fashion: Aemi's overall style can be described...dark? She is very picky of what she wears only because she believes what a person wears reflects who that person is on the inside. People who know her well (and ultimately her fans) know she's not  dark and cold on the inside, she just wears dark clothes to look more  like a baddass chick and less like a cute and adorble puppy to help her position as a rapper and street dancer. She often wears hoodies along with either loose tank tops (that state bold oppinions/popular slangs) and she would wear skinny crop tops if she feels like she needs to show her body off. She also never takes off her dark blue ripped jeans, unless the same jean is left to dry after being washed or when she changes into comfortale shorts for a practice session. She also prefers highheel sneakers over everything. They are sporty, they make her look tall and they show her moves better when she's dancing. So why would she ever want to take them off?

why and how were you recruited by Noel: When Aemi was turned down for the second time by YG, she got herself a ticket to go back to her hometown, Mokpo. Since she had no money left to rent a place and there was still a few hours left to her flight, she decided to just walk around and visit a few places. On her way, she found a drunk lady walking groggiliy and she decided to help her. The drunk lady just happened to be Noel and she somehow managed to tell her the address to her house and Aemi took her there. On the way, and as the older ladt drunk-talked she revealed how she was turned down by so many companies, including YG. Aemi ended up telling her she was rejected by YG for the second time just that day. Somehow in her drunk state, Noel felt pity and asked Aemi to stay in her house for the night and even said she'll buy her a ticket if she regretted it. Aemi did and when morning came, after confronting a baseball bat holding Noel and answering her question as to what the was she doing in her house and how did she get the in (uncomfotable by hearing all the curses from the old lady), she told her what Noel told her last night and Noel then took her to a dance studio and asked her what was her talents. Aemi danced to her favorite cover on Youtube and rapped [00:44-01:24] and Noel like her style of dancing and rapping and offered her a spot as a trainee in her newly build company. Aemi hesitated at first but accepted with a smile a minute later. Half of the reason being she wanted to get revenge (not the bloody and violent ones of course) from the judge that turned her down [blame Noel for tempting her and giving her the idea] and the pther half being because Noel never mentioned her cute appereance.

personality on camera : Aemi (of course) tries to wear clothes that are brighter in color than her ordinary dark clothes when she's on camera. However, when she wants to show her rapping/dancing skills, she wears caps and hoodies, just to somewhat annihilate her cute appearance. Nonetheless, Aemi will most probably be the entertainment fairy of the group because of her always smiling and happy aura, good sense of humor, somewhat dorky personality (that got her the nickname of 'KangPabo'), her weird desire to use aegyo on the younger memebrs and make fun of older members by telling them they're too old, rapping stupid lyrics just to make people around her laugh and often interveiw with animals and fruits...and etc.

the real me and my past

background:  Aemi was born in Mokpo, South Korean and although her mother was Japanese, making Aemi a half Korean and half Japanese, she never visited (or got to visit) Japan. Aemi's ultimate dreams changed multiple times due to different issues and events that occured in her life. In fact, she never even once thought (or dreamt) of becoming an idol in an idol group. Her original wish was to become a pianist, because she loved her father dearly and he used to be a pianist. She was able to learn piano fully when she was six years old and when she told her father it was her dream to make him happy by becoming a pianist, he told her that she should do whatever her heart desires. Setting that in mind, Aemi took playing the piano seriously (because she believed it was what she loved the most after her father and family), very often participating in school assemblies and such to show her natural talent. However, her dream changed the moment her father passed away due to his long struggle with his illness. She found piano...saddening unlike before, when she used to think of it as her only source of happiness. That was when her dream changed to helping her mother in running the family restaurant. Due to that, she started skipping school just so she can help her mother with her restaurant work and there was a point when she was near being kicked out of school because she had a sudden academic downfall. She gladly accepted to be kicked out but was forced to attend school by her two older sisters who managed to find a few people to take care of Aemi and tutor her in her free time. She, after struggling, managed to lift her grades. At the same time, she got close to the people who tutored her. She often ended up going out with them and they just happend to be a group of underground rappers and dancers. Just like that, she was absorbed by the hip-hop world and she started liking everything about it. She started rapping and dancing in her room, and was surprised to know she actually had a voice that suited rapping. However, when she decided to do so in front of everyone else, they made fun of her and said quote 'You're just too adroble and cute to rap and dance hip-hop'. That was when she changed her style from the girly white and pink floral dresses and highheels to black crop tops and dark ripped jeans with sneakers, not to forget her heavy eye-makeup whenever she visited the spots her friends hung out at just so she doesn't look 'cute'. She also started to write lyrics, about herself and her life and her likes and dislikes in general. However, she used so many metaphores that not even the smartest people got to know she was talking about herself all the time. At the end, she fell in love with Epik High's music. She ultimately changed her dream to becoming a rapper/dancer and so at 2012, after practicing continuesly for three years, she decided to audition for YG, the home of some of the best rappers. She was scouted, however she was thrown out (or as they said 'set free in hoped of getting more opportunities') the next day because of a said trainee who was better than her in every area, leaving no more space for her. They even mentioned how she was too cute to rap and look badass and we all know they are one the things needed if you want to be in YG. That got Aemi's heart broken to pieces. She didn't give up on her dream though and decided to practice harder to be able to achieve her dream, and that was entering YG. After some time and some sleepless nights, she audiotioned once again only to be turned down before even performing the coreography she worked days and nights for simply because one of the judges hated persistent people, specially the ones that weren't talented enough for YG as the judge said. Aemi stopped trying to get into YG eventually, and got herself a ticket to got back to her hometwon but the same night her flight was on she ended up meeting someone by chance and she was willing to give her a chance...the only thing she never got from YG...

Ever since Aemi was born, she has had a bright and bubbly personality (not quite mirroring what was truly going on inside her) and she was known for having tons of friends from everywhere. She makes friends with girls, boys, toddlers, elders, grandmas, grandpas, dogs, cats, lions, butterflies and basically every living thing. Her bubbly personality, cute and dorky behaviour, unknowingly funny comments and remarks, stupid solutions to serious problems and her weird point of veiw over things are the first things that draw people to her and make people want to befriend her. She gives a friendly vibe and she has the kind of aura that makes the people around her to approach her and talk to her and much to their shock, Aemi would always warm up and smiles at them like she has known them her whole life and they act the same as her, resaulting in her having a lot of friends. She's the groups's vitamin and moscot, meaning she always cheers for the other girls and encourages them to do better when she thinks they can do better. She's responsible for seeing the bright and goofy side of any event and with that, she makes everyone around her happy.

For the people close to her and the people who know about her past, the fact that she's so bright and bubbly after all those things she's been through is really fascinating and they think she's very strong on the inside. 

Aemi is hardworking. So much that she often tends to over-work herself. It all started when she worked hard, day and night to get into YG and when her efforts weren't enough, she thought she would never be enough (and that might have been the fist time she thought negatively about something) so she started working out for about 6 hours a day. It nearly became and obsession for her and she would always, somehow, sneak out of the dorms and into the studios to practice and improve her dancing and rapping skills. Due to how focused she was, she started losing weight and meals without realizing it, causing Noel to get worried for her and order Aemi to take some time off to get a hold of herself. 

As bright and bubbly and cute Aemi is, she hates and tends to react negatively ( and that would be faking some ugly sobs) when she's called a cutey. True, she has cute features (not in the big doe-eyes, small lips, animation kind of cute. just a look and body that can be labeled as cute) and she looks way younger than her real age but that doesn't mean she should get treated like a five year old! And she hates it when people don't let her do something because they're afraid she'll hurt herself. She would always tell them 'I'm old enough! I'm at an age where I can get drunk and you can't hold me back. So is really going to a grocery shop that dangerious?'

Along with all her personality traits, one should not be forgotten. Aemi says curse words ONLY when she's rapping or listening to rap song because in her own prespective 'I'm some one else when there's hip-hop music around' and she tends to become silent when she hears someone badmouth in real life without  background music. That makes her a bit naive and childish. (this usually adds a reason as to why shouldn't she go around on her own. People usually tell her 'you can't even handle a curse word. And you call yourself old enough?' and she would answer 'Having manners doesn't mean i should get treated like a toddler'.

= Seeing people cry (she does all she can to make them laugh. Singing off-tune and beat-boxing might just be her first way. Probably because she can't beatbox...like at all.)

= Sweet foods (when she started over-working herself, she started hating candies and sweets, simply because someone told her that if one eats a single bar of chocolate, they have to walk run a few miles to burn the calories off and she didn't want to look bad when she dances so she stopped eating them although she loved them before and got used to it)
