have you guys watch Grave of the Fireflies? It is a 1988 animation movie by Isao Takahata. It is based of a semi-autobiography novel by Akiyuki Nosaka. 

It's about two siblings during World War II. How they live during that time. And you just feel hopelessness when you watch it. Usually the war film is from the soldier point of view. But this movie is from the citizen, the victims of the war.

Damn that story makes me cried so bad. I watched this movie with my blanket covered half of my face. Then after the movie ended, I stuffed my face down to my pillow and cried my hearts out.

If you never watch it, I recommend you to do so.
