(This post will contain a few spoilers so if you haven't read all of the chapters in DMaF yet, it may give a couple things away. If you don't mind, then read on ahead! But if you are a person that would mind, I'd advise you to finish looking over the story first)

I finally finished compiling a playlist for DMaF, and the reason for this post is basically to say why I chose each song. Also, just a little note, the playlist will grow as more happens in the story, because there are certain songs that I know will make sense to use as the storyline progresses.

Song #1: It Hurts by 2NE1

This song was chosen because it's about a girl who can't erase the memories of someone she loved - which corresponds perfectly with Hanah's current state of mind regarding Sehun. The lyrics describe the hurtful feeling of not meaning as much to someone as you used to. Near the end, it also talks about how the boy has become farther away, and is no longer his original self (which describes Sehun perfectly). And, of course, I feel like the general sound of this song matches extremely well with the tone of the plot.

Song #2: Ice Baby by Tiny G

As soon as I heard this song, I knew it was perfect to represent Sehun's transformation from the warm best friend to the cold jerk. It's about a boy that has turned cold (hence the title "ice baby") and entirely changed the way he treats this girl. Despite that he was the one to start it all by approaching her first, she's the one who is ending up hurt. It fits almost perfectly, right?

Song #3: Scandal by Ailee

There was a large period of time when I found myself obessed with this song, so that's probably the main reason I wanted to have it on this list so badly, but it does also fit sufficiently well (though not perfectly) with the plotline in DMaF. It's about a girl who can't have the boy that she wants, because his love story is perfect without her in it. She denies that he would ever like someone that's not her, and continues to wait for him (even though she has reason to believe that he's in love with someone else). It's rather similar to Hanah's perspective concerning Ms. Lee and Sehun, right?

Song #4: Every Night by EXID

This song is about a girl who's being played by a boy, and even though she's trying to accept that they cannot be a couple, he keeps calling her and making her helplessly fall in love all over again. Likewise, Hanah is constantly reminding herself that Sehun doesn't like her, and can't stop liking him anyways. Sehun knows, and is taking advantage of her, just like the boy described by the song.

Song #5: Missing You Like Crazy by Taeyeon

Hanah has been trying to get the old Sehun back for a while, and this song matches that motive very well; it's about a girl that's deeply in love with a boy who doesn't care about her. Her heart hurts and she wants nothing more than for him to come back and say that he cherishes her. Although the song is centered around a feeling of longing for a real boy, and Hanah is longing for someone that no longer exists, the emotions are identical. Plus, I love the way Taeyeon's voice sounds here - the way she sings it makes the emotions conveyed by the lyrics tangible.

Song #6: Quit Playing by U KISS

Although this one doesn't correspond with any exact character or event in the story, it does go along with the general plot. I'm sure you can guess what it's about from the title of the track - it's a song from a boy to a pretty girl, telling her to stop playing with him. And DMaF is similarly full of games: Hanah's fake feelings towards Luhan, the way Sehun is taking advantage of Hanah, and, looking at the lyrics, it even seems to describe how Sehun feels about Ms. Lee. Plus it's so freaking catchy!!

Song #7: Caffiene by Yoseob

This song, just like the last one, is an all-around song that basically just describes all of the the characters' positions. It encaptures the feeling of not being able to get someone out of your mind, which can basically match any of the characters. As the story continues, I think it will be able to connect even more literally.

Song #8: Flower by Junhyung

In all honesty, I don't really know how this song connects to the story. I'm sure if I thought about it long enough, I'd come up with something; but, I pretty much just added it because the sound of it matched the story exceptionally well. Plus, Junhyung's lyrics are so beautiful and poetic.

Song #9: Come Back To Me by Bii

I suppose we could say that this song matches with how Hanah wants the old Sehun back for now. It will come into play much better later on in the story, though.
