Chapter 38: The minis are definitely worth joining. They help keep the writing juice flowing.
I do think it's unfair to those who did put a story in on time to extend the date.
I would be disappointed if this was the last month for the stories.
Holding them every other month would probably be more appealing, and maybe having a 2 month deadline instead of 1 month.
I don't have any pre-written stories to my name (sadly) and I was planning on doing the proposal one (damn, I was so excited for my idea, too...), but I started a new full time job on top of starting my last year of uni, and everything suddenly piled on top of me.
Chapter 38: In my opinion, yes the minis are worth joining! They give the option to participate in something potentially smaller but still diverse with the number of prompts you offer.
If you want to extend the contest, I think you should, but it may have just been a poor month for people. I'm trying to finish my other one today - there have been quite a few hiccups this month with time on my end. >.>
I think I would be disappointed. It's contests and things like these that help me to keep writing even if I'm not feeling up or motivated enough to tackle my larger works. I consider these like gateway writing. ;) haha But also quite fulfilling and entertaining in their own right!
I'd be equally interested in joining in either situation. The monthlies work for me, but I think every other month might also give people more chance to join or complete their entries. Maybe if you do the every other month approach, you can add a couple more prompts to encompass the theme of those months you're working with
For this month at least, I had literally nothing I could enter. Not for oneshots anyway. Maybe I just don't write the popular themes that much, but I couldn't have finagled much of anything (the one proposal one I had was bittersweet...) lol
Chapter 38: Yes, I do think the minis are worth holding, and they are fun and inspiring!
I probably WOULDN'T extend the mini, but that's up to you.
The minis are fun, and I would be interested, if you decide to continue them. However, again, it's up to you.
The minis would probably gain more interest, if run every other month, since people might see it as a bigger window.
The only reason I haven't entered any pre-written stories is because I get inspired to write new ones... (slaps self...)
Chapter 36: Is it allowed to not have a romantic pairing in the story, and maybe just have the characters be friends instead, or is it a requirement to have romance?
