personality »

"Min Hwa, don't eat to much candies or you'll get sick.", "Min Kyung, you should do your homework everyday...", "Don't go to sleep after 2am, okay?". Being the older of three sisters makes you grow fast, especially when your parents don't have much time to rise them and they have to lean on you. Min Ji is a young girl, extremely responsible and hard-working, who has got no fear towards duty. Nothing is too big nor too difficult to her.  She has big dreams and she's going to accomplish them all. No matter how hard it is, she will try her best and practice until her limits. There are some people that always look on the bright side. Min Ji  is one of those people. No matter how dark is the path, how difficult the situation or how complicated a problem is, she will always confront it with a bright smile on her face. That's one of her best qualities. She has a motherly attitude, always trying to help the other girls the best she can.

When it comes to meeting new people, Min Ji is really good at it. Her sweet smile and her optimistic view can make people feel comfortable around her easily. It doesn't mind that you have just met Min Ji  in the most awkward way that you could have imagined, she'll always try to put a smile in your face and make your worries disappear. She laughs really easily, even to the most stupid joke and she's always someone to have on consideration when you want to take a break and forget about all your worries. She's talkative, get's easily excited and quite nervous, but her observance toward others can help her with her relationships. She observes everything that's happening around her like a student taking notes at school, so it really isn't much surprise when she knows when a member's going to scream at the leader, or when the manager's going to scold them for something in their dance routine. Thanks to that she has learned to avoid lots of conflicts.

Min Ji doesn't believe in imperfection and she doesn't think anyone else should either. She doesn't tolerate anything that she doesn't considers perfect. She manages to make everything fit in her (sometimes extremely) unrealistic expectations. Especially when it comes to new songs or choreographies, she has to practice them until everybody is perfectly on time, and even then, she will keep trying to find little mistakes. That makes some of her teammates get really annoyed and mad at her, but she doesn't care. She prefers perfection over making other people happy. When it comes to something she has made in her own,  she's even more strict with perfection. It's really hard for her to be proud of something she has done, and even she knows that that's not good for her, she can't help it. She's not someone who thinks very highly of herself. She has never thought that she was doing very well, good or even enough. She's not th type of girl who shows this type of feelings, but it doesn't mean that she doesn't have them. Min Ji  doesn't believe in herself, and she knows that she should change that, but god, it's to hard. She tries to fake self-confidence, but sometimes is just too much. Any critic towards her skills or her attitude makes her feel awfully bad, like if she had failed everyone that has had ever any type of hope or confidence on her. Everytime she is making something in group or in a competition, and her team loses, she will strongly blame herself, but she will never lose her temper. All those bad thought will be only on her mind.

One of Min Ji's best features is her smile. She's a young girl, she's happy, and it's really easy to find her smiling. However, she is also human. Min Ji  has other emotions, bad ones: solitude, fear, nostalgia, melancholia... The trainee's life is hard. However, that won’t stop her from attempting to appear happy.  She will put on a smile and go on with her routine, even if she's dying on the inside. Whenever someone tries to talk about "deep stuff", she changes the subject of the conversation, or just leaves. That makes her quite unable of having close relationships with other persons.

She's also really good at making other people do the tasks that she doesn't want to do. She's a likeable girl, who seems nice and sweet, and who hasn't lack in social abilities, so it isn't hard for her to convince people to do as she wishes. Even if she has to play the victim or if she causes "collateral damage" she doesn't minds, she'll be forgiven, because at the end, everybody is a puppet in her hands. Min Ji  is not afraid of lying. She lies, her friends lie, her parents lie, the CEO of her company lies... Lies and wiles are part of everyone's life, and she know's it. Then, what's so wrong with them? Why everybody aboids them? Why do people brag about being honest? She knows that always saying the truth won't  get her far away, so she has decided to make an art from lying. She's good at it, she knows it and that's probably one of her worst traits.

background »

Choi Min Ji was born the 14th of June of 1993 in Busan, South Korea. The sun had not risen yet, when her mother gave her to birth. But her story doesn't starts there, you have to go a little bit backwards in time. Lee Sun Woo was a young university student when she met Choi Tae Young. He was such a charming young man, who had already made his military training, and had just moved to her neighborhood. Slowly, the both fell in love. They started to go to dates, to the cinema, to have a walk... But all that lovely atmosphere didn't last long, because Sun Yoo became pregnant. What could do a 21-years old girl and his almost-new boyfriend in that situation? They had three options: abortion, adoption or rising the child. Both families wanted to give the child in adoption: They were both too young to be good parents, they thought, they wouldn't be able to make it. But Sun Woo loved that child. She wanted to raise it, even on her own. Tae Young supported her. Against their families wishes, they decided to move together and have that kid. They lost all contact with their parents, but they didn't mind.

When Min Ji  was born, they didn't have much time for her. Living in Busan isn't cheap, they both had to work as hard as they could, so she was usually left with a nanny. Despite that, she didn't have a bad childhood. The nannies were good, and even she might had not have all that a kid would wish for, she had lots of love from both of her parents. Years passed by, and Min Ji  started school. She was such a clever girl, her marks were always on the TOP 5 of the class. When her parents raised enough money, she started to take guitar lessons, and she was quite good at it. She even started to write her own songs. But suddenly, when Min Ji  was seven years old, everything changed. Sun Woo got pregnant again, but with twins. Ahn Soo Hwa and Ahn Soo Kyung were born the 7th of September of 2000. Min Ji  became jealous of her new sisters: they were doing fine until they came. The jealousy didn't last long, she realized that that didn't make any sens, she had to take care of her sisters, regardless of whether she wanted or not. After a few years of economical economic stability, they were back to red numbers. They tried to reduce expenses: Min Ji  had to left the guitar lessons, and she started to take care of her sisters, but it wasn't enough. Tae Young and Sun Woo had to do something to change that, and soon. They tried to search for another jobs, but thay couldn't find any. Then, a miracle happened. When they were about to be evicted, one of Tae Young's friends offered him a job in Seoul. The pay would be bigger than the one that he currently had, so he didn't think twice.  In less than a month, the Choi family moved to Seoul. The first years there were quite normal, but things changed when Min Ji  started high school. It wasn't that she was bad at it, it was that she wasn't interested. She thought that classes were boring and useless. To many hours spent in doing such things as biology, chemistry, syntax and too little to do things that she actually liked. Everybody expected that she would realize that education was the most important thing. But even still only a eleven-year-old girl, she knew that that life wasn't for her. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life behind a desk.

She discovered rap almost by accident. Min Ji  was tweleve years old, on her way back home from school when she bumped in a rap battle. Nothing too serious, just a bunch of teens dropping some rhymes, but she became really interested on that. She started doing her research, and slowly, she also began to rap. At the beginning, she wasn't the brightest star out there. Her raps where quite simple, and her lyrics weren't deep at all. But she wasn't going to let that affect her new dream of becoming a rapper. There was a bar on Itaewon, where every Friday there was a Freestyle event. She begged her parents to bring here there, and thanks to that, she improved a lot. When she was fourteen she even started to participate in those events. She went by the name of WhoShe. That was when one of Big Hit representatives approached her and told her to audition for the company.

That brought many problems into the Choi's house. Min Ji 's parents wanted her to be a doctor or a engineer, not a rapper. But, eventually, they made a deal. If Min Ji  started to do better at school, she could attend to an audition. Since then, she put more effort in studies. Her marks weren't the best, but at least she was passing all her classes. So, finally, when she was 15, the 21st of January of 2008, she made the audition for  Big Hit Entertainment. That wasn't her first audition. She had already auditioned for SM Entertainment and for Jellyfish Entertainment, but she was turned down both times.

The day of the audition, there were more than 50 people there, and Min Ji  was about to pass out. As time passed by, people were called to go in and do their auditions. When they were finished, they got out of the room, and while lots of people left, few people stayed. Min Ji  was one of the last people called. She walked into the room, and there were some people were sitting there. They didn't looked much nice nor friendly. When her song finished, any of the people there said anything other than a young man, who told her to go and wait outside.

At the end of the day, just 5 people were left. They were called into the room again, and that's where the judged started to talk. They pointed out all of the failures or good points that each audition had. They told Min Ji  that neither the rap nor her voice weren't bad, but that she looked too tense, which had made her audition look weird. She thought that that was the end. But, surprisingly, she was told that she had got in and there isn't a day where she doesn't thank God or whoever helped her for that.

family »
❝ Mother ❞ Lee Sun Woo  / 43 / Waitress / Caring, Nice, Idealistic
Sun Woo's relationship with her oldest daughter it's really good. When Min Ji was young, they were really close. Sun Woo usually spent more time at home than her housband, so that made the mother-daughter relationship grow. When Min Ji started to fail at school, she became really worried. And when Min Ji  told her that she wanted to be a rapper, she didn't support her at the beginning, but she quickly understood her daughter, and made everything she could to support her.

❝ Father ❞ Choi Tae Young  / 47 / Clerk / Hard-working, funny, strict
Tae Young didn't spent much time at home when Min Ji  was young. He was always working, so their relationship wasn't really close. When the family moved to Seoul, he started to spend more time with his daughter. He was against Min Ji  becoming a rapper. It was really hard to made him change his mind, but finally, he agreed to let her audition. When she made it, he was extremely proud.

❝ Younger Sister ❞ Choi Min Hwa / 15 / Student / Sweet, care-free, greedy
The older of the twins and Min Ji's relationship is good. Both sisters have always been close, and the younger one looks up to her sister. She's one of her biggest fans.

❝ Younger Sister ❞ Choi Min Kyung / 15 / Student / Loud, with a strong personality, funny
Soo Kyung has a really strong personality, and that causes a few fights with her older sister. She is really good at school, and doesn't care much about what others think of her. When Min Ji made it to Big Hit Entertainment, this two had a really big figh, because Min Kyung thought that she was going to loose her older sister. At the end, both of them ended un crying.

friends/rivals »
❝ Best Friends/Rivals ❞ Choi Yoo Ah / 22 / Underground Rapper / Sassy, arrogant,  creative, accepting

These two met in a rapping competition. They were in the finals, and neither of them wanted to loose. They did their best, but at the end, Yoo Ah lost, and surprisingly, she went to congratulate Min Ji . They started to hang out a lot. They helped eachother with their raps, and also competed a lot. Sometimes, Min Ji was the winner, sometimes, she was the looser. When Min Ji made the audition for Big Hit Entertainment, she asked Yoo Ah to audition with her, but she told her that
she prefered to go underground. Lately, they can't see eachother much, but they send eachother dozens of emails asking for advice in lyrics or just talking about how their day was.

personality » Funny, hard-working, competitive, quite silly, gets jealous slightly easily, stubborn.

love story » "Oh, no, he is hella cute". That was the first thing that came into Min Jo's mind when she first saw Nam Joon. It was the 5th of September of 2010, and it looked like a normal day for her: she had arrived at BIg Hit's building and at that moment, she was in her rap class with other five trainees, slightly bored, when he came in. It was his first day, and they needed somebody to show him how things worked there, and Min Ji volunteered. Nowadays, these two are great friends, they help eachother with lyrics and they hang around. Ah, and Min Ji has a really big crush on him. Like, really really big.

last words.

comments/suggestions »  I'm really sorry if my english sound weird and forced or if i've missed or misunderstood anything. English is not my first language, my grammatic and my orthography kinda of , so sorry if i've made any foolish mistake. Well, if there's anything i can improve or any mistake, please, tell me and i'll do my best! Have a lovely week!

scene requests » I would love a scene that showed Min JI beeing really motherly with her fellow members, like, beeing even slightly annoying. Idk, like, when they are going to have a date wanting to talk with the guy to make sure he won't do anything inappropriate. And, if you can, a rap battle with Nam Joon would be rally cute.
