Henna's appa came from South Korea, so her and her siblings upbringing was very Korean. Her older sister Taylor was the one who got the brunt of it. Once Henna came around, her appa wasnt so strict and becme more and more lax as the tohers were born. By the time Zipora was born he was normal for an american dad.
Henna was six when Zipora was born, so she almst understood what was going on. Her mother went into labor early and was sick. Zipora was sick too and for a few onths they didnt know if either was going to survive. Lukily they did, but they couldnt have anymore children and her mom got sick easier after that. It really got her down, so her appa made them sing to lift her spirits. Taylor hated to, but Henna really liked to. It was an easy distraction for her. Her brother Thomas loved it too, but he tried too hard. He hd a good voice, but he wouldnt belive it.
Even after their mom was better, Henna and Thomas kept singing. Thomas just loved it and it was a way to clear Henna's mind. She didnt want to have to think about things, so she would sing. She was in every club or activity that involved singing and she still got in trouble for singing in school. It was her out and no one saw that.
Thomas seemed to, but he was in his own world. He tried to see the best in things, so when he was picked on he just ignored it. Henna tried to be like her brother, but she wasnt as good. School was brutal and she counted down the days til she was done. With a few months left in her senior year, Thomas was involved in a school fight that left him and the toher boys roughed up and their appa decided it would be better if he didnt go back to that school.
Henna and Taylor heard the whole argument. Their appa wanted to send Thomas to South Korea to go to school, it would suposidly toughen him up. Their mom was not going ot let Thomas go to a foregn country by himself. Henna stepped in and offered to go with hi. All she wanted to do was get away from that place, South Korea seemed to be far enough for her.
Life there was better. Their grandparents were awesome and no one knew her. Thomas adjusted quickly, as did she. She got a job and even looked at taking some classes. They had to go back to Michigan ever summer, but it was a short enough time that she could deal with it.
Before her nineteenth birthday, one of her friends convinced her to audition for an entertainment company. She sang all the time, so why not do it professionally. She agreed to one audition, but that was enough. Once she got into YG, Thomas wanted to do it too, but Henna wouldnt let him. He needed to finish school. He was actually smart, school could be his way into the world.
The next fall when he came back he joined Henna though.
