Myungsoo was raised by wealthy parents; mom was a famous chef, and dad was a professional painist. By the age of 3,
Myungsoo was already playing the piano, playing and composing as talented as he could with a big smile on his face. Everyone knew it;
Myungsoo was going to be just like his dad: a pianist extraordinare. All through out grade school,
Myungsoo had always won first place for every swim meet. He was becoming the best of the best, and no one denied it.
But on Myungsoo's 18th birthday, he got into a severe car accident,
causing him to not be able to get back on the piano and compete for that gold metal for more than a year and half.
Since then, Myungsoo has been trying his best,
trying to climb back up to the top and regain his rightful place of the best pianist in his league in all of S. Korea.
He's still trying.. that's all he's been doing. Like the piano was his life, his only main goal to strive for.
He pushed his friends away unintentionally till he was left with no one. Just him, and the piano.

 

He met a girl after. The girl of his dreams.
Beautiful, accomplished, kind and understanding.
An infectious smile that could light up the whole world.
A voice that left him breathless and awed.
All he ever wanted. 
They were united over their love for music and the piano. On starry nights and golden afternoons, they'd often play duets and laugh over the small things in life.

Myungsoo decided the happiest day of his life was when she agreed to be his. Even the world couldn't speak over the elated, erratic pounding of his heart.

"Myungsoo, i'm giving you a new name," she had said, with that bright smile of hers.

Do you know why? It's the only name that I can call you. But good things never last, do they?

Less than a year after she entered his life, she passed away. And he fell into a dark abyss.

The elite pianist kim joonmyun hasn't touched a piano since.
