Life Background: Born Jaehwa Seo she was born to an american born  japanese-korean father and a chinese mother. Jae don't remember most of her early childhood. At age 5 Jae's family moved to the U.S. Her father was college professor and her mom worked at a nail salon. She spent most of her days at the salon store where she began her obsession over nails. She was pretty close to her mom, but didn't rely on her heavily like her sisters. Faith wasn't home alot of the times so the two siblings are somewhat distant. Aileen often played with Jae, but got bored of Jae just reading books, and playing at the salon. Jae didn't know what she wanted to do until she saw Tiger T and Lady T and then had wanted to become a rapper. Her parents were against that idea and told her that she should stick to school. She wanted to attend Seoul University so at age 13 she and her grandfather convinced her parents to let her continue her schooling in South Korea that way Jae could secretly pursue being an idol. Reluctantly they agreed and she moved to Incheon at 13. In South Korea her grandfather helped try out for companies. 

How you became a trainee: A year after she moved to Korea at 14 she was accepted into YG and was a trainee up until she was 17. She was a back up dancer for 2ne1 a few times. YG had traded Jae to SM Entertainment where continued to train now.
