When Death Finds Me

Prologue

"When death finds me I am usually in bed late at night, trying to sweat my dreams away. In nightly visions is where I find the bringer of all ending though it is only when I awake that my true vision arises."

  Any true gift is shadowed by a curse and so it can be said that along with all curses there surely must be a gift. That is what she believed from the day her cursed existence was first explained to her.

  "We can give you a medicine that will forever allow you to never dream again" they said once all had been explained. She hadn't been mindfully present enough that day to realise that that had been her one true shot at normalcy. Had she truly been there in mind just as she clearly had been in body, she would have taken the 'get out of jail' free pass to a dreamless life. But she'd had her reasons then and they had their reasons now.

"You're far too old!"

 "It'd make no difference now dear...” 

"But you'd only risk losing your life's memories if we gave it to you now. I'm afraid you're too late... Sorry"

But nobody was as sorry as she was as she sat glued to her laptop at her favourite café and tried not to hear the commotion drawing spectators outside.
