Super Yoongi

Super Yoongi

Yoongi was just stepping into his tiny appartment after an exhausting twelve hours cramped up in his studio working on a new track, when he was greeted by an excitable high pitched voice.

"Super Yoongi!"

He turns to see his neighbour's door wide open with an extremely smiley Jimin hanging from the door handle. Jimin was without a doubt the cutest five year old he'd ever met, not that he'd met many but the ones he had met were nothing like Jimin.

"Where do you think you're going young ma- woah Yoongi you look like ."

His neighbour, Namjoon, came towards the door to retrieve Jimin and get a closer look at his best friend.

"I wanna play with Super Yoongi!"

Jimin was practically beside himself with excitement at the thought of Yoongi coming over to play, and although the older boy wanted nothing more than to go in and lie down he couldn't deny Jimin anything.

"Damn, have you been at the studio all night? Have you even taken a break since I left you there to pick up Jiminie?"

Yoongi was just about to make up some story about falling asleep on the couch when Jimin interrupted.

"Super Yoongi, come inside and sleep here, I'll cook you some yummy food."

Both men had to laugh at that, the kid was obviously desperate. Jimin hated cooking, always opting to get his dad's boyfriend to bake cookies without him. Whenever Seokjin complained about the lack of teamwork, Jimin always responded with 'but I'm the taster, I have to make sure it tastes good at the end. That's a really important job you know!'

"Okay fine but you better make me something delicious."

Yoongi knew that as soon as he stepped foot into the apartment Jimin would drag him into the living room to watch his favourite cartoons, leaving Namjoon to make something resembling lunch. While Jimin ran into his room to find his latest toy to show off, Namjoon informed Yoongi on the importance of sleep because it was clear the elder hadn't slept in a while. The older rapper tried to explain that he had slept on the couch at the studio to which Namjoon replied 'God knows you wouldn't be up before lunch which means you haven't actually gone to sleep yet.'

"I just got carried away with a new idea that's all, I'll go to sleep after I eat your delicious cooking. What are you planning on making anyway?"

Yoongi wished that Namjoon's boyfriend was home, that way nobody was likely to be poisoned because Seokjin was an amazing cook.

"I don't know yet, what do you feel like Super Yoongi?"

He couldn't help but snort at that no matter how unattractive it might look.

"Why does he keep calling me that, all I did was get his cat out of a tree once!"

After Yoongi had saved said cat Jimin refused to call him anything but 'Super Yoongi', no matter what the he did, it was always amazing to Jimin. Whether it be setting up a shelf for his toys in the young boy's bedroom to simply fixing a burst pipe in the bathroom, Jimin was always in complete awe of Yoongi.

"He likes you that's all, you're his favourite which pisses Seokjin of no end, even if he won't admit it."

Namjoon was smirking a little now as he started heating a pan of water over the little stove. For some reason seeing a grumpy Seokjin protest stubbonly that 'he didn't mind' was a little amusing, although in all seriousness Jimin loved Seokjin a lot which they all knew, they just liked to tease.

"Well of course I'm his favourite! I'm the coolest guy he knows, why wouldn't he like me."

Although Yoongi played it cool he absolutely adored the fact that Jimin liked him so much, seeing the amount of wonder and respect in the little boy's eyes whenever he saw Yoongi made him feel good, appreciated even. Namjoon was just starting to put pasta into a pan of boiling water when Jimin came barreling into the room with a stuff toy in hand.

"Super Yoongi look, Seokjin won this for me at the fair."

He crouched down to look at the huge fluffy bear in the little boy's arms while Namjoon finished making lunch behind him.

"Woah that's amazing Jiminie, it's really cute, just like you huh!"

This made Jimin squawk almost trembling with excitement as he burried his face into the bear, deciding that he was now too embarrassed to look up he turned around and ran toward the living room. As Yoongi stood up from his crouched position he turned to face Namjoon with an arched eyebrow.

"What? You made him excited that's all, he gets shy when people compliment him."

While Namjoon was dishing up pasta into separate bowls the little apartment suddenly filled with the sound of cartoons, announcing that Jimin had somehow the TV. Yoongi went to the cutlery draw trying to make himself useful while he took in this new piece of information. He had never realised that Jimin was shy at all, he always seemed to be filled with confidence, running around and getting into trouble with his best friend; Taehyung. The rapper's devious mind had now thought up a brilliant new game, 'compliment Jimin as much as possible and see how excited he could make him'.

"Er, Yoongi why are you just standing there like that? Lets go eat before this gets cold, you must really be tired huh?"

Yoongi was startled out of his daze by Namjoon placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah, sorry just a bit. I'll eat this then crash on your couch while Jimin watches cartoons."

Namjoon grinned at that, handing him a bowl then proceeding to drag the elder into the living room.

"I was hoping you'd say that, I really need to go to the store to get more food. Can you watch Jimin for an hour while I shoot over there?"

Yoongi gave the blonde a dirty look but grunted in agreement because, why would he complain about spending extra time with Jimin. The two older boy's took a seat at each end of the sofa while Jimin jumped into the middle seat making sure to sit extra close to Yoongi.

"Wow Jiminie, you're so cool and really good at picking cartoons! I love this one I watch it all the time at home."

Jimin squeaked again and  blushed a little but he couldn't wriggle away and hide because he had a bowl of pasta in his lap. He made do with turning his face away from Yoongi while he giggled. Yoongi couldn't help but smile at Jimin's reaction because it was just too sweet but before he could say anything more Jimin turned to look at him with a serious wide eye expression.

"Who's your favourite?"

He was slightly confused by Jimin's sudden seriousness and sat for a moment trying to work out what the boy was talking about, he gave up after a minute and settle for;

"You're my favourite of course Jiminie!"

This made Jimin throw himself at Yoongi's side burring his face into the elder's biker jacket, the tips of his ears were bright pink and he was now mumbling incoherently.

"Jiminie we can't hear you and be careful you're going to spill your food over the sofa."

Namjoon lightly scolded but he couldn't help the amusement in his voice, his little Jiminie was going to have to get used to compliments if Yoongi was going to keep this up.

"I mean the cartoon. Who is your favourite?"

The five year old still hadn't removed his face from Yoongi's side but he had managed to angle his face so that he was able to speak clearly this time. While Jimin and Yoongi spent the next ten minutes discussing the cartoon and all the best characters Namjoon managed to clear all the bowls away and get his jacket on readying himself to leave for the grocery store.

"Okay so I'm going, I'll be an hour maximum, well at least I hope I am. God I hate shopping. Jimin be good yeah? Oh and Yoongi don't let him near his crafts draw, last week I caught him trying to eat some glue, apparently 'TaeTae does it all the time'."

With that Namjoon left the apartment, phone pressed to his ear, begging Seokjin to meet up at the store.

"You ready Kiddo?"

Yoongi couldn't help the soft smile spreading across his face while he watched Jimin scream and run towards him as he stood in the doorway to Namjoon's apartment. Letting himself into his best friends apartment was common protocol these days so nobody seemed the least bit shocked to hear him calling from the front door. Jimin looked ridiculously excited to seem him considering they were only going to the cinema together, the kid's eyes lit up like it was Christmas.

"Yeah Super Yoongi, quickly lets go before daddy kisses Seokjin again!"

The five year old made a gagging noise before rolling his eyes into the back of his head like he was possessed, although Yoongi assumed he was trying to play dead. Just as Yoongi was about to leave with the smaller boy, Namjoon popped his head around the doorway of the living room.

"What time are you getting back?"

Yoongi couldn't control the knowing smirk on his face, Namjoon was just so obvious.

"Don't worry, we'll be a few hours. Have fun with Seokjin!"

He made sure to shout the last part to make clear to Seokjin what he was implying, which paid off judging by the indignant spluttering coming from the living room. Namjoon however just grinned and flipped him off as he walked back into the room to Seokjin, apparently finished with the conversation. Yoongi turned to see Jimin practically hopping up and down on the spot waiting for the adults to just stop talking already.

"Come on, we don't wanna miss the movie right?"

Jimin began squealing again hopping up and down with more energy this time, Yoongi had to half drag Jimin from the apartment because apparently he was just too excited to walk properly.

Once they arrived at the cinema they chose their favourite sweets and sat down in their designated cinema armchairs. Jimin was now talking a mile a minute only pausing to catch his breath back not bothering to breathe while he spoke.

"Jimin calm down, you're the only person here with me nobody's going to interrupt you, take your time. Why are you so excited anyway, it's just the cinema! Do you like The Avengers that much?"

Which in hindsight was probably a stupid question because what five year old didn't like The Avengers? Jimin's eyes suddenly started bulging like they were about to pop out of his head, Yoongi almost panicked thinking he was choking on a sweet when the little boy spoke up.

"I like The Avengers...but I like being with you more."

Yoongi would have laughed at the cheesiness had it not been for Jimin's serious expression, for some reason the boy looked distressed at the idea of him enjoying the film more than he enjoyed Yoongi's company.

"I like being with you too Jiminie. You're the cutest kid I've ever met!"

Jimin started to scream at the compliment but quietened before he could make any real noise when Yoongi held a finger over his mouth.

"You can't be that loud in the cinema Jiminie, looks like you're gonna have to accept the compliment."

Yoongi grinned at the smaller boy who was now blushing furiously. Hearing that the older boy enjoyed spending time with him was like a dream come true, Super Yoongi was his favourite person and he was always scared that he would get on the other boy's nerves. His eye's started b with tears as he looked at Yoongi smiling at him with such tenderness.

"What's wrong Jiminie? You're not in trouble, you just have to be a little quieter that's all."

Jimin started to shake his head vigorously while trying to swipe at his face that was now becoming tear stained. Yoongi was temporarily shocked due to the sudden onset of tears before he quickly collected himself and picked the small boy up and walked back out of the screening. Yoongi walked a little way down the street and stopped at a small cafe, carefully placing the boy into a plush armchair before crouching down in front of him, movie now completely forgotten.

"What's the matter Jiminie, are you tired all of a sudden?"

The smaller boy shook his head as the sobbing slowed to a sharp in take of breath every now and then. He moved his hands away from his face to look at the other boy crouching at eye level, face showing nothing but concern.

"I like you so much Super Yoongi, don't go. I won't make you angry."

The orange haired rapper was shocked to say the least because what on earth was Jimin talking about, maybe the little boy was tired after all?

"I'm not going to leave you minnie, why would I do that huh? I'm never angry with you."

Jimin looked considerable more relieved upon hearing the last part and then he hesitated for a second looking unsure about what he was about to tell the other. Yoongi stood up and grabbed another armchair dragging it right in front of Jimin's, so he could sit close to the boy, so close in fact that their knees were almost touching.

"It's okay, you can tell me Jiminie. Super Yoongi can fix anything remember?"

The small boy nodded his head before starting his story somewhat reluctantly, whatever it was that he was about to tell Yoongi was obviously a big deal for him.

"I got in a fight at school..."

Jimin wasn't able to finish the sentence because Yoongi physically flinched with shock and interrupted with a shout of;

"what? Oh my god, Are you okay?"

Before calming himself down and insisting that Jimin continue. The smaller boy's voice was now wobbling, worried that the elder was disappointed in him.

"I got in a fight with TaeTae and now we're not friends!"

Yoongi wasn't sure what this had to do with him being angry and leaving but Jimin seemed so irate that he probably wasn't even thinking straight anymore. He hushed Jimin once again whispering promises that he was going to be okay while slowly rubbing comforting circles into his back.

"Wait here Jiminie, I'll go get us some drinks and something to eat and we can't talk yeah? I'll be right there, you can still see me from here okay."

The older boy walked towards the girl behind the counter clearly trying hard not to overhear their conversation. He ordered a hot chocolate and a muffin for Jimin and just a coffee for himself, waiting at the counter while it was prepared. He took this opportunity to think though the best course of action because, did Namjoon know about this? If he did surely he would have told Yoongi. Unless of course it wasn't a serious fight, but then why would Jimin be crying if it wasn't at least a little bit serious? He was extremely confused about what he should do and whether he should call Namjoon to ask about what happened. Suddenly a tray was placed in front of him, his order now complete, with this he thanked the waitress and made his way to Jimin.

"Okay, here we go. Delicious food always helps me when I'm sad."

He tried to use a gentle hushed tone whilst placing the food before Jimin and re-taking the seat opposite. Jimin looked a little calmer although he was still shaking, but at least he wasn't crying anymore.

"Why don't you start from the beginning, I'm sure you and Taehyung will be friends again. You guys have been best friends since birth practically."

Jimin giggled a little at that because it was true and TaeTae was the best, he hoped that yoongi would be right as usual.

"I told TaetTae that you were taking me to see the film, so we started to talking about who was the bestest Avenger. TaeTae said Black Widow because she was cool without having super powers and I said that my Super Yoongi was cooler than her."

Yoongi would have laughed fondly at the small boy across from him, had he not started welling up again and shaking more prominently.

"Here it's okay, have a sip of your hot chocolate, yeah?"

Jimin nodded and began taking a sip of his drink before wincing at the burning sensation on his tongue to which Yoongi hurriedly took the cup from him placing is back down on the table.

"Was that too hot, do you need some water?"

The five year old shook his head and moved further into his seat till he was resting against the back of the chair, waiting for the elder boy to signal that he should carry on with his story. Yoongi could help but think how cute and well behaved Jimin really was even when he was so clearly upset. He then copied Jimin, sitting back in his chair and nodded for him to continue.

"Um, When I said that TaeTae laughed at me!"

The boy's voice raising slightly in anger and disbelief that his bestfriend would do that. Yoongi didn't bother telling Jimin to quiet down this time, feeling it was a little unfair to scold the boy when he couldn't help being so emotional right now.

"He said that you weren't..."

Jimin suddenly burst into tears covering his face with his tiny hands sobbing loudly. Yoongi did the only thing he could think of, which was to pick Jimin up and place the small boy in his lap whilst rubbing his back making soothing noises to calm him.

"It's okay Jiminie, don't cry I'm still here."

This was all it took to make the boy start speaking again even though he was sobbing so hard Yoongi could barely understand what he was saying.

"He said that you weren't a real Super Hero. He said that you were like everyone else. He said that I get on everyone's nerves, even yours!"

The poor boy was practically gasping for air now that he'd finally gotten it all out and Yoongi was in a complete state of shock. He buried Jimin's face in his chest and restarted making soothing sounds to comfort him.

"Why would Taehyung say something like that? He loves you so much Minnie!"

Jimin was back to taking sharp intakes of breath instead of actually crying and Yoongi wouldn't have been surprised if the young boy had cried himself dry.

"He said that I annoy everyone but not him, he said only he's allowed to love me."

Oh. Well that changes things a little bit but at least this means they're going to be best friends again come tomorrow morning.

"Jiminie, I think Tae said that because he's jealous. You keep talking about me but he's your best friend, he loves you just as much as you love me. So hearing you talk about me more probably makes him sad, Minnie."

The boy in his lap suddenly froze with panic, he had never thought about it like that. Did TaeTae really love him as much as he loved Super Yoongi? If Yoongi always talked about someone else instead of him, he'd be more than upset. Jimin curled up in a ball in Yoongi's lap making pathetic little whimpering noise because he was unable to cry anymore.

"What's the matter, you two can be best friends again now. You can call him from your dad's phone when we get home and then you'll see each other for school in the morning."

Yoongi tried to pick Jimin up and get him to show his face but he refused to budge.

"I can't be friends with TaeTae, I was mean to him. I'm a meanie, TaeTae won't love me anymore!"

Jimin now frustrated shout-whispered at Yoongi like it was obvious. How could Super Yoongi think this was okay? He'd ruined his friendship with TaeTae!

"No Jiminie, that's not true. TaeTae was jealous and he's probably sad that you had a fight but he'll be so happy if you call and apologise. Tell him that he's your best friend and that you think he's a superhero just like me, tell him he's just as special to you as I am."

Sitting up carefully and looking doubtful for a moment Jimin then nodded.

"I trust you Super Yoongi, you always fix everything."

When they got back to the apartment Jimin went running in to get his dad's phone, not bothering to speak to anyone as he rang TaeTae's daddy's number. He asked to speak to his best friend because of an emergency. Five minutes later Jimin started screaming excitedly running around the front room as fast as his little legs could carry him.

"SUPER YOONGI IS THE BEST. SUPER YOONGI FIXES EVERYTHING!"
