BACKGROUND — Jungyeon's clan was known for being heartless killers, not of the slayers but of beings trying to destroy the balance of life. Their clan had believed in inhumanity once the peace was disturbed, and unconsciously, they seem to change personalities once they feel the start of bloodshedding. When Jungyeon was still a child, her grandfather served as her mentor. Teaching about everything when it came to defending the ones she believed needed her. Her grandfather never once mentioned slayers as a threat or an enemy, but he categorized beings only into two: the ones who destroy and the ones who recreate, he told her that not all vampires are good nor bad, and slayers are the same too. Her parents were another story, when she was little, she was the witness to their love for one another, their undying love that she thought no one could have compared to. Until one day, her mother had her bags slung around her shoulder begging the little girl to come with her, but she didn't oblige, she just asked and asked why and her mother never answered. She was left infront of the porch staring in space. Until she heard a bloodcurling scream from a distance, the voice of her mother. She ran, and ran, and ran. But she never found anything. And when she came back to their house, she saw her father on the porch, hands full of blood. As a child, she accused him of killing her mother, he only smiled sadly and held her shoulder saying "I've done wrong, little one. Forgive me. Don't cry, my child. And love. Always love." before his entire body fell to the floor lifeless. She saw a stab in his back, right to the part where his heart was. So she ran upstairs to her grandfather's room, and there she saw him lifeless, lying in his own blood. She never knew who killed them, and she never cried. She was adopted by the leaders of the clan, and was raised full of restriction and rules. Feeling deprived of her own freedom, she became rebellious and often engaged in many activities that resulted to her own punishments (where she does not learn), she rarely listened to anyone, and always sported her signature smirk. And when the new rules were established, she felt almost nonchalant, if it weren't for the endless sermons and new rules told by the council, she wouldn't have even bothered. "What was the difference of vampires from slayers again?", she thought to herself. But then again, it was a new adventure, and new rules... to break.

PERSONALITY — Jungyeon was trained carefully, not only physically but also intellectually, held by the council and her former mentor (her grandfather who she found out was once part of the council), she grew up smart but arrogant, never hiding in the bushes, but instead flaunting out her achievements and influence. She is freedom hungry and always craved for constant change, having to be raised by rule-conscious freaks (as she liked to call them). She believed that chaos is needed once in a while (which is entirely opposed to what her clan's perspectives are), and she often declared herself as the 'balance of the nation'. What are rules without breakers? Life is a game. She never leaves any place she'd been to without a smirk in the face, she has a heartless facade, that everyone seems to always believe, many are scared of her. She knows many people but she doesn't call everyone her friend. But anyone who gets to really know Kim Jungyeon always seems to grow a soft heart for her, not everyone knows who she really is behind that smirk. A kind, soft-hearted, and forgiving Jungyeon, the girl she was way back before her loved ones died. That girl never died in the beginning, she just hid from fear and kept on waiting for someone to knock on the door to tell her it was okay, and no one was going to harm her. Her arrogant facade served as a defense mechanism. And also, she gets often frustrated with her unconscious easy forgiving attitude to others. She deemed it as a disadvantage and still doesn't know how to control it, like a power having its own mind.
