You had just finished up dancing in the one of the practice rooms in the JYP building. You look at your phone and check the time. 2am…another day of late practice. You disconnected your phone from the speakers, turned off the lights in the room, and left. Life as a trainee was hard, especially since you were from overseas, but you were hoping it’d get you somewhere.

You took the bus to your dorm, which was provided for you since you lived overseas. When you arrived home, careful not to wake up some other girls, you took a quick shower and went to bed. You were excited for what awaited you that day, since you and a few other trainees were told that you were going to meet JYP sunbaes. To make sure you would get up on time, you decided to go to sleep immediately. I can’t meet them looking dreadful!

Waiting in the same practice room as you were the night before, trainees were anticipating who they were about to meet. You heard the murmurs around you.

“What would you do if it was 2PM?”

“Okay, but imagine it was the Wonder Girls.”

“Nah man, Miss A is what it’s all about!”

As soon as you all the door knob turn, all attention was at the front of the room. When you heard someone say, “HELLO TRAINEES”, and you recognized the voice from somewhere. Heh, Jackson…

You and several others were smiling. I am going to be working with Got7! Before you came to Korea as a trainee, you really liked Got7. They were one of those groups with a different style, a cool but cute one. All the members had an individual charm, and they all were quite good looking. But one in particular caught your eye…

As they filed in, leader JB did the intro loud and clear.

“Come and get it, GOT7! Hello, we are Got7!” They all greeted enthusiastically. You guys, the trainees, all bowed respectively to your sunbaes and greeted likewise. After applauding, JB went on to explain what was going on today. From what you understood, Got7 was going to teach you guys some bits of a dance. You all whispered amongst yourselves.

“I will get to dance with Im Jaebum!”

“JYP is gonna teach us how to dance!” The others giggled. You giggled with them too, getting an exciting butterflies-in-your-stomach feeling. I hope I don’t mess up.

It was nerve wracking at first, dancing in front of these guys who are so good at it, but they made you feel very relaxed and at ease. Jackson was especially nice and understanding, knowing what it’s like to not completely get everything. Bambam also sympathized with that, and helped you out where you asked for it. Mark, the other foreigner, was quiet while teaching, but he was always near your area, watching you dance, or helping other trainees around to be by you. You thought it might have been coincidental, so you just shrugged it off.

After the dance training session ended, the other trainees and Got7 left for dinner, everyone going to Korean BBQ. You said you would meet up with them a little later, wanting to practice more on the steps. Little did you know, someone else stayed behind too.

He was only a few steps away from you, but you didn’t notice since you were too immersed in dancing. While moving along, you noticed an extra arm appeared next to you, shadowing your moves. You grinned and kept dancing along. It was actually less hard when it’s just two people.

After the song had ending, you said, “Thank you!” in Korean and were about to bow, but he stopped you.

“No need, we’re both from overseas right? LA guy here. Also, you can speak English, if that’s what makes you more comfortable.” He pants, taking a long gulp of his water after. You nodded and sighed in relief.

“Thanks, it’s kinda hard to think about what I have to say first. I’m Y/N.” You introduced yourself.

He held out his hand and did likewise, “I’m Mark, as you may have already known. I actually knew yours. I was watching you dance before with the other guys, and even before just now, you’re really good!”

“Huh? Me? Ah, I don’t think I’m all that great, but thanks. It was fun…just now.” You muttered.

“I had fun too,” So he did hear that… “Maybe if we catch each other around the company, we could do it again and maybe coffee after?”

“Yeah, I’d like that,” you answered.

About two months later, you were walking around the JYP building at night, heading towards your favorite practice room. Exactly why was it your favorite? You had no idea…you just liked the black wall, the short ceiling, and the size of the room. It felt like yours.

When you were near the door, you hear music coming out from it. Someone is using MY favorite room at this time? Why does this happen to me!

You open the door slightly to see who it was you needed to fight for the room, but as soon as you saw the back of this person’s head, you quickly move your head back and close the door quietly. As you walked away from the practice room, you giggled to yourself. Walking outside the building, you walk to the nearest convenience store.

Again, you approach the door, but this time more quietly. Then you stopped. The music is on…he’s not going to hear me. You rolled your eyes at your smart self and continued to stand next to the door. Once the music stopped, you peeped your head inside.

“Knock knock, I have a delivery of two ramen bowls for Mark.” You declared.

He turned to look at who it was, and greeted you warmly.

“That’s me, uh thank you~” he said in a deep voice. You just shook your head at him.

The two of you sat down enjoying the ramen, and talking about how things have been since you first met. After finishing, you asked if you could practice with him.

“Yeah, totally. Ooo,” he said, inspired. “I could show you a dance from one of our songs!”

You cheered excitedly, “YAS! Totally, I’d love to!”

Mark laughed at your cute reaction and started to instruct. You now didn’t mind so much that he took your favorite practice room.
