Present Day

Krystal arrived and felt dead tired. The late night practices were taking its toll. Someone she was starting to hate that part of her job. She sat on the couch, while Yuri made her way to her sister’s room.

She smiled.

Even though there have been rumors swirling about her sister and Yuri’s group, the couple maintained their relationship. Krystal sometimes wondered how those two could go on dates without alerting the paparazzi.

Jessica and Yuri came out of the room holding hands.

A sigh escaped her lips as thoughts of Seulgi came invaded her mind.

How was she?

Was she still healthy?

Does she ever think about Krystal?

Krystal closed her eyes, remembering Seulgi’s smile.

Someday perhaps, they will have time to talk about how to be at least friends again.

As of the moment, Krystal could only wish and reminisce the warmth that was Kang Seulgi.

She felt her sister tap her shoulder with something.

There was a letter on her sister’s hand.

Yuri’s face had become stern, something unusual for the SNSD’s black pearl.

Jessica held out the letter for her to take.

Krystal’s eyes it carefully before asking.

“What is this?”

“Seulgi came by today. She wanted to give this to you. Just this… Whatever is written on it may have an impact on you. I haven’t read it. But considering that it’s Seulgi, I know it will affect you. I have a few questions to ask you. I’m asking you this because I’m your sister.”

Krystal stayed quiet, eyeing her name in Seulgi’s handwriting.

“Do you still love Kang Seulgi?”

The question lingered and silence filled the room. She could feel the tension the older girls were sending through their stance.

They are afraid.

It had been years, but they know Krystal had not forgotten.

But they have also have not known what was still inside Krystal’s heart.

The youngest of the Jung’s looked up with a bitter smile on her lips.

“I never stopped.”

She couldn’t blame them. Seulgi was so cute.

Who could pass up to that?

From a distance she watched as they practiced routines. Krystal thought why did Seulgi not debut with them? It would have been fun to have Seulgi and Sulli around. Not to mention Krystal wanted to monopolize the bear for herself.

“Stop staring and just walk over to the love of your life…”

She heard Amber whisper earning a slight smirk on her lips.

“I wish Unnie…”

“You should talk about it if you want to be serious.”

“We’re not like you and Vic-Unnie. She’s traditional.”

“Welll at least you could have got it out of your chest. Done with the what ifs. If she’s your friend she won’t change Joongie. She will stay.”

Krystal sighed and her eyes turned to Seulgi once more.

The human bear was gazing at Bae Joohyun with adoration in her eyes.

A slight sting was slapped across her chest.

Maybe, it’s time.

She should at least let Seulgi know before she loses her to someone else.

Krystal waited on the rooftop, the place where she and Seulgi used to meet. A note has been passed to her friend so they can talk about personal things in private.  She felt relief when she saw the other girl peeking at the door with a smile on her face.

“You called for me?”

“Ne… Tired?”

“Aniyo… Just finished dance practice. Have to work hard… They said we’re fixing the group now. I might debut soon…”

“That’s great.”

Krystal stared at her feet not knowing how to say the words.

“You know, I haven’t introduced you to Joohyun-Unnie. She’s so pretty and nice!”

She smiled even though it made her jealous.

“I would really like to be in a group with her…”

“…Rather than with me?”

She saw Seulgi pout before replying.

“You already debuted, so you don’t count anymore.”

“Seulgi-ah…”

Seulgi held up her hand making her raise her eyebrow.

Krystal rolled her eyes.

“No, you dumb bear.”

She saw a smile form on Seulgi’s lips. Krystal wasn’t sure how a silly person can look so beautiful all at the same time.

“I need to talk to you about something serious… Something personal…”

“Are you getting married?” Seulgi joked earning her scowl.

“I won’t be able to ask you if you keep on interrupting me.”

Seulgi nodded and kept her silence. Krystal breathed out before walking over to her friend. She interlaced their fingers, thinking how perfect they fit.
