"Why?"

Kwon Soo Ah was frustrated and upset. Why does everyone care so much about Yeon Doo? Yeon Doo was a nobody who didn't do well in school. But why does everyone seem to like her?

"Why did you do that to Yeon Doo?!"

Soo Ah could tell that Ha Joon was extremely angry. Her body began trembling. She was afraid of what Ha Joon would do next.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

She could hear her own voice tremble. But she wouldn't give in. She had gone too far to go back now. It was only a matter of time before they found out.

"Don't play dumb with me! You know what you did wrong, just confess already!"

Soo Ah didn't know what to do. Should she continue lying, or should she just tell him what happened? Her heart was racing and she was debating on what to do. Without knowing it, she let everything out.

"Why do you continue to pick on me?! Yes, its true! I did all those horrible things to Yeon Doo, all for first place! Is it so wrong to want first place?! All I've ever wanted was to be first, and now that I finally have it, everything will be stripped away from me!"

The moment the words came out of , she regretted everything. She could no longer stand it anymore. Soo Ah broke down in tears. 

"Why does everyone care so much about her? She isn't popular and doesn't even care much about school. But still, everyone only pays attention to her."

Ha Joon stood there, listening silently. He didn't know what to say.

"I sacrificed everything to get where I am now. I gave up friends, I gave up on building a relationship with mother, I even gave up on trying to make other people like me. But even though I am first, I am not satisfied. Why can't I be happy? Yeon Doo doesn't have a lot of money and isn't very smart. But why is she happier than me?"

Soo Ah was angry. She had given up everything, gotten first, made her mother proud. But why wasn't she happy? Although she wouldn't admit it, Soo Ah was jealous. Out of all things,
