Are You A Good Friend? *Scenario*

Everybody wants to be a good friend right?

Are you a good friend? Do you think you're a good friend?

Have you been a good friend?

These are some of the questions we sometimes questions ourselves, but have we really?

I'm going to share with you a scenrio about a girl and I'm curious about your responses on how you would've reacted, so please leave a comment below.

Scenario:

She had a big fall out with her parents and was contantly upset about other things, but she always hid it all with a smile and laugh, no one realised that she was upset, or that she was havng suicidal thoughts, contemplating how she should kill herself after the big arguement with her parents.

Knife? Too messy...

Drowning? Takes too long.

Gun to the throat? Quick and simple, but gun is un-accessible.

Strangalation? Tried that.

Overdosing panadol? Ran out of that...

Eventually, she planned to put her attempt on suicide on hold.

The next day, the girl went to school with darker circles than usual and puffy eyes.

It was obvious that she was upset.

Not speaking a word, she walked to her group of "friends"

When her friends saw her, some of them asked her if she was ok, others would loudly whisper in front of her "What's wrong with her? Why is she like this?"

The girl remianed silent and looked away.

Her "friends" then ignored her after 5 seconds of questioning and continued on with their conversation, closing in the circle, leaving her standing by herself.

None of them did anything to comfort her, or chase after her as she slowly walked away to her next class.

When the girl reached her class, another friend asked her what was wrong.

The girl just shook her head and put her head on the desk.

The friend then shrugged and turned around to talk to another person, leaving the girl to mope by herself.

It then came to recess when the girl had to make her way to her usual spot to eat with her "friends"

the ones in the group before ignored her while she sat on the other side with rest of their other friends.

Another friend noticed and asked her if she was ok, if she needed anything.

The girl shook her head and still remained quiet.

But this friend sat with her in a some-what comfortable silence.

It then came when the girl's 2 "best friends" arrived.

One ignored her to talk to the rest of the group, while the other walked towards the silent girl and caring friend.

She then poked the silent girl's cheek asking if she was ok.

The rest of the group turned slightly to her and began whispering and pointing to her like she was some freak.

The concerned friend shot them a look, and the best friend patted her on the head, mockingly asking if she was ok, yet again.

The silent girl couldn't take it anymore and grabbed her bag, walking away to find a quiet place to be alone.

All she could think of is how insensitive her friends were being, how they weren't comforting her properly, how they never went after her.

Sure, they asked her if she was ok, but none of them did anything to consol her.

Except for one.
Only, she didn't run after her as the girl walked away yet again.

By lunch time the girl had secong thoughts whether or not she wanted to sit with her so-called "friends" again.

Yet, she did.

The girl reluctantly made her way and sat down, silently eating her lunch.

She hadn't spoken a word, only to teachers when they asked her if she was fine, or to ask her to answer a question.

Other than that, she said nothing.

The concerned friend before came up to her and asked her again to speak up, to answer on where she went after she abruptly left, and begged her to speak.

The silent girl softened her expression a bit and slowly began to answer, expressing how she was feeling, and what was the problem

The girl explained how she told her parents she hated herself and how they told her they didn't care if she hated herself or not, she should learn how to put others before herself and shouldn't be so selfish.

What they didn't know, was the girl wasn't like that at all.

She always helped her so-called friends who disappointed her.

She always knocked some sense to people who needed it.

Always making people laugh and smile, even though she was hurting inside.

But in return, she got nothing,

Instead, she took out her anger and disappointment on her family.

She never could have a proper conversation with them,

none of them understood her.

She told the concerned friend how she thought of killing herself.

How she was sick of helping others and getting nothing in return.

How she was tired of being hurt all of the time and always hiding away her feelings.

The girl then did something surprising to the caring friend who's eyes were wide with shock.

She began to cry silently.

The girl never cried.

At least not in public.

Everybody else in the area had their backs turned against her, taking photos, laughing and chatting happily.

But only that one friend saw her tears and rushed to hug her.

Apologizing to her, expressing how she cared for her and that she loved her very much, only one friend did that.

Yet it didn't hide the fact everyone else let her down.

She was angry and sad at the same time.

But she felt slightly better to have someone there by her side, who proved herself worthy of being a good friend.

End of Scenario.

I would do stupid things to make her laugh and buy her ice cream(who doesn't like ice cream? xD). I would hug her too and let her cry it all out and let her slowly open up :)

well this is a familiar scene since I've been there.
if I ever had a friend like this I would hug her and just listen to her.
most people don't understand that people under that kind of circumstance just needs someone to listen to them. so they won't feel alone.

i cried TT^TT i swear this happened to me before (except for the suicidal part xD)
i have this friend, let's say she's the silent girl and i was the caring friend.
she had this problem with her parents also but she won't tell me. her eyes are kinda reddish, i wanna hug her but i don't know how to do it plus i am not saying anything (i was hungry that time so, yeah xDD) i was really hurt coz i see her hurt yet i'm not doing anything to comfort her so I just cried then when she saw me she slapped my left arm so hard and then she laughed (yeah, i was ugly crying xDDD) i pretended to be mad since i was ugly crying and then she's laughing at me. i continue to pretend to be crying so she'll laugh more. then after a few ROFL, she hugged me and said not to cry anymore and said she feel better. then i bought her ice cream with red eyes xD even the ice cream vendor asked why we both have red watery eyes, we said that we're vampires xDDD haha
PS : i was ugly crying in public xDD haha
