About Me
Introduce yourself: Hi! I'm DreaminOfYou!
When did you start writing as a hobby?: My first story started back in 2008 and was posted on Myspace.
What got you into writing to begin with?: Books. I love reading. I've always been a dreamer and so putting all those thoughts onto paper just makes it more real.
What do you like to write?: Romance and angst is what I'm into, but I also love horror!
How many characters do you have?: I tend to use real people in my stories, so I only have 2-3 characters that I'm developing.
Do you prefer males or females?: Females because I am one, but I can freely use my imagination when writing males.
What is your most popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?: I've only just started getting back into writing after a long hiatus so I can't say which one is the most popular yet, but I think people like my fics because they are usually written about the reader and their interactions with the celebrity character.
Do you find writing easy?: It is when there's inspiration and facts to base an idea on.
What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?: Fleshing out a real celebrity character whilst still staying true to their actual personalities. Writer's block is always a pain.
How do you come up with names for characters/places?: For names, I look online for rare, uncommon names that I can't link to faces. I don't like it when I can match a name to a face - I'd rather a clean page when I can use my imagination. For place names, I think of places that I know of and change the wording of a place name.
Are there any trends/clichés you can’t stand or are just sick of?: Text language in writing and bi/multi-language stories that don't fit.
Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day?: On my bed, anytime as long as I'm inspired and have an idea in my head!
Computer or good ol' pen and paper?: Both. Computer > Pen & paper because of spellcheck but I like jotting down ideas on pen & paper before starting on the computer.
Do you listen to music while you write?: Nope.
When you write, is there anything that helps?: A quiet room.
Tell us about a writer/s you admire: R. L. Stine & Steven King (love reading their horror books!) and Scott Westerfield (great fantasy writer!).
What inspires you?: TV, movies, books, pictures, my own life, everything has a story.
How long does it usually take you to write an entire story?: I like writing in short bursts, so most of my stories are released chapter by chapter. Hmm, 800 words an hour?
Let's talk art! Do you draw your characters?: I make photo-manips of them because that way they can look more real.
How many stories have you written so far?: Not much, prob under 10. I've been more of a reader than a writer, but I'm hoping to write more! So watch this space! :)
