It was late at night in South Korea when Jonghyun couldn’t stop giggling and grinning like a happy idiot, no lights on apart from the screen of his cellphone which was giving off a dimmed, cool tone light, hurting his eyes a little actually, but he couldn’t care less. It was the night before his boyfriend would come back home from a trip to America, San Francisco to be exact and as happy as Jonghyun was for the younger to make one of his dreams come true, which was visiting this specific town, he couldn’t be happier to finally have him back home and in his arms.

The last weeks were really calm, but also very lonely. The time difference often making it hard for them to talk to each other properly, but they still managed to do it somehow, maybe not perfectly, but that didn’t matter. Both of them were pretty good at spending time without the other, but still it was somehow different to know your partner was just a couple of minutes away from you than when a whole ocean parted you. It was a different type of lonely, it was a much more uncomfortable kind of lonely. 
" Wait. I will call you, is that alright ? " Kibum asked via text, nodding softly to himself Jonghyun simply replied with an " Of course. "
Not many seconds passed until Jonghyun’s phone already started vibrating, showing off his boyfriend’s caller ID and a cute picture of him holding a big sunflower in his hands on a sunny day. Smiling at that, Jonghyun didn’t want to waste much time and let his 'little angel‘ wait too long, so he picked up the call and greeted his lover with a cheerful " Heeeey! "

" Jonghyun.. isn’t it like 2 am over there I don’t think your neighbours are too happy with you talking that loudly at such an hour. " Was Kibum’s immediate reaction, his voice not sounding serious though, he wasn’t nagging, pretty amused actually. 
" Yeah you’re right, but I’m just so happy right now it was kinda hard to control my voice. " Jonghyun smiled softly, turning onto his back after lying on his stomach way too long already, a heavy sigh leaving his lips and he first noticed then how much his eyes were actually flickering and how tired he was.
" Cute. " Kibum stated as Jonghyun was able to hear rustling sounds from the other end of the line.
" You’re in bed, too or something ? " Jonghyun asked, frowning a little and gazing around his room until his eyes stopped at the window, gentle laughter reaching his left ear, his heart fluttering at the sound.
" Yeah I… pretty much wanted to feel like I am with you, by your side in bed, you know ? " Kibum’s voice sounded so soft and the older knew too well that the latter was blushing while telling him about this cheesy thought he had which made him end up in bed as well.
