Geminid Meteor Shower

I've read about this meteor shower a week ago when I was researching about stars and constellations for a story of mine and I memorized the peak date (December 13 and 14 of this year and can be seen in the Northern Hemisphere) but then I totally forgot about it...

...that is, until shining posted about it on her instagram.

So last night, I stayed awake until 1AM and my freaking gods, I saw it.

Do you know how much I struggled to choke back a squeal because my family were all sleeping and I really don't want to wake the neighbors up. Around 10PM to 11PM (Philippine Standard Time), I only saw a few from time to time but around 12AM, omg! I swear. I wanted to cry at that moment. They appear every two to three (or half) minutes after the last one. There's this one shooting star happened in front of my face making a bright visible line which slowly disappeared. It was so close I feel like squealing.

You see, it's my first stargazing so excuse me for being overly dramatic. lol. I wish I was at the roof though for a better view. :(

So, how about you guys? Have you seen it? If you haven't, try your luck tonight. I've read this meteor shower comes every year (December 7-17), peaking usually at December 13-14. Maybe I'll try again tonight though. If the sky is clear. Teehee!
