And Jaemin laughs at him because Marks pretty sure he's blushing, it's embarrassing. "I just-I don't know. Nothing happened." Mark mutters, a little annoyed Donghyuck told him, feels a little guilty too but it was all friendly enough, this 'cuddling' Jaemin seems too happy to tease about. "Bestfriends can cuddle." Mark complains, to which Jaemin says, "Not like that." And yeah-he guesses Jaemin has a point.
As calmly as he can manage he's forced to turn and ask, "what's this?" "Are you feeling alright?" Seungkwan says, smile in his eyes and it's sadistic when he says, "You seem off." "I'm fine." Vernon sighs out because he's here, right here, Seungkwans voice and his heat and god- "Wanna look at me and tell me that again?"
As of this moment they're just neighbors. Donghyuck never says a word to Mark, and just like before he helps the younger collect those fruit of his and when the boy stands with the bag in his hands Mark tries to hand him the last tangerine. Donghyuck turns away from him quite easily. Like they were never in love.
The exchange, the give and take of words is obvious to him in the moment. "Take me out on a date. Make it up to me." "A date?" "A date." Donghyuck confirms, already grinning because Mark is backing up, blinking wildly at him. (basically Donghyuck falling for Mark)
"it should go without saying, when jisung stares and stares and stares at chenle, who can feel that he is but ignores it, that jisung wants attention. jisung only calls him hyung when he wants something, and that something right now being chenle." (chenji being in love)
"you know why." he's sure seungcheol doesn't but he's bitter. tears threatening to fall over and wet his cheeks but he won't let them, he'll squeeze his eyes shut and pretend he doesn't know seungcheol leans in to look at him. the lemons have even been covered with sugar, as if it would help.
"I mean-I'm used to it by now. The whole rescuing people thing." Jisung tells him, tries to avoid Chenle's gaze cause it's so honest and so absolute when he stares at him. Takes Jisungs hand to press right up against his own chest when he says, "I wanna be someone who saves you, Jisung. Your superhero."
Mark is somewhat convinced that Lee Donghyuck is actually an alien. It only makes sense. Normal people aren't that pretty.
"I can't-like-explain what it is about relationships that terrify me so much, I can't." "You want to kiss me though." Donghyuck points out, eyebrows raised. "Yes." Mark almost cries. "Yes?" "Yes and No." The elder whines, starting them over in this vicious cycle of theirs.
The younger makes up everything that he is. With no Donghyuck to love he doesn't have a purpose, empty as the universe with no stars, no moons or planets or the sun, just dead, unmoving. Useless. His everything is completely full of the boy.
Everyone who knows Lee Donghyuck knows this: he's quite the charmer. Mark Lee, exactly his type, the way to go about this, he thinks, is to have him. It only makes sense.
