Kim Jongin or Kai as how he likes to go by, was a child to the rich. He has never really treated other the same as how his family did. He was more rebellious than formal - he didn't turn out the way his parents wanted him to. He was homoual and his parents were homophobic, he talks casually while his parents disliked that trait of him. He was stubborn and went against what they tell him. So in the end, he just gave up and 'borrowed' some money from them then ran away. He rented a flat somewhere far away from them, where nobody really knows who he was except for countable people. That was his new life, away from the trouble and suffocating old 'home' of his. He now works as a part time dancer, a thing he also loved and his parents despised and goes to college at the same time. He is trying to manage things, he believes he can multitask but to say the truth, he's just too bad at organising the time.
