One thing a girl should always kept in her appearance is a smile. Although she hasn’t ironed her hair, or put her make up on or maybe wearing a pretty dress yet, curving a smile would make things better. Everyone around her would certainly virused by her positive aura, either she chose to let it surrounded her being or if she just put it simply because she liked it. ­ It was a bless when you walked through a street with your heart broke and suddenly, a pretty girl passed by and smiled soothingly at you, though she didn’t even know you. That made a conclusion that one of a girl’s weapons is her smile itself.

And so does mine. I like to smile—pretty often—because I’m taught to become a welcoming person by both of my lovely parents. My parents are psychology graduate couple; the two of them knew how to make people happy either by their smart and unoffending jokes, or their advance consulting advices about life. I really liked how they talked too, considering how I am now interested and currently learning psychology as my major in college. I have a dream, to be a consult teacher after I go out this school with a bachelor status. And I really hope I can achieve this dream with a peaceful life.

But not after I decided to visit my very best friend for life at his college. He took a different school from me, and of course—a different major which is engineering. I wondered why he wanted to be separated with me although we were inseparable for almost eighteen years.

Seungcheol and I are childhood friends. Not because we lived as a neighbor; but because our parents—specifically our mothers—are best friends from they were high school and they decided to live near each other. And the meaning of near each other is in two houses with connecting gardens (Seriously? Connecting gardens? What the hell is that?). But I didn’t complain about it as I got a friend since birth. I actually wondered how my mom and her bestie got pregnant in a nearly same time. Seungcheol is only a month older than me, like hell… I don’t even know I should call him ‘oppa’ or not (though I prefer not to).

We had known all of our traits since we were babies, as we spit each other’s saliva, fighting over a plushy doll or lego, and slapping each other like we had no end in bickering. He knew when was the day I had peed on my pants, or when was the day I actually got my first puberty. In contrary, I knew when was the day he tripped over a dog poop or when was the day he got his Adam’s apple. It was like we were siblings; or maybe soul mate if you compared.

We knew each other too well that we considered our relationship to be a family. We even have a promise; we would be the person who gives the first speech when we get married to our love one.

But now, I really want to take that promise back.
