Kim Haneul is a caring person. She will always care about someone and make they’re ok. She will do anything for the people that she cares for. She is a cheerful person. She is never in a bad mood and rarely gets upset. She tries to cheer everyone up. It baffles the members when she’s up at 6 in the morning and is automatically happy. She’s like the energizer bunny according to some members. Haneul is kind of a witty person. It comes with being cheerful. Kim Haneul was born on May 10, 1995 in Busan, Korea. She was raised into a strict family, since her father was a lawyer, her mother was a secretary and her brother a doctor. They all had normal professions and Haneul’s dad wanted her to follow in his footsteps. But, Haneul had other plans. She was considered the odd one, since she always changed her dreams. One day she wanted to be a firefighter and the next day she wanted to be a talk show host. Then Hanuel wanted to become a magician and do tricks that would amaze people. Soon, Haneul’s dream changed once again from wanting to be a magician to a singer. Haneul wanted to sing and be on stage. She loved to sing along to songs on the radio when she and her family use to travel to Seoul.
Around the age of 7, her parents signed her up for singing lessons thinking it was a phase and it would pass. As she got more into it, her passion for singing grew as well. As she got older, she sang in a couple of talents shows and won a few prizes. Around the age of 15, she got into KPOP from watching a few music videos with her brother at the time. She fell in love with Girls Generation and the Wondergirls.
One of Haneul’s friends told her about an audition that GH was holding and encouraged Haneul to go. Haneul went and auditioned. During her audition, Haneul thought she was going to mess up but sung the song without mistakes. The agency liked her and a few weeks later she was accepted. When she finally told her parents about it, her father was not happy. He wanted her to have a stable career, one that would benefit her. He didn’t really care for the idol life because he thought it gave her no future. Hanuel ignored her father’s protest and joined GH anyway, with her mother’s permission. Since she got excepted, Haneul doesn’t have a great relationship with her father. He still thinks Haneul is wasting her time.

Although when it came to dancing, that's a different story, Haneul is clumsy and always forgets the dance numbers. So to improve, Haneul stayed behind extra hours so she could practise. first meeting
They actually met through mutal friends who were having a party. They were both introduced and kind of at first didn't hit off. Krystal thoguht Haneul was a little too cheerful and Haneul thought Krystal was too quiet. While there, Haneul felt uncomfortable with the silence and kept trying to crack witty jokes which were lame in Krystal's opinion. Nonetheless she did enjoy Haneul's attempt to lighten the mood. They met again when Haneul bumped into Kystal at a food resturant when Haneul was with her best friend, Lee Byul. Haneul apologized after she knocked Krystal's drink on the floor. Haneul assured her she would buy her another one and she did. While Haneul knocked over Krystal's drink, she forgot her glasses on the floor and Krystal wasn't too happy about returning them to her so she put them in her bag. After two days, Krystal saw Haeul and gave her back her glasses. After that they had more encounters and soon Krystal knew Haneul by the color of her hair and by her dorky glasses.
