My newest project this year, which I am writing in remarkable speed and quality I myself am happy about despite my work and study schedule, is a vampire AU Leo x HongBin fic "Steal Heart" (CLICK).
I am trying to include as many details of my personal take on vampires in the story itself, but I thought that maybe having it all in one place in a list would make more sense and would be easier understandable. Like an appendix to a book, this will be a list of qualities my vampires posses.

1) Can be created when the venom from a vampire bite overpowers the blood remaining in humans body.

When feeding a vampire can go too far and accidentally change the ratio of blood against venom in a human. If the ration of venom is higher then the human will most probably turn in to a vampire or just experience severe fewer or nausea while the blood fight outs the venom. When blood remains in the system more than venom, it just causes memory loss of the event of biting and fast healing of the bite wound.

2) When becoming a vampire:

One experiences severe, bone crushing pain and ultimate a heart failure. The heart no longer is the organ that keeps them alive, but the vampire venom. It carries the blood around the system keeping it perfectly functional as a human being (minus carrying a child for women).

3) Human habits like breathing and sleeping are not mandatory. Breathing is mostly used as a sense of smell while sleeping can be omitted almost completely. Same goes for living by human daily routines - getting up and going to bed at night. Each vampire chooses their routines individually and are not bound by any laws or feelings.

4) To survive feeding happens only from human blood.

No substitute of animal blood can be sufficient enough for a vampire. Raw human flesh can be used as a substitute of blood, but only temporarily.

5) Cannot be killed with a wooden stake through the heart.

The heart no longer carries a significant meaning in the organism thus why destroying it won't do anything but cause tremendous pain.

6) Affected by sunlight.

Direct sunlight burns the skin, leaving minimal scars afterwards. It cannot kill, just cripple and torment the vampire.

7) Can be killed only when beheaded.

Only cutting off a vampires head will kill one. Nothing else.

8) Not afraid of crosses, holly water, priests, churches and any other religious symbols or actions.

The curse goes further in the past than the bible and thus biblical symbols cannot effect a vampire. Some vampires are even highly religious.

9) Visually doesn't stand out almost at all:

Theyre skin does not whiten to unreasonable extents when they are turned. They keep their human eye color on regular basis, their hair still grow. The only noticeable change are the fangs, that do grow longer when feeding, but are longer than regular teeth on daily baisis as well.

10) Eye color:

As said before, vampires keep their human eye color, yet when they hunt or experience any other strong emotion like, for example, lust, their eyes change their color to an unique tone. Each vampire has an unique eye tone and no two are alike.

11) Emotions:

Even though their heart as an organ does not function, it functions in its metaphorical meaning. Vampires can experience love, hate, lust, joy, sorrow etc. - any emotion a human can, only usually much stronger than a human would. They can cry and laugh and in no way they are emotionless or by default evil. Just like anyone, they can make their own choices.

12) Special powers:

All vampires posses strength, speed, agility, vision, scent and hearing more developed than human. The can see in the dark, run faster than eye can follow, lift and throw heavy objects and break bones with a single touch. Very small part of vampire population possess any other extraordinary powers. Some see dreams that are like visions of future, some can very precisely tell what others are thinking. The cases are rare and not widely spread.

13) Other mythical creatures:

This particular AU focuses on vampires, but at the same time werewolves and ghosts in this particular universe are as real as vampires, only doesn't take part in any of the events.

So, in short this is my take on vampires.
