I.

He breathes slowly. His eyes are closed. And he leans into the warmth.

It invites him for a dance, takes his hand in the manner so delicate, fingers find the empty spaces between his own and when their palms unify – body heat pressed one against each other – the dance begins. He follows the first steps clumsily, he attempts to get into the rhythm. And when his foot awkwardly steps on another, there is a single, soft chuckle beginning the symphony that soon casts itself upon them. The music is as gentle as Sunggyu’s gaze on him.

Sungyeol’s heart beats wildly.

II.

Sungyeol is spring.

The Sun hiding itself behind the first clouds, peeking shyly, almost hesitantly. The rain soothing pain during the melancholic days, a momentary drizzle – a reminder that the sadness isn’t infinite. The birds awaking the breathtaking sight of the nature you experience not only with your eyes. The flowers blossoming, revealing the beauty that has been hiding. They days that last longer than the darkness of the night washing away, waiting for the winter to reign. The fresh smell of velvety delicacy tingling the nostrils. The sweet taste of love being yet again reborn.

Sunggyu loves spring most.

III.

When he can’t see, he feels.

Under the darkness that falls upon them, weighing on their souls, hands are reached out. They search each other blindly, fingers crawl further and with senses more sharp, more sensitive to the smallest reminiscence of warmth, they wander to the centre of it. Touch is ineffable, so are feelings as they tangle lazily, wrapping the sensations around each other ever so languidly.

When their fingers meet it’s

An electric shock

A skipped heartbeat

A sharp breath

A soft gasp

Dying

Into the silence of the lightless heart’s room.

They entwine.

Sungyeol feels Sunggyu’s warmth.
