A Gyunniversary Post
Well, real life has been kicking me in the teeth lately (same old, same old—too much to do, not enough time to do it in), but I do try to find time to log into AFF, because it’s where I come to unwind. What do I find out today but that I’ve been a member of this site for two years already. Shock. Awe. Confusion. Seems like just yesterday I was joining up to…I don’t even remember. Probably to comment on a fic.
Anyhow, I was actually planning to do the fanfic challenge EFJify tagged me for, but I’m going to have to save that for another time (I’m tweaking it, too, so it might not be quite what I was tagged for). For this post, I think I’ll do a spot of reminiscing on several issues, as well as a look ahead. If you’re interested in joining me on my short trip down AFF memory lane (and seeing what I’ve got planned, Gyu willing), come on in!
(Please be warned there will be quite a bit of the Gyu included, because as a Gyustan, sticking in my dearest leader anywhere and everywhere, relevant or no, is part of the contract I signed in fanwoman tears unspoken agreement that exists between a bias and a stan).
1. Biases. Quite a few things have changed since I first joined this site. I’d say the major change would be the switcheroo in my Infinite bias, from this guy:
To this Gyu:
(Yes, lame attempt at wordplay. I know, I know.)
I blame this:
And this:
Oh, and most definitely this:
I HAVE NO REGRETS.
(Well, some, when my poor old heart can't take the excitement. Even then, though...rawr.)
2. Fics. My first fic ever on this site is still one of the nearest and dearest to my heart, even if it is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you’re wondering if it might be your cup of tea, well, all right, let me ask you: can you stomach the thought of Kim Myungsoo whipping a girl across the back with an expensive Italian leather belt?
If you’re not sickened by that, head on over to my introductory AFF fic. Click here or on the Kim brothers.
3. Contests. Man, I love contests. Of course, I’ve always loved a challenge. Fun fact: my freshman year of university, all the upperclassmen warned me not to take Introduction to Philosophy because literally only one person in the history of the course had ever gotten an A, and there was a greater chance of failing than barely passing. So what did I do? Took the class and became the second person to ever get an A from that professor.
(Omo, was that bragging? I think the Gyu has rubbed off on me…)
I’m currently entered in…I don’t know, quite a few contests, ha. The one I’m going to pimp out is being held by the fabulous KaiheeLo (she’s already got an Infinite fic contest running, with totally awesome prizes up for grabs). Her other contest is for A Pink, T-ara, 100%, and B2ST fics. Run on over and submit your fic! Click here or on the iest hamster in Kpop.
(Also, bonus Seungho!)
3. . ynoona-ness. Two things I own up to. I like the ; I like reading it, I like writing it. I like the fluff, too, but…I usually like things with a bite, and sugar doesn’t have any teeth. Also, tell me how a heteroual woman with working nether regions can stan a man such as Kim Sunggyu and not have those self-same nether regions tingle like a bad case of prickly heat?
What relief is there? That’s right. .
And yeah, I’m not going to lie and say I wasn’t a ynoona before I showed up here. Because I was. Unapologetically so. Hey, noona’s got a job and she knows her boundaries; ain’t nobody gonna tell noona to not enjoy the very…uh, exhilarating…views provided by the Infinite boys.
Well, mostly the view provided by one Infinite boy.
And if you’d like to peek into my unrepentant perynoonaness, just go here. Or, click the bibimbaby.
4. Friends. Ahhh, AFF friends. Can’t talk about my time here without a shout-out to my dearest Gyumate, provider of my Gyufix and future world’s best dentist, pinnochi. If it weren’t for her, I don’t think I’d still be here and you can make book on that. She truly understands the Gyu love, because she shares it, and for that, I sarang her to the moon and back. And you’re totally not going to leave without checking out her fics, right? Thought so. Here or on our beloved salamander general.
I've made a ton friends here and I want to send you all baskets and baskets of strawberry Gyu kisses! You guys are awesome!
(Also, I’ve been experimenting with friends-locking fics. Issues, you know. I’m also being a bit more cautious with friend requests (comes with being here long enough to be plagiarized). I explain it all in my Personal Message, so head on over there if you’re curious.)
5. Future. I plan on being here as long as I feel like it, hahaha. For the time being, I might be slow with updates and things (although I am going to try to finish my current fic in a good amount of time; dark Sunggyu is clamoring to get out of my brain), but I do always finish what I start. Just depends on how long it will take me. Slow but steady, right?
Okie dokie, time for this ynoona to get back to work. Thanks to everyone for reading, commenting, subbing, and upvoting my fics, putting up with my Gyu-obsession, and letting me be a part of your lives!
