Personal Message

Hey everyone, nice to meet you all and welcome to my humble profile!

It has been six years since I recalled having heard of this site back then when I was only 13 years old. An incident that led up to me discovering Asianfanfics.com was when a classmate of mine suggested that I should check it out one day, a few days after she found out about my passion and affinity for writing as well as my moderate interest in K-Pop. Now, I barely knew anything about K-Pop and what it was about and on top of that, I was never really a social individual even to this day. However, writing was always and still is one of the things that makes me happy and so she took the initiative and walked me through the basics of Fanfiction and K-Pop itself.

I kid you not – I spent hours browsing through the stories and I still remember being so fascinated and inspired by so many amazingly gifted authors with such marvelous writing-skills that I would give anything to have! Regardless of that, I still did not have the courage to actually post any of my works that I had been working on, whether or not they were completed or on-going at the time, up until a few weeks ago. Hence, an account under the name "Myst Lavonna" was born but I decided to go ahead and posted one of my most recent works to date instead of the older ones due to my atrocious style of writing which I have yet to fix.

My message here is that you do not have to repeat the history of what I did back then, being so ashamed of your works and so afraid of criticism because you believe that you are not on-par with other writers. My dear, I assure you, that you have nothing to worry about. Criticism is meant to be taken as a guideline so that you can improve and it actually gives you an approximation to how well the readers receive your delivery and what you can do to better yourself and your skills. Please do not put down yourself, ever, or think that you are anything less-than.

Let us work hard and grow together as a human being, a reader as well as a writer. Fighting! ❤

Yours truly,

Myst Lavonna.

About Me

About:

  • Myst Lavonna, 19, a March-born Pisces and currently a college sophomore.
  • The name "Myst" originates from the word mystique (which is a quality of mystery or charisma) whereas "Lavonna" is actually a French middle name of a character from one of my works (in which the definition of the name is an archer or a yew). When combined, Myst Lavonna literally means "(a) mysterious archer" or "(a) charismatic archer".
  • I can be described in one short description as an individual who is not much of a talker in real life unless I am with my small circle group of friends, otherwise I tend to stick to myself and mind my own business. I swear I am not that scary when I am online though, so no worries!
  • Being a highly self-critical individual who happens to be in a love-hate relationship with perfectionism, I try to put a piece of myself in each of my work and hopefully I manage to do so with the best possible quality while still have rooms for further improvement.
  • Regardless of the fact that I admittedly do have my fangirl moments as a reader, especially during the very much adorable yet infinitely sappy scenes, however I am absolutely and utterly hopeless when it comes to writing anything that involves Romance element – as embarassing as it was for me to confess that. I might give it another try in the future but for now, I would stay far away from it for everyone's sake. Haha.
  • While we are at it, in the aspect of Romantic Relationship (pairing), I am more likely to take a liking towards platonic love between the characters or even a brotherly love. This is because for me, these two are fairly easy to write about and tweak here and there to go with the storyline that I have in my head, especially when involving real and world-reknowned individuals. With that being said, I am also 100% not against other types of relationship, romantic or otherwise, but they might just not be my preference as a writer.

"Writers end up writing about their obsessions. Things that haunt them; things they can't forget; stories they carry in their bodies waiting to be released." - Natalie Goldberg
