Here are some epic story about K-Pop idol casting that I read XD

SNSD's Jessica and F(x)'s Krystal / The Jung Sister: SM tried to cast Krystal at first but her parents felt that she was too young and declined. They instead recommended Jessica so Jessica joined SM first, then was followed by Krystal once she got older. P.s Krystal was 5 years old that time 0_0 and jessica was 11

SHINee's Minho: An SM manager tried to cast him at a ski resort but Minho declined. He kept following Minho around only to be denied again. The manager then spotted Minho walking home from school and gave him another casting offer. Minho declined. Manager kept following and offering anyway again until Minho finally accepted. 

MBLAQ's G.O: He placed second at a singing competition and was shocked when he found out that the first place winner was someone younger than him. He dropped out of school to focus on his singing before finally debuting as MBLAQ. The first place winner ended up being SNSD's Taeyeon.

A Pink's Eunji: She attended a vocal academy before her director recommended that she audition for A Pink. She got in on first try and debuted two months later.

EXO-K's Sehun: He was eating ddukbokgi at a street food stand when a casting manager approached him. Sehun got scared and thought the person was weird so he ran away. Manager persisted and chased him down for 30 minutes before finally persuading and casting him. 

SNSD's Sunny: She was originally a trainee in a different agency. Her group disbanded before they got to debut so Sunny kind of floated around before she auditioned for SM and got accepted. Ended up being Lee Soo Man's niece. 

2PM's Wooyoung: He wasn't really given much attention when he originally auditioned for a Wonder Girls' audition. Ended up winning #1 at another public audition and debuting with 2PM. 

SNSD's Tiffany: She was cast while standing in front of a bathroom at a Korean festival.  She sang during that festival and SM scout who was there asked her if she'd sing in SM's global singing competition and she said and ended up coming first place, then she was offered a contract with SM.

VIXX's Hongbin: He decided to become a singer after watching a non-celebrity perform at a singing competition. After he auditioned and joined a company, he ended up debuting in the same group as that non-celebrity he first saw (VIXX's Ken). 

TVXQ's Changmin: SM's casting manager waited for Changmin outside of his school every day after seeing him play badminton during phys ed class. He was so persistent that Changmin told his mom. His mom was a BoA fan so she took Changmin to an SM audition because she wanted to see BoA. Changmin passed the audition and debuted with TVXQ. 

EXO-K's Baekhyun: Baekhyun initially gave up auditioning because he failed all of them and began preparing for music college instead. While clearing his throat and practicing outside of his practical exam room, he was cast by an SM manager. 

Super Junior's Kangin: He was cast while riding an elephant train at an amusement park. 

INFINITE's Sunggyu: After graduating from high school, he left home for Seoul to become a singer. He lived alone and worked several part time jobs, one of them being at a cafe. His cafe manager mentioned to a customer that Sunggyu was preparing to become a singer. The customer asked Sunggyu who his favorite singer was and he replied that it was Nell. The customer ended up being Nell's manager and offered him a chance to audition at the company. Sunggyu obviously passed and debuted with INFINITE. 

SNSD's Seohyun: She was cast by an SM manager while riding the subway when she was an elementary school student.

B2ST's Doojoon: He was originally preparing for admission into an athletics college but changed paths to become a singer when he saw a Big Bang documentary at home while in his underwear and eating pork cutlets. He became a JYP trainee when he placed 3rd at a public audition. Joined the survival 'Hot Blood' program and almost became a member of 2AM before being eliminated. Left JYP to join Cube and got a fresh start as a member of B2ST, the same group as Hyunseung, a previous member of the same Big Bang documentary he watched. 

SHINee's Jonghyun: SM originally cast him for his handsome looks when he was a bassist for a band. Ended up becoming SHINee's main vocalist. 

Super Junior's Siwon: Siwon was standing in front of school gate waiting for his friend when SM scout saw him.

Super Junior's Heechul: Heechul was really late at SM audition. When he arrived. the audition was over. However SM staff take a look at his face once and still give him a chance.

CNBLUE's Yonghwa: A picture of him from his personal page got posted on a "hot or not" site by some stranger, then the FNC people saw it and tracked him down (name, number and address) contacted him and even though he firmly declined, they still chased him down to Busan to try to recruit him. They even went to highschool and tried to meet him by saying that she's a relative. Until his family talked him into it and he finally accepted it. Super Junior's Kibum: He was just crossing the road with his headphones and this SM manager saw him in his car and offered him an audition.

F(x)'s Victoria: Victoria was discovered by SM China agents at 2007 Beijing Dance Festival where she with her university dance crew won gold medal in modern dance genre and silver medal in ethnic dance genre. She was one of the few female students who joined two different dance crews. SM agents noticed her and during or after the competition approached her, asked her phone number and offered an audition.

Ft. Island's Jonghun: He got casted on street because of his look. Ulzzang look. The manager kept coming to him and even buy him meals. Then he agreed to sign the contract.

Ft. Island's Lee Hongki: He was casted because his drama director asked him to sing. He sang, and the next day, they asked him to be trainee.

Shinwa's Dongwan: He did audition for SM, but didn't pass. When he went out with his girlfriend, and brought a teddy bear, SM manager casted him.

Shinwa's Andy: He was casted in the US, to be HOT member. He did the training, almost become HOT member, but his mother thought he was too young to be celeb. He then go back to the US, almost forget about his dream. But then, he met Lee Sooman again in a park in US. LSM asked him to dance in the park right away. He danced, eventhough it's embarassing. But he passed the "audition", and went to Korea again to be later debuted with shinhwa.

Big Bang's G.Dragon: He went to a ski resort that Lee Sooman (SM) was holding some dance competition at when he was 7 (8 in Korean age) and was recruited as a trainee. After about 5 years, he stopped being a trainee because he wasn't sure he wanted to be an idol anymore. When he was 13, Sean (from Jinusean) noticed him and told YG about him and became a trainee with YG.

Miss a's Suzy: She participated in a audition but suddenly had the urge to use the restroom, so she went and somehow attracted the attention of a JYP representative. She end up having the audition next to the restroom.
