she was 5 when the sweet kisses and i love yous turned into constant screaming and punches. she was 5 when she first locked herself into her room, cried, and turned to drawing as her parents ruthlessly threw words of profanity at each other. she was 5 when she realized that something was wrong.

she was 7 when her mom remarried. she was 7 when her step father first hit her. she was 7 when she realized that life was not a disney movie.

son naeun became independent at a very early age. with the divorce of her parents and the abuse she recieved from her step father, her personality molded into one of an introvert. quiet, timid, and shy, naeun devoted most of her younger days to art. it was her safe haven; the moment she picked up her pencil, all her worries washed away. she was happy for those few hours.

with her infatuation of art starting at such a young age, it was a given that it'd play a role in her future. naeun now majors in art. while she does continue to suffer from the scars of her earlier days, she's content with the fact that she's pursuing the one thing that she loves the most.
