My name is insertnamehere1 (as all of you with eyes could tell). I am your average fangirl with too many feels for life and too many miles in between herself and her biases. I am an ABC (American Born Chinese), which means that 99.99999999999% of my life is devoted to getting into the Ivy League or its equivalent. In other words, I am a machine programmed to excel as much as possible with the least possible effort, and fanfiction is the way I get away from that.
Before writing for kpop fandoms, I wrote fanfiction in the Harry Potter and Bleach fandoms, which I never had the courage to post (so kudos to kpop for inspiring me enough to put my ideas out for the world to step over). I'm relatively new to kpop as a genre (got into it with Infinite in early 2012), but I'm familiar with other aspects of Korean and Asian culture through kdramas as well as anime/manga. Ironically enough, the only Asian culture whose language I can understand (Chinese), is the only culture that has yet to ensnare me. The world works in strange ways.
My bias groups are (in approximate order): EXO, Infinite, BAP, SHINee, TVXQ/JYJ, Super Junior M. My favorite girl group is A-Pink, but the only members I can identify are Chorong, Eunji, and Namjoo (is that bad?).
My ultimate biases are (in no particular order): Lay (EXO-M), all of Infinite, Daehyun (BAP), Henry (Super Junior-M), Kai (EXO-K), Luhan (EXO-M), Ryeowook (Super Junior), L.joe (Teen Top), Jonghyun (SHINee), Taemin (SHINee), Key (SHINee). And although this list doesn't reflect it, I thoroughly enjoy the charismatic rapper type, ie G-dragon, TOP, Zico, Yongguk, Zelo, etc. If I had to pick a girl group ultimate bias, it would be either Tiffany (SNSD) or Zinger (Secret).
Trivia:
- I don't mind the "Gangnam generation" because I guess you could consider me part of it.
- My first kpop song was "Before the Dawn" by Infinite.
- I will fangirl over the fictional characters of anime just as much as I will fangirl over real life kpop idols. (also characters of books--Game of Thrones, anyone?)
- It took me AGES to figure out the difference between: Woohyun and L, Seohyun and Yuri, Himchan and Jongup.
- BAP is the only group I got into solely because of its music and not because of its looks, dancing, personality, etc. (though I grew to love those things soon enough)
- On a non kpop related note, I have a really bad case of OCD when it comes to: my nails (and the distribution of nail polish on aforementioned nails), my hair (and the amount that I lose due to stress and people playing with it and stress about people playing with it), and folding paper (it's sloppy unless the edges match up perfectly).
