A Convo worth sharing.
Today, I went to have dinner with a friend, and I was telling her of all my problems, and like usual, she gave me advice. But there's this one line that I wanted to show you all that really stuck with me:
Me: "I'm afraid I'm a side character in someone's story rather then a main character. I feel like I'm nothing but an unimportant side character that everyone glosses over."
Friend: "What the heck is wrong with being the side character? The side character helps form who the main character becomes--you know what? Screw the main character. The main character is an idiot until the side character comes along and slaps him/her in the fact and forms the main character into a better character in the end. Don't underestimate the side character, because the side character has more power than you think. Now let's go and get your cape."
And then I just looked at her and said:
Me: "I know, but...I'm just tired of being Robin, and I wanna be Batman for once."
Friend: "We're going to go get your cape, because you're a super hero regardless."
It was a small conversation, but I think it's something that those of you who still read my blog might need to read, because I know I needed those words.
