Hi guys, this is going to be my opinion on GLEE's ship Faberry. Please note that this is my personal opinion only.

I do consider Faberry queerbaiting: Ryan Murphy knew that at the time GLEE aired, there were many people who shipped Faberry (In the E! Choice PollFaberry won first place of best ship, beating both Klaine and Brittana, who were actually canon with over 67% of the total votes).

Faberry had a massive fanbase and constitued a consistent part of the audience. At the time, around 2011-2013, it was one of the most popular WLW ships. So what did Ryan Murphy do? First of all what irked me the most is the fact that he often used deleted Faberry scenes to promote GLEE. In promos and commercials there were Faberry scenes like this one: (I always thought this was a manip and only recently discovered is an actual scene lol)

He used Faberry to promote his show, but at the same time he deleted a huge amount of Faberry interactions. He did this so often that the cast members joked about it, everytime Lea and Dianna did a Faberry scene Lea said “well we know this is gonna get cut” or something like that. This is what Lea and Brad Falchunk said during an interview:

Lea: Every time we do a Rachel and Quinn scene, we do this scene, and we’re like, “This is going to get cut.”

Brad: It’s cut. We cut it every time. It’s the same dialogue. It’s great dialogue!

Lea: We’ve had like ten scenes together that have gotten cut.

Brad: Yeah, that’s always the one to get cut.

One time Ryan used the Faberry bridesmaid scene to promote GLEE's next episode and I remember the promo said “everything is about to change” with Quinn begging Rachel to not marry Finn. He made it seem like something big regarding Faberry was gonna happen and when people watched the episode the scene wasn’t present. How is this not queerbaiting?

I think i’m gonna get hate if I say this (especially by Quinntana stans lol, please don’t hate me. I like Quinntana), but … am I the only one who feels like the Quinn x Santana hook up was a way to make Faberry stans shut up ?

I’m gonna explain myself better: even though there have been tons of hints about Quinn’s fluid uality and attraction to girls, I thought that the Quinntana hook up was incredibily random. Yeah, Quinn checked Santana out a couple of times during high school and yeah, Quinn is definitely physically attracted to Santana, but everyone who watched GLEE at the time never would have guessed that they would have ended up having with each other. I felt like the hook up was a way to make Faberry stans shut up and stop ranting about Faberry. Ryan Murphy was like “here’s Quinn having with a woman, are you happy now?"

Also the fact that he basically completely erased Quinn’s existence after that episode doesn’t sit right with me. At the end of season 3, Quinn was supposed to be one of Rachel’s closest friends, so close that they even promised to visit each other in college. And New Haven is not very far from New York apparentely because I remember that in season 5 Santana said “… the fact that Quinn is just an hour away and I never think about calling her …”

Yeah, Faberry was definitely queerbaiting, they should have ended up together. Anyways, thank you for listening to my rant lol. I hope you liked it and ship Faberry now lol.
