A Sungjong and You Fanfiction

Foreword

6:00 A.M.

Sungjong woke up early knowing it was your birthday today. He knew you had to go to your parent’s house to celebrate your birthday and he had to help Hoya with errands due to his injured ankle. Sungjong sighed and got out of bed. Careful not to touch you and wake you up. Sungjong stood up and stretched, watching you as you slept. He smiled and made his way to the door. As soon as he got out he looked around and saw Woohyun with a cup of coffee sitting at the balcony. Sungjong walked towards Woohyun.

“Yah, Woohyun what are you doing?” Sungjong asked as he opened the balcony door

“Ey, what’s with the informal speaking? You are so immature like our choding” Woohyun turned.

“Oh. Sorry hyung.” Sungjong whispered as he slowly closed the door.

“Yah, Sungjong ah” Woohyun said as he got out of his chair. “Isn’t it (Y/N)’s Birthday today?” Woohyun asked softly pushing Sungjong to the side and closing the door.

“Yup, I woke up early today to make (Y/N) a special breakfast.” Sungjong explained.

“Ahh that makes sense. You never wake up this early by yourself.” Woohyun teased as he walked towards the kitchen.  Sungjong ran after Woohyun and playfully slapped his shoulder. “Oh and I bought (Y/N) a present. It’s on the couch. When (Y/N) wakes up can you give it to (Y/N)?”

“Sure hyung. What’s inside?”

“A Dino plushy” Woohyun answered

“Where are you going?” Sungjong asked watching Woohyun open the door to his room.

“Leaving you alone. It’s your breakfast surprise for (Y/N) right?”

“Oh yea” Sungjong said dumbly

“Aish Lee Sungjong” Woohyun rolled his eyes closing the door. Sungjong giggled to himself.

“This is going to be a good day” he thought to himself. Sungjong set a few bowls and measuring cups on the counter and opened up his phone and set it to a Lemon blackberry cupcake recipe and found a few days ago. “This should be good.” Sungjong smiled.

Sungjong poured a cup of white sugar into the clear bowl. Sungjong looked at his phone. “Half a cup of butter” he whispered and he sliced the butter and put it in the bowl, “2 eggs...” Sungjong cracked them in the bowl. “Some Vanilla extract?....I don’t have that….” Sungjong looked at the clock “shoot its 7:30 not enough time to run to the market” Sungjong snapped. He remembered that you set your alarm for 8:00, and the time to bake the cupcakes, he knew he wouldn’t even be able to put on the frosting even if he ran to the market. Sungjong sighed. He looked at his options. “I guess Vanilla powder would do” as he poured about a teaspoon of vanilla powder. “He poured in 1 and a half cup of flour, 1 cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, half a teaspoon of salt, one scoop of blackberry jam, and 1 cup of sugar. Sungjong stopped and closed his eyes. “Shoot…I forgot to buy the baking powder…I’m becoming more like Grandpa Gyu…I guess baking soda will have to do” he frowned as he put a few teaspoons of baking soda. “Confectionary sugar?...But I already put in sugar....aren’t they the same...Oh well we are both doing a diet anyways so no confectionary sugar will be a good idea anyways...” Sungjong giggled. He mixed the ingredients together. “Jeez…maybe I should have melted the butter a little” Sungjong thought as he put the bowl in the microwave for 20 seconds. Once the 20 seconds were up he took out the bowl and continued to stir. He smiled to himself as the felt the change of how easy it was to stir the ingredients now. He poured the cupcakes into molds and put the extra batter into a container and placed the container into the fridge. He opened the oven and placed his cupcakes inside. Sungjong looked at his phone. “What the…I had to preheat the oven?!” Sungjong panicked “Oh well that’s problem not important.” Sungjong swiped the page down. “Alright set for 350 degrees F…I got this…” Sungjong felt a drop of sweat on his chin. Baking was a lot of hard work for him. He looked back at his phone. “Wait for 10 minutes.” He looked at the time 25 minutes till you have wake up. He walked back to Sungjong and your room, went into the bathroom, and put on a suit he ironed the day before.

-20 Minutes later-

Sungjong smiled and leaned towards the mirror and did his best puppy eyes. “(Y/N) is got to love this!” Sungjong exclaimed but quickly frowned. “IS THAT BURNING I SMELL?” Sungjong whispered with now shocked eyes as he ran towards the kitchen to see a small cloud of smoke and the fire alarm beeping out loudly. Sungjong first took the broom and smacked the fire alarm. Sungjong soon regrets his violent approach as he ducks the sparks of electricity. He forgets the electricity and turns off the oven as even more smoke pours out of the oven. Sungjong chokes because of the smoke and pulled himself up towards the counter and opens the window sticking his head outside and coughs out. As soon as he stops coughing he feels a soft had on his back patting him gently. He gets down from the counter and puts his head back inside to see you laughing.

“Yah Sungjong-ah what are you doing?” You asked still chuckling after seeing Sungjong sticking his head out the window.

“Well, I was trying to bake cupcakes for you, but as you can see… it didn’t go so well.” Sungjong said looking down at the oven seeing his burnt charcoal cupcakes. Sungjong started form a few tears at his eyes but you quickly hugged him tight.

“It’s alright Sungjongie. You tried. I don’t need cupcakes to show how much you love me. As long as your love me, that’s all I need.” You whispered in his ear. Sungjong hugged you back.

“I wish I could be this close to you forever” Sungjong said not letting you go.

“Me too.” You agreed but cutely pushed him away. “But I got to get ready now, my parents are waiting for me”

“Alright…” Sungjong did his puppy eyes. “But as soon as you come home lets have a late night dinner. Just the two of us, Ok?” Sungjong said with a bit of aegyo.

“Ok, But you aren’t cooking, we go outside for dinner” You laughed

“Fine, we go outside” Sungjong giggled. Turning his back to clean up his failed cupcakes.
