The Gifted Hands (aka Psychometry)

Police officer Yang Choon-Dong (Kim Kang-Woo) isn't getting many good results at work. One evening Yang comes across a young man (Kim Bum) wearing a hooded sweatshirt spray painting on the side of a building in an alley. Yang reprimands the young man for vandalism and when the artist talks back to him as he's walking away Yang goes after him. Yang merely touches the boy's hand and finds himself getting sprayed in the eyes with paint before the artist escapes into the darkness. Later that same night a woman comes into the police station claiming that her daughter disappeared on the way home from school; the other officers rule out any crime being involved without an investigation but Yang believes it could be a kidnapping. At the encouragement of the Lieutenant, Yang immediately begins working the case on his own.

A few weeks later the missing girl is found dead in a vacant playground. After a confrontation with a fellow officer over the lack of action regarding the missing girl, Yang ends up watching the evening news which airs a broadcast about the murder. When the footage shows a higher view of the crime scene Yang is shocked to realize he's seen this exact view before... in the painting by the young man in the alley. The thing is, it had been painted before the girl had even been reported missing. Curious, Yang sets off an a search to find the man who spray painted the grafitti.

When Yang finds him however, he gets more than he bargained for. The young man- named Kim Jun- has an ability that has haunted him his whole life: with a single touch he is able to read a person's past. Jun's ability has only ever brought him misfortune and has driven him into a state of self-imposed isolation; Yang's appearance in his life only makes Jun more wary than ever. Yang himself is eventually dealt a blow by this power when Jun sees a traumatic incident from his past when they touch, one that no one else knows about and something that has haunted Yang since his childhood. But when another little girl goes missing Yang realizes that Jun's ability is the only way to save her and must convince the terrified young man that his ability isn't a curse, it's a gift.

So I just finished watching "The Gifted Hands" (btw,  the summary above was written by yours truly) and oh my god it was great! I've always been a fan of Kim Bum (he was pretty much the only reason I watched "Boys Over Flowers") but I'd never watched anything he'd acted in other than BOF because I haven't really been into watching k-dramas that often. I recently began watching "Padam Padam" after seeing a fanmade k-drama bromance video on Youtube that include a clip from it and I love him in it. So I looked him up and came across his credit as starring in "The Gifted Hands"; after watching the English subbed trailer and spending a good 20 minutes trying to find it online where I could watch it in good quality I settled in for the last two hours and gave it my undivided attention. And man was it worth it! Seriously if you haven't watched it you really should, it's a fantastic movie.
