Onew (Jinki) is a guide for the recently departed, leading their souls down the path to either cross over or move onto their next life.  He has no memory of his time on Earth before this and had given up on finding out who he really was until a car accident victim causes emotions to stir inside him that he thought had been lost with his life and his memories when he came here.
