HIATUS STATUS

This site was my first. As such, I cannot delete it. But I'm not sure what to do with it since ShyRainbowScarf is no longer active and I don't write HET on my own.

Also, I have neglected this site for so long, I'm not sure anyone is still reading it.

I need to think on it.

"Fanfiction is what literature might look like if it were reinvented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker. They don't do it for money. That's not what it's about. The writers write it and put it up online just for the satisfaction. They're fans, but they're not silent, couchbound consumers of media. The culture talks to them, and they talk back to the culture in its own language."

- Lev Grossman, TIME, July 18, 2011

About Me

ZTARPLAY
Color:
You're looking at it

Writing Style:
I would say I write scripts the most.  Too much to be a drabble but not quite a novel.
Languages:
English and Spanish. And a little bit of everything else.

Quirks
A busy insomniac.
A little too honest.
A little less freaky.

Why I read fanfiction:

You know, I often wonder what it is about fanfics that attracts me so much; where good stories don't always come in a pretty package and pretty words perfectly put together, and when there are certainly just as creative things being published out there. Which I do find from time to time. But it's about the POV that at the moment is better found in this GENRE. [Yes, I do consider fanfics a genre of its own.] It's stuff like love not being defined by a set of easy or logical rules that gives me a bit of hope for what's to come. Unconscious or not, it's an attitude that's being expressed here. And the thought of IT being here... somewhere... anywhere... encourages me to keep smiling even when I don't see IT anywhere else.

Why I post on AFF:

"It's not about being a good or bad writer. You can be horrible at expressing your ideas but have a great idea to work with. And if you ask me, I think AFF writers have that as basic talent. I believe the expressive term is 'rough around the edges.' And that's why feedback is important. Because it helps you to know what you need to work on or simply that to someone, somewhere, there is interest. It's not about pleasing everybody. That's impossible. Everyone is different and have many interests and preferences. But I guess... just knowing that someone has the same preference I do would be comforting. That my characters are relevant in some way. Because they are to me. I like to create. And I mostly create for myself. But if I can have someone give a little direction when I'm lost, creating for someone else isn't that bad either."
