Style: AeRi has found a happy medium of cute and cozy. Her casual attire consists of low heel sandals and a cute sundress. If cold, she can add a fitted sweater to compliment the look. She keeps her accessories minimal, generally just a necklace or a bracelet is enough for her. At practice she’ll wear supported wedge heels with jean shorts and a tank top. Her color choices are chic and soft, usually chosen to complement however she’s opted to wear her hair that day. Around the dorm her style shifts towards the relaxed with leggings under loose sweatshirts, and she’ll usually just go around barefooted.

Personality: Aeri is a very independent girl, with big dreams for the future. She works hard and doesn’t want help from anyone. Her stubborn independence can cause problems when she genuinely can’t do something on her own, however, as she will still refuse to accept assistance. That is not to say that she dislikes criticism. If someone has suggestions for improvement, she is always more than willing to listen and consider the advice. She just doesn’t want people to “do her job for her.”

On first meeting her, Aeri seems to be a sweet, polite girl. Not to say that she isn’t, as she’s certainly a model citizen when around authority, strangers, or cameras. But this girl knows how to party, and she’s not afraid to let loose and be a little crazy when the time calls for it. She has a sharp sense of humor that consists of a healthy dosage of dry sarcasm swirled with light teasing and fried in general dorkiness. She often serves it with a side of contagious giggling and sprinkles the whole thing with extremely derpy aegyo.

As easily seen with her extensive contributions to not only SeuTa’s tracks but also Lunar’s and several STAR soloists’ albums, Aeri has a very strong work ethic. She believes that one must work hard to earn what they are given, and thus has a slight revulsion towards gifts or anything that’s supposedly ‘no-strings-attached.’ It’s not that she’s had a bad experience to make her this way, she just feels that she should give as much as she gets, and she expects others to respond in kind. So she doesn’t give gifts either.

Background: When Emily Jacobs moved to Korea from Canada to work at Seoul International Hospital, she was not intending to have a child. She was even less prepared to have two - and with two different men, neither of whom she was married to. However, when lovers Kyuhyun and Jaehyun approached her with a request to be the surrogate mother for their children, she couldn’t turn them down. And so Aeri came into existence. Two years later, Emily offered to carry a child fertilized by one of Kyuhyun’s (Aeri had come from Jaehyun), and a year later, after two unsuccessful attempts, Jun was born. As the children grew, they knew Emily as an aunt, and were both aware that she had been the one to birth them. However, Jae and Kyu were their parents, and they announced that proudly to anyone who had a problem with it. She was very close to all three of her parents, and they spoiled her constantly, much to Jun’s annoyance.

Aeri has been a vocalist since day one. She started voice lessons when she was just four years old after showing a strong aptitude for singing. Her parents were only too happy to pave the way towards her dreams, and when she was just seven years old she declared that she wanted to be a singer. Her parents supported her completely on the condition that she finish her primary education first. So it wasn’t until the end of high school that Aeri started auditioning. She was accepted into both JYP and YG entertainment, but she ultimately decided on YG. She spent six months training at the company, and it was there that she found her second musical talent: songwriting. Aeri absolutely loved composing songs, often slaving away into the night with good friend and fellow trainee Kim Hanbin.

When she was sixteen and Jun was thirteen, the Song family (sans Emily, who had work) went on a cross-Korea vacation during Spring Break. The first four days were awesome - the only hitch was when Aeri and Jun accidentally ran away from their dads in excitement and briefly got lost in a crowd - but on the morning of the fifth day, there was a heavy rainstorm. Another car veered out of its lane, hydroplaning into the side of the Song car. Kyuhyun and Aeri suffered the least damage with just a few cuts and bruises. Jaehun had a gash across his forehead and a dislocated arm but was otherwise fine. Jun however, had taken almost the full brunt of the collision. He ended up losing both legs from the knee down.

Trainee life: Aeri’s time at YG was hard, to say the least. Between school and training, she had almost no time to herself, or to sleep. Her grades suffered slightly for it, and her dads threatened to make her drop out of YG if her school performance didn’t improve. With assistance from her ex Dokyun, she managed to catch up in school and graduate at the top of her class. Around the same time, she decided to change companies. Although she loved YG, and especially working with the amazingly talented songwriters contracted there, she felt that she would never be able to stand on her own as a composer if she remained at one of the big three. She talked to YG directly about this, and he actually suggested STAR, knowing that they didn’t have any composers among their debuted soloists. The transfer went smoothly, and STAR started preparing the talented girl for an immediate debut. However, when she heard rumors of a possible girl group being formed, she asked if she could be part of the project. A few months later, SeuTa debuted with a song that AeRi had written specifically for a group.

Personality: Yookyung is a confusing mix of dorky and shy. Sometimes she goes crazy and acts out, being as goofy as she likes, but other times she’s little more than a wallflower. She’s honestly just very confused about herself and her role in the world, and despite unending support from her friends and family she still feels that she’s not good enough, or that there’s something wrong with her. When not being self conscious, Yookyung is actually a very bright, somewhat silly, adorably innocent girl. She tosses her love at people and refuses to take it back until they want to keep it. She’s loyal, dedicated, and maybe a little bemused most of the time, but she works hard and always does her very best.

How you met: A-Pink and SeuTa were promoting at the same time, and they ended up hanging around the same backstage area for a bit. Once names were swapped, though, the girls mostly scattered to do their own things. Except for Yookyung and Aeri. Aeri because she thought Yookyung was cute (she was not completely aware of her biuality at the time, though), and Yookyung because she didn’t really have anywhere to be. The two ended up talking together for the remainder of their time at the event, and Aeri managed to kidnap Yookyung’s phone long enough to get her number. Since then the older girl texts the younger obsessively, and Yookyung has gotten used to it enough to always respond - eventually.

Interactions: Quite frankly, Aeri confuses Yookyung. The older girl is always going out of her way to spend time with Yookyung, and is more than happy to talk the hours away when Yookyung is in one of her silent moods. And when Yookyung is feeling carefree and dorky, Aeri is right there to dork with her, always laughing with her and initiating a lot of skinship. Slowly, Yookyung becomes more comfortable and confident with Aeri around, though she still isn’t sure why she cares so much about being around the other, or why her heartbeat increase when the composer is around. Aeri for her part was quick to realize that her feelings for Yookyung extended past the platonic, and does her best to make the girl smile.

Conclusion: Yookyung is actually the one who ends up confessing to Aeri. The moment she does, Aeri whips out the necklace that she’s been carrying around for months and promptly asks Yookyung to be her girlfriend. They keep their relationship secret from their friends and families, worried about the possible backlash, but Yookyung noticeably opens up and becomes more consistently confident, and Aeri successfully pens her first happy love song.
