back at the bouquet. White roses. They were his grandmother’s favorite.   Silently, he walked over to the coffin and placed the roses among the numerous lilies. So he hadn’t seen wrong.   A few hours ago, he thought he had seen Hoseok at the entrance but was too tired to make sure. Now, he was certain.   “And who is this?”   Yoongi placed an arm around Hoseok as he introduced him to his grandmother. “A dongsaeng from school. His name is Hoseok.” At Yoongi’s nudge, Hoseok bowed.   His grandmother smiled warmly and gathered the boy in a hug. Hoseok was surprised, yet consented. When she released him, a smile naturally came to his face.   “Grandma, I’m starving,” Jungkook said as he was hugged also.   “Well, I better get to cooking if our Kookie is hungry then,” the older woman replied with a grin.   Some time later, the four of them were seated around a small table on the ground. Hoseok paused in eating and looked toward Yoongi’s grandmother, who was flipping through the daily newspaper. “Grandmother, are you not going to eat?”   She looked up and smiled. “I’m full just by looking at you. Don’t worry about me and eat up b
